Mystery
By Mitch Berg
Bob Collins broke the story; the mystery billboard is not only real, it’s in the ‘burbs of the Twin Cities:
National Public Radio is on the case; dissidents must be rounded up:
At first glance, it would seem to be from some person or group who isn’t thrilled by President Barack Obama’s performance so far — unless it’s a more ironic message from those who didn’t think too much of Bush and want to remind voters about him.
Anyone out there know anything about where it came from? Tell us and we’ll pass the word to Bob. As he says, we could do a little crowdsourcing.
Or, as we who remember the Clinton years refer to it, “scouting for the IRS”.

Yeah, given that unemployment rates are finally starting to drop, although slowly, and that we are starting to see some economic growth instead of contraction, that reminder may not be benefitting Republicans or Conservatives any time soon.
AC, I know someone who comments here that will be in NYC soon, and possibly making other trips. If you’re interested in meeting up, contact me through the Penigma email address on the Penigma blog.

IRS? Whoever put this up clearly belongs on the DHS list of right-wing terrorists.

Yeah, given that unemployment rates are finally starting to drop,
Hardly a given. The rate “Dropped” even though there were fewer jobs. That means .3% of the workforce basically quit looking for a while.
although slowly, and that we are starting to see some economic growth instead of contraction
The signs there are very mixed. The Dow’s doing well, and GDP hit a bit of a dead skunk bounce, but the fact that January showed a net loss of jobs in a month when most companies traditionally start staffing up for Q1 projects is not a good sign. There are at least as many signs pointing to “double-dip recession” as there are to recovery at this point.
that reminder may not be benefitting Republicans or Conservatives any time soon.
Unless unemployment drops by 5% before November, I think it’s a safe bet it will. The Misery Index is pretty awful out there. Independents are breaking 2-1 for fiscal conservatives. People are starting to remember that in 2005, they had jobs and the unemployment rate was undser 5%.

The underemployed number has got to be terrifying to any purple-district Dem who backed Obama’s plan to tax and spend our way out of a recession.
It’s possible for the economy to add four million jobs between now and November without moving the unemployment rate a tenth of a percent.

Run away, AC.
Run away as fast as you can (in those comically oversized floppy shoes).

Just when the left fully supressed their Bush Derangement Syndrome and replaced it with Palin Derangement Syndrome, HE’s BACK!

Good point, K-Rod — G.O.M. is always ahead of the curve.

Hey Foot, Peev and Clownie together in NYC? It would be like a liberal version of Car 54 Where Are You?

I was thinking more like Midnight Cowboy, only with Wallace Shawn in the Jon Voigt role.
