The Strib is trying to wag the state’s proverbial dog:
“Flooding in” to a Reddit thread?
Why, it sounds good, doesn’t it?
The kind of good news that an undistinguished meat puppet of a governor can’t be expected not to try to make hay of it…
That stupid 1971 headline is set to pass “…on a stick!” as the ultimate Minnesota cliche, by the way.
So what’s the truth?
Why, let’s see:

240 comments and 36 upvotes, in a month.
This blog has many posts with much more activity than that in a day.
So – why all the ado about that modest little, uh, flood?
Oh:
Minnesota has the eight-worst net outmigration among the productive class in the country. One suspects the “flood” comprises a lot of people looking for taxpayer-funded abortion and chemical castration of minors.
And while it’s hard to believe it’s not by design, one has to think the DFL doesn’t want the news to get too big, too fast… –
I had 3 reasons to give a shit about Minnesota, left in Minnesota.
As of last month, it’s 1 down, 2 to go.
Minnesota is not fit for decent people to raise families in. My kids get it; it’s convincing their wives…progress is being made.
Why would people want to leave the 5th (I can’t remember exactly) best place to live? It’s like some of the statistics are being twisted, imagine that!
Funny how the image used for self congratulations is four white children peacefully frolicking in rural MN.
Why not four black children frolicking in the stream from a water hydrant in north Mpls? Or maybe for Somali youths frolicking around outdoor restaurants in Dinkytown while throwing firecrackers at the customers? Or howzabout four thugs frolicking around a car they’re about to hijack? Or, wait, wait, what about frolicking around a building they’ve just burned down?
All good observations, jdm.
If I had an X account, I would give these reasons:
1. Winters are cold here from late November to as late as May, snow and/or rain and low temperatures. Plan to add about $500 per person in your family to buy cold weather clothing, snow shovels and salt to melt ice. You can buy a snowblower, but the morons running the state will probably ban them within five years.
2. Make sure that when you find a place to live, it already has electric stoves, furnaces and water heaters.
3. Our choo choo trains are way behind schedule and way over budget, thanks to unelected left wing bureaucrat cronies. Taxes will go up to cover the short fall.
4. The state government voted in long parental leave, free school lunch for all and free healthcare. Once again, that money to pay for it all, has to come from somewhere.
5. If you hunt and fish, you might not be able to own a gun here very soon. Boats with motors will probably be banned within five years.
6. The left wing communists running the state, love criminals and let off repeat offenders, child molesters and are allowing pedophilia, so your kids won’t be safe.
7. When you hit retirement age, plan an exit strategy, because – taxes.
Bottom line? The DemoCommies are always justifying their financial ignorance saying they want a better Minnesota. If you want to move here, be ready to pay for that. And pay. And pay.
Good! I hope some folks flooding in will get in a bidding war to buy my house – because I’m out.
Next, they’ll be bragging about how cheap office buildings are downtown – pick one up for a song – and how the roomy and spacious the uncrowded streets feel.
^ Reminds me of when PeeWee Herman (may he RIP) falls over on his bike, pops up and states, “I meant to do it”.
… geez, I think there’s a follow-up career for little Jacob Frey now that Paul Rubens has passed. I mean, you know, if it turns out that he’s an awful mayor or something. 😉
Next, they’ll be bragging about how cheap office buildings are downtown
Yet anotehr reason why MN is one of the top places to live and work in the US! Just ask the folks who do surveys!
Devon Archer’s testimony against Joe & Hunter Influence, inc. is like Sammy the Bull ratting out John Gotti.
I don’t see how the clicked GOP neo-cons can avoid impeaching Pedo Joe. I’d like to see articles being introduced next week, at the latest.
Ngl, watching Democrat Rep. Gold man sweat is pretty funny.
Blade;
Goldman actually makes AOC look smart. He’s such a rat bastard, just like Jamie Raskin.
Republicans do not wish to impeach Biden, no matter how richly he deserves it, because doing so would enrage the Democrat base. Republicans want to force Democrats to remove Biden themselves, and also shaft the Kackler (like they did Bernie), to run more electable candidates. That will also piss off the Democrat base, but it won’t be the Republicans fault.

And we have the world’s best doctors here. They can treat anything, even severe mental illness causing people to commit murder and get away with it.

Hmmm. The board which released him met in 2021. Wasn’t that during the pandemic? Wasn’t that during the time when everything was done by Zoom video, wearing masks? Wasn’t that during The Great Closing, when many businesses were closed to the public? I’m curious to know how thorough was the medical exam, how accessable was the treatment, how did the board determine a murderer was cured and safe and could be released into the wild? Where was he living when he was going door-to-door in Highland Park with a knife, and why didn’t his caretakers notice? Say, whatever happened to that homeless encampment along the Mississippi River near there?
Beginning to sound like another Epic Fail which will require an Epic Deflection. Homeowner should thank God he took the knife away from the dead psycho to stab him, rather than shoot him, or the homeowner would already be on his way to Stillwater.
He may still be headed to Stillwater, Bigman Choi hasn’t decided yet. Probably waiting to get his voting record:
“Police are investigating Lambert’s death as a homicide. The investigation is continuing, including Lambert’s cause of death, and police said they didn’t have further updates Monday.”
When you’re living in clown world, you never know who, or what’s coming down the road.
Big,
I, too, asked the question why are people with repeat offenses and mental issues, like the New York “Michael Jackson impersonator” that terrorized subway riders, are running around in public, UNSUPERVISED? Despite several BLACK riders, including one that tried to assist Daniel Penny in restraining him, providing witness testimony in Penny’s favor, the mob demanded that he be prosecuted for murder.
As a meteorologist and longtime resident this is false. The real nasty is basically late Nov thru late Feb. We have many great days in Oct and even 1st half of Nov many years, and the permanent winter snowcover is usually mostly gone besides piles by first of Spring (however storms can still come but they melt rapidly and it can be 70F+ just days after storms in April and God forbid May), the summers are great. I bike from March through Oct easily. Permanent winter snowcover lasts on avg about 3.5mo (southern MN). In any event, people make it sound like winter starts in Sept and ends at end of May and that it is snowcovered and frigid that whole time. Nonsense.
