Leftist Western Intellectuals: The Moral Density Of A Collapsed Star

By Mitch Berg

The rhubarb between the DFL “Democrat Socialist” Fascist Symp Caucus attacks on Ron Latz reminds us that while consistency (to say. nothing of morality) aren’t leftist values, they do have some consistencies.

For example, a tendency to coddle the most ghastly dictators:

I always wondered about the leftist intellectuals who supported Stalin, and those aristocratic sympathizers and peace activists who excused Hitler. Today’s Hamas apologists and atrocity-deniers, with their robotic denunciations of “settler-colonialism,” belong to the same tradition but worse: They have abundant evidence of the slaughter of old people, teenagers, and children, but unlike those fools of the 1930s, who slowly came around to the truth, they have not changed their views an iota. The lack of decency and respect for human life is astonishing: Almost instantly after the Hamas attack, a legion of people emerged who downplayed the slaughter, or denied actual atrocities had even happened, as if Hamas had just carried out a traditional military operation against soldiers. October 7 deniers, like Holocaust deniers, exist in an especially dark place.

The “de-colonization” narrative may different, in that it is better organized, and western academics, “journalists” and the non-profit industrial complex are even more pro-communist than they were from the 1930s through the 1980s.

Today’s DFL desperately needs a modern day Hubert Humphrey, a leader who is willing to banish the extreme left to the wilderness.

Unfortunately, a babbling horde of Democrat Socialists control the heights of DFL politics, ie, the rule writing, endorsement and caucus process. Nothing short of nuclear weaponry will blast them out of there.

Another problem is the mind-numbingly stupid cohort of nepo-baby donors, (Alida R. Messinger that would be you, among others) whose intellectual depth has never risen above cocktail party gossip.

However, this split over support for Hamas is a good sign.

Berg’s 7th Law: When Democrats say “Reagan couldn’t get endorsed today”, they’re diverting from the fact that JFK and HHH would get run out of a DFL meeting.

Back when I was young, the leftist intellectuals would be waxing on how romantic Communism was, and how wonderful it could be if only the right people were running it, and they were firmly in favor of the PLO as well in their atrocities against Israel. Now they are worse, yes, excusing atrocities that even Dr. Mengele shied away from, but the scarier thing to me is that too many so-called “conservatives” are falling for the same line of horse pucky.

Our culture is, in a manner of speaking, diverging from a truth narrative in favor of an honor or “party” narrative in a way that would make President Washington, who warned of this very thing in his farewell address, cringe.
