Hugh Oughtta Know

By Mitch Berg

It was 20 years ago when Hugh Hewitt released “If It’s Not Close They Can’t Cheat”.

And he was finally right.

As this is written, Wednesday morning, Donald Trump has 277 electoral votes nailed down.  Trump could actually get over 300 – as this is written, Michigan, Arizona, Alaska and Nevada and their 35 votes are still up in the air, but trending toward Trump.

The US Senate has flipped, and. might actually get to 56 GOP votes.

The US House is still very much up in the air, and likely will be for a while, but the GOP has flipped several seats and, as far as I know, lost none.   If I had to bet, I’d say they hold the majority, and the trifecta.

Speaking of trifectas – the DFL’s is at least hobbled.  As this is written the MN House is tied at 67-67, with a few recounts underway.  I’m not sure what happens with a tied House – Lisa Demuth and Melissa Hortman arm-wrestle for the gavel?  I’m going with Lisa.

Some good news – Anoka rejected municipal trash.  That is something worth celebrating.

The Piglet is over.

I got home after 2AM.  Posting may be light today.

Get your rest son. More work to come. Thanks for all of your efforts.

According to the Fox News tracker, it looks like three House seats flipped to Democrats, two of which were in New York.

Is this weird, or is it just me?

    2016 – Hillary 63 million, Trump 65 million
    2020 – Biden 81 million, Trump 75 million
2024 – Harris 65 million, Trump 70 million (partial results)

Where did 15 million Biden voters go? They didn’t switch to Trump – his 2020 to 2024 numbers are flat. They didn’t stay home – Harris got the same as Hillary.

Where are all those missing Democrat voters?

Did they ever exist at all?

    Bigman;
That was always the question. How did he get 81 million votes, yet few to no people showed up to his events.

Trump could get over 300? Shouldn’t it be even more, with Minnesota and California and others being part of the national compact to give all their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote?

  6. dcs Says:

To your point, Bigman, I believe the total voter turnout is bigger this year than 2020 but since not all the results are in, the statistics don’t reflect how many Trump will have at the end of the day. If I’m wrong, someone correct me

On another humorous note, I’m sure that we’ve all seen those black yard signs that say “NOPE!”, with the O resembling a head with orange hair. As I drove around Red Wing today, I saw one of those signs, among about eight more in the yard of someone that was all in on the DemoCommie party. Well, someone sprayed the word “YUP!”, over it. Almost spit out coffee.

    Boss,

    LOL. Literally.

Thanks, reader15. I had a similar thought as I was finally drifting off to sleep this morning. Watching TimberWalz throw MN’s electoral votes into Trump’s pot would be even more satisfying than seeing Kamala certify the election results.

I think Mr Jones will find this a very interesting chart.

Two of the national conservative radio programs were also discussing that disparity today.

On another note, I believe that I heard, at least twice, that first time ever voters, went for Trump by double digits. If that’s true, maybe there is hope for the future of the country.

  12. John "Bigman" Jones Says:

JDM – thanks for the link. Zero hedge linked to it, too. Lots of us wondering what happened to all those die-hard Democrat voters who failed to position Kamala for success against Literally Hitler.

My in-laws live in Florida. They also have early voting but it is interesting to consider the difference in election day voting. Must register in advance – no same day registration. Must present a photo ID to vote – no vouching for other people. Must sign the voter ledger to receive a ballot. Not quite as secure as paper ballots and purple fingers, but closer than Minnesota’s rules.

It appears stricter laws produce cleaner results. Who wudda thunk it?

Trump won last night despite neocon fossils like Hewitt, Levine and Prager.
Their audience consists of busted old boomers that are irrelevant now.
    They’re finished, and good riddance.

  14. bosshoss429 Says:

    Big,

Great point on how FL manages their elections with an ID process.

A friend of mine, that really likes going down rabbit holes to find information, told me that the states that Kommissar Kamala won, do not require voter ID.
