Re: Hire A Better Social Media Intern

Senator,

I’m not sure if you left your social media feed with your remedial intern last week, or if you – a former prosecutor – actually wrote this:

So let’s get this straight – you want to write a bill to “stop dangerous conversions”…

…that have been illegal on the federal level for nearly 90 years?

I put up a Gun Free Zone to keep my business safe from thugz.
    Didn’t work. Thugz can’t read.

I put a Black Lives Matter sign in my front yard to keep my home safe from thugz.
    Didn’t work. Thugz can’t read.

I wrote legislation to stop thugz from killing people.

Didn . . . aw hell, you know the rest.

The hysteria of threats of violence is perpetuated by the right wing media. People scared of shadows should not have access to firearms.

  7. Maga Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

We know how to lower gun crime.
Put people in jail for weapons offenses.
Banning AR 15’s won’t make a detectable different in the number of gun crimes.
Gun control advocates know that this is true, yet they still push for an “assault weapons ban.” The reason they push for a response for a law that they will be ineffective is that they just don’t like the people who buy AR 15’s. It has nothing to do with reducing gun crime.

So he wasn’t qualified to carry a weapon for the military yet he was freely allowed to buy assault weapons as a civilian? Anyone else see the disconnect here?

Emery, it’s worth noting that the military apparently kicked him out for mental health issues, but didn’t report him to the Brady check system, just like happened with Sutherland, Texas. “Oopsie, government failed to protect us again, so let’s give government more power!”

How many times has a “law-abiding” person stopped a formerly law-abiding shooter with an AK-15 or other assault rifle?

Out of over two hundred mass shootings this year, not once that I am aware of.

Virtually all shooters were “law-abiding” until they decided not to be. Being law-abiding is not a permanent condition.

  18. Emery Says:

It doesn’t matter what a gunman’s motives are or what the circumstances might be.

What matters is that another angry, violent (male) American with no coping skills was given unrestricted access to weapons to solve his problems.

Every country in the world has its fair share of unbalanced humans, but only the US hands out guns and ammo like candy to the same individuals.

There are not enough red flags to flag these loose cannons waiting to erupt.

  25. bikebubba Says:

There is something appalling about a Senatrix whose accomplishments can be counted on the fingers of leprosy victims writing multiple memoirs.

Regarding armed citizens stopping mass murderers carrying semi-auto rifles, that occurred at a mall in Indiana (Elijsha Dicken) last year, at a mall in Oregon in 2012, at the Sutherland Springs shooting in 2017, and a lot more. The AR platform makes it easier to put a lot of rounds on target, but it doesn’t protect a man from bullets coming his way.

Just for reference, Emery. Yes, it’s hard to stop a shooter from getting off the first number of rounds. But that noted, as others have noted, most of the “mass shootings” seem to be drug-related and in gangland, not in…..communities where law-abiding citizens are likely to be armed. We might infer that when people know what crime looks like, and when they are able to respond in kind when things get out of hand, that criminals seek easier targets.

  26. kinlaw Says:

The American left: as uninformed a bloc of voters that has ever existed.

  27. kinlaw Says:

    22 shootings you retarded troll.

  28. TKS Says:

Emery spewed – “Virtually all shooters were “law-abiding” until they decided not to be.”

You don’t know this. For a whole bunch of these supposed mass-shooting events it can be shown that at some point govt failed to prevent it in one way or another from happening. Disarming actual law-abiding people from owning firearms will not change that.

  29. bosshoss429 Says:

Yes, Bot Boy, just like several other shooters, “he was known to the FBI”, whatever the hell that means. But, those losers are too busy persecuting law abiding citizens.

  30. kinlaw Says:

FYI Klobok*nt: clear thinking adults have a word for “gun violence”: crime.

  32. Maga Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

Another way you can tell that the move to ban AR 15s is ginned up faux outrage?
Texas has approximately ten gun homicides every single day.
If it ain’t on CNN, it didn’t happen to the clowns who are obsessed with Ar 15s.

  33. Mitch Berg Says:

““Virtually all shooters were “law-abiding” until they decided not to be.””

Nope. Virtually all criminals have lengthy records that disqualify them to hold much less own firearms before they commit a gun crime.

I know, I know – you’re talking about spree killers who do the lavishly publicized mass shootings of people who look like NPR execs and ISAIAH members and, well, you.

They are a tiny fraction of homicides, and they are dealt with via very different means.

But why do you not merely ignore, but erase, street crime and criminals?

  34. Mitch Berg Says:

“the US hands out guns and ammo like candy to the same individuals”

    Free guns and ammo? Where?

  35. Maga Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

Any person who believes that in the US any person can walk in to a firearms shop & buy any gun that they want & walk out with it is an idiot.
The feds refuse to crack down on straw purchasers because they have policies that precedence over law enforcement and public safety. They don’t want to put minorities and women in jail.

  36. bosshoss429 Says:

This whole incident is being exposed as a badly executed psy op. The lefties are pushing the shooter as a Nazi, white supremacist, you know, their usual crap. They are showing his Nazi tattoos, which he probably got a couple of weeks ago, which is when he started “posting” his rants. Funny though! The person that is pointing to this is one Aric Toler, a radical left wing influencer. As soon as he was outed, he blocked three conservative journalists. Finally, the lefties are hiding the manifesto of the trans Nashville shooter, but, even tough they are lying, they are releasing everything about this guy.

As I mentioned in a post last week, these are false flags. The leftist elites are pulling out all the stops to disarm the public and based on their history of the end justifying the means, they don’t care how many people die, especially children because their deaths have the maximum impact on the gullible.

Thankfully, even hard core leftists are waking up to the lies of their masters.

  37. Night Writer Says:

    Free guns and ammo? Where?
Hell, when every time I go to Fleet Farm, they’re passing out bullet samples.

  38. John "Bigman" Jones Says:

Liberals convinced judges that individual personal liberty was more important than social order; therefore, it was better for mental patients to be let out of mental hospitals on their solemn promise to take their meds, than to keep them locked up to make sure they actually took the meds. When – surprise! – mental patients stop taking the meds, their antisocial behavior brings them to the attention of law enforcement. Instead of housing mental patients in mental hospitals, we house them in prisons, except for the ones who die in homeless camps or during shootouts with the police.

Liberals convinced judges that mental patients couldn’t be committed to mental hospitals unless they posed an immediate danger to themselves or others. But when a mental patient gets arrested, he gets medication and a free lawyer. By the time he appears before a judge, he’s had a shower, haircut, he speaks rationally, he’s apologetic and sounds sincere in his promise to take his meds . . . the judge has no factual basis to find he’s an immediate threat, no basis to involuntarily commit him. The records of the arrest exist but without a commitment, the mental patient cannot be reported to NICS for background checks and he is not ineligible to buy a firearm under state or federal law.

Liberals put in place roadblocks to the system that would have prevented crazy people from buying firearms. Result: Liberals enable crazy people to buy guns.

Liberals’ solution now? Take away Your guns. Take away Everyone’s guns (except government agents). Because if nobody has any guns, crazy people won’t be able to get them. Problem solved?

Not quite, but they’ll still be crazy. And dangerous. And we’ll all be defenseless.

    Liberals set up that system.

    Why?

    Qui Bono?

  39. golfdoc50 Says:

Mitch, stop picking on Senator Short Bus. She can’t help it.

  40. jdm Says:

Here’s an interesting stat regarding mental patients over the past 70 years. It comes via Instapundit:

    US population 1955: 161 million
    US population 2023: 332 million

    1955 mental asylum population: 559k
    2023 mental asylum population: 35k

    This is the real crisis

  41. jdm Says:

^ That stat above speaks for itself, but this lays it out for the less capable.

JFK started “deinstitutionalization” by signing the Community Mental Health Act of 1963 (the last bill he would sign in his life.) It aimed to close down large, state run mental asylums in favor of smaller, community based facilities that would provide the same capabilities closer to home. His sister, Rosemary, had suffered from a botched lobotomy and spent much of her life alone in a distant asylum.

LBJ almost immediately signed the Mental Health Amendments of 1967, granting broad rights to those considered mentally insane.

Ronald Reagan signed the Lanterman-Petris Short Act, virtually ending the concept of involuntary commitment of the mentally ill as we knew it at the time. He then aggressively cut the budget for the community health clinics, resulting in their rapid closure throughout the 1980s, and a never-before-seen rise in violent crime in America.

This resulted in the 1994 Crime Bill (cue speeches of tough talking Joe Biden and Bill Clinton talking about “getting these animals off the streets,”) three strikes laws in many states and the rise of mass incarceration.

Now in the past 10 years, “justice reform” pursued primarily throughout Soros appointed District Attorneys and Judges has set those people free from the prisons.

Basically a 60 year campaign to prioritize the treatment of the mentally ill and criminals above the law abiding, productive members of society has led us to this point.

  42. justplainangry Says:

I strongly disagree with last sentence. There has been no prioritization of treatment, actually no treatment whatsoever, they just let insane people loose among general population.

  43. jdm Says:

It’s a less good sentence formulation, jpa. I think it’s comparing how the mentally and criminals are treated as opposed to normies. Not how they get treatment.

  44. justplainangry Says:

got it jdm, thanks for clarification.

  45. Vlad the Impaler Says:

They say there is a Mexican Que Que Que, fighting for White supremacy….and yup, there are plenty of mangey, low IQ nitwits out here lapping it up…right rAT?
