Layers And Layers Of Gatekeepers

By Mitch Berg

Our intellectual future is in the best of hands.

Book cover for Erich Maria Remarque’s classic western suspense novel:

And let’s not ignore this classic, complete with forward by Senator Blutarski:

Pinky swear, I found the first one on Amazon once upon a time.

The second one needs no pinky swear.

The span of time between Pearl Harbor and Cemetery Ridge is the same as Pearl Harbor and today. 80 years is two, maybe three generations, and nobody today has any personal recollection of the events.

Ya’ll sound like those Civil War nuts ranting that the re-enactors’ uniforms have the wrong unit insignia. What difference, at this point, does it make?

Besides, Eric Flint (author of the 1632 series) approved the cover. At least he should have. Might have made a great new series of alternate history books.

It’s a safe bet the creators of these 2 book covers have college degrees!

IIRC, the first one showed up on Amazon within 24hrs of the book entering the public domain.

    Oh look…books. How quaint.

Those that have the power to make such decisions are ensuring no one will be able to read anything anyway. They are creating a degenerate, North American Africa

Our universal health care will be delivered by witch doctors who will cure cancer by shaking a bag of bat bones over our bodies.

Maybe the author wanted to sell some books and came up with a clever scam…

The German planes that bombed Pearl Harbor o Dec. 7th were piloted by space aliens.
So, you think I am a conspiracy theorist? Prove me wrong!!

    Blade;

That nut job Kate Brown, Governor of Washington, did the same thing, because…racism.

It’s been going on for a long time, and one of the first places I noticed this was in “abridged” books, where someone who graduated with an English degree things that because they beat the 2.5 GPA needed to graduate, that somehow they can improve on Shakespeare. Generally the overall effect on the book, IMO, is the same as the effect on the herd when the guy with the rubber band gun visits the bull calves.

So these “illustrations”….are really just the next step where the fine arts crowd gets into the act of neutering great literature.

  9. Eric Says:

BLUTO – “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?”

    Boone- “He’s on a roll”

On a side note, it could be a lot of fun to do “highly inappropriate book covers” for humor’s sake, though it would be tough to beat these two examples for sheer hilarity. Maybe men in armor on the cover of “Arabian Nights”?
