Having the Feds do it just means that Jacob Frey won’t have to answer, personally, to the “Progressive” goon squad that bedevils him; that Mary Moriarty doesn’t have to explain to the “progressives” who own her why she’s rounding up gangsters; why Governor Klink doesn’t have to take flak from the “progressives” that have wires hooked to his giblets.
It’s cowardice, and political expediency.

Unless he’s changed his mind, Bill Glahn always used to say that The Cities are like they are because the elites or rather those that decide want it that way. I don’t know to what end. Wasn’t there a change in Mpls government such that there is a “strong” mayor and a weak(er) council?

once the transition to a Cashless Society™ is complete any ability to NOT pay taxes you might have had will vanish. You filing a tax return will be you signaling to them(DFL/Communists) your passive acceptance of their authority – in truth they will control any access you will have to the money you’ve earned and will take whatever they want.
With cash you still have the opportunity for anonymous and private transactions that don’t have to be taxed if no one reports it.

Betty, I recognize that your comment is a parody of some of ours and I agree with your frustration. It’s heartbreaking to watch beautiful cities commit suicide by residents continually voting for politicians who endorse destructive policies (if the residents actually did vote for them, and the residents’ votes weren’t simply smothered in fake absentee ballots).
Your proposal is correct: The People should rise up and say, “Enough.” They are. And then they’re packing their bags to leave. Not that the city councils of Woodbury or Maple Grove are any less woke, but because the streets are plowed in the winter. Because the only children being shot are with squirt guns. Because going to a concert in the park or a graduation party is not considered hazardous behavior. And a big part of that cultural reality comes from an economically homogenous population where everyone is middle class or above and behaves accordingly.
Rich Black people don’t shoot up concerts; rich Hispanics don’t graduation parties; rich Hmongs don’t allow their children to be slackers in school. It’s not a race thing. It’s a behavior thing. Disruptive behavior is caused by lowlives – white trash of all races. I remember some researchers looked at homes of successful people. The homes were clean and well kept up. they looked at homes of unsuccessful people and found the homes were dirty and not well kept up. Their conclusion? Why, let’s clean the homes of unsuccessful people and presto! they will be successful. Isn’t it interesting that they didn’t look at culture. What characteristics are there in common between a clean house and success. We also see this in San Francisco where they spend billions trying to get bums into housing thinking that will solve the bums’ problems.
