Things Continue To Go Just Great!

Brooklyn Park WalMart to close:

Walmart spokesperson said after a “careful and thoughtful review process” the company made the “difficult decision” to close the location on Friday, April 21.

In a statement, they added that the store didn’t perform  “as well as we hoped” and didn’t meet the company’s financial expectations, but employees will be able to transfer to another store.

This follows on the heels of Target announcing they’ll be closing their Uptown mini-store. With that closing, the chain’s explanation made sense; the price of the land in Uptown was higher than the low-service mini-Target was worth.

For now.

As to Shingle Creek Crossing? It’s not land values. The shoplifting got it.

#Vibrant.

Social media droogs from Crocus Hill and Northeast are chortling, thinking the store will be turned into an abstract performance space or something.

  1. Geez, man, it’s Brooklyn Center, not Brooklyn Park.

Second of all, it’s on the site of the old Brookdale, which then became Blackdale (just spitting distance from North Mpls), which then collapsed. The Walmart was one of the “saviors” of the site – they got it probably for dirt. That site is now cursed.

Used to live around there. I’m writing this on a dining room table, repurposed as an office desk, that we bought at the Brookdale Dayton’s Home Store, Back when Brookdale was kind of the unknown Dale because it served the less well off north-side residents. Brooklyn Center was one of the working class first ring suburbs for WWII vets. Lots of ranch styles, big damn lawns (for the city).

  2. We do 95% of our grocery shopping at Walmart. The prices are far less than other chains. “Community members “ work and shop there. North Carolina has plenty of poor people but fewer professional thieves than Minnesota.

  3. The whole area is a classic sample of the decline of lower to middle class neighborhoods. I worked in the Camden area, starting in 1995, when the then-mayor promised that the north side would be cleaned up and revitalized. Many people bought into this promise, and invested in property over north (including my then employers). When I left in 2018, the entire area had disintegrated into a crime-ridden fast food ghetto. And that was 2018….

  4. The shoplifters that drove the closure of this Walmart will simply move to the next closest Walmart.
And it is not the losses due to actual theft that drive up costs, there are other costs involving anti-theft measures (like keeping athletic socks in a locked up display).

  5. You’re so right, Starbuck. Camden around Victory Memorial Dr was another little jewel.

  6. Let me tell y’all something…and you too, Merg.

This rampant rayciss is upsetting the SiTD diversity and compassion committee.

Poor Bikebubble and rAT are outraged…literally shaking rn. Blakpipul are not responsible for Walmart closing. Walmart was started by a pasty saltine man…why would he do that if he didn’t want blakpipul to steal that shit? Walmart is another trap, to keep blakpipul suffering.

    Staaahp it, saltine pipul!

  7. “You maga republicans disgust me! When was was America ever great? What about slavery, and Jim Crow, and the Chinese Exclusions Act? What about the KKK and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire?”

“Dude, I’m just talking about when there was a Walmart in Brooklyn Center.”

  8. Crimewatchmpls reports that the Lake Street transit station closed last week because it was occupied by homeless drug addicts has had its windows broken & has been reoccupied by homeless drug addicts #vibrancy

  9. AIUMMP, Crimewatch is the Minneapolis chapter of the KKK, I know this because I’m a Grand Dragon…just ask Bikebubble.

They follow blakpipul around until they are forced to steal a car, or hit an old woman, or rob a Quicky Mart and smoke the clerk because she was calling him nigger with her eyes, or jump the counter at Popeyes and beat the cook with a chair because they ran out of DAT SAWS again, or do any of the other hard things wipipul make blak Kings and Queens do, everyday.

    It’s all so unfair! 😭

  10. “New bill aims to make Minnesota a ‘sanctuary state’ for illegal immigrants
The bill aims to make Minnesota a “sanctuary state” for illegal immigrants by restricting “state and local officials from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement efforts.”

    LMAO!

    Cope and seethe, saltine pipul!

  11. Insurrekktion!
The bill aims to make Minnesota a “sanctuary state” for illegal immigrants by restricting “state and local officials from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement efforts.”

  12. Wlaz draws contrast between Minnesota and GOP led states

“The DFL governor said he wants to offer Minnesota as the alternative to conservative restrictions passing in other states.”

    Thank you Governor Walz! 👏
People need to know there are safe spaces for a degenerate parent to share pornographic books with their kids at bedtime, without triggering a child social services raid.

God knows rAT does his best to share the good news, but he can’t be everywhere at once…he’s got to get the yAChT ready to take AmeriCA’s CuP.

Seriously, grifting leftist degenerates like Walz are helping us to accelerate the Balkanization of Weimerica. 👍

  13. The publisher of the Star Tribune (Steve Grove) is literally a Walz political appointee.
I wonder how much the MN GOP would have to “moderate” to get the Strib’s endorsement?

  14. Dunno for sure, AIUMMP, but I bet making a video dancing in spike heel boots and a leather S&M suit wouldn’t hurt.

Maybe have consensual sex with a 10 year old boy?

  15. DeSantis to expand ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law to all grades

“TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ‘ administration is moving to forbid classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in all grades, expanding the controversial law critics call ”Don’t Say Gay” as the Republican governor continues to focus on cultural issues ahead of his expected presidential run”

I applaud the degenerates’ name for this legislation. “Gay” means carefree and happy. There is nothing carefree about spreading disease, rampant drug addiction and suffering mental illness.

I think high schools should teach kids the dangers of “Homosexual” degenerate sexual behavior…don’t say “Gay”.

    Take the English language back.

  16. Today’s Strib is a gold mine of on topic comments!

New Metro Transit police chief on public safety: ‘We have to strike a balance’

“Ernest Morales III says the transit system needs to strike a balance in making riders feel safe without victimizing the homeless and addicted”

What does that mean, exactly? Blak Kings might victimize a bum passed out on the choo choo, in a puddle of his own vomit with a kick to the head, but what’s a cop gonna do?

Is stepping around the mess “striking a balance”? Is taking a blunt away ” victimization”?

Just what the fuck do these people mean?

    Please explain, Bikebubble.

  17. The shoplifters that drove the closure of this Walmart will simply move to the next closest Walmart.

That would be 8000 Lakeland Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. In terms of the quality of the store:

    Elk River: 10
    Maple Grove: 8
    Eden Prairie: 7
    Bloomington: 5
    Lakeland Ave: 3
    Formerly Brookdale: 1

The clientele has a lot to do with that. However, so does the store management. This includes things like keeping the shelves stocked, organized, and straightened out. Keeping the grounds picked up and carts returned to the inside of the store.

I will say that the crew at Formerly Brookdale did get the store back into habitable condition a lot quicker than I thought they would after the Daunte Wright riots. I’m guessing a pissed off regional manager came and threatened the store manager and crew with lack of continued employment if it took too long to get the store ready to re-open.

  18. No idea what that “balance” is, Kremlin “Sheets” Tom. I’m as against tolerating shoplifting and such as anyone, and nobody’s doing anybody any favors by looking the other way when people steal. (like you do as Russia steals Ukrainian land, people, and resources, AHEM. )

I just part ways with you when you suggest that there is something inherent in the makeup of certain populations that predisposes them to this.

  19. The same things inherently prevents 85% of White people from committing the violent, heinous acts 72% of blacks commit.

IQ and an historically civilized culture. Some races have it, some don’t and no artificially prescribed application of “equity” or hand wringing virtue signaling will ever change that.

It’s no surprise you know nothing about it.

  20. We have 2 Walmarts within 15 miles of us. We call the one closest to us “gehttomart”, for obvious reasons. The other is in a much smaller neighboring town, with a predominantly White population.

I subscribe to our little town newspaper, and more than 1/2 of the stories in the ” crime” section involve the ghettomart.

This is the reality of living around blacks. Facts are not racist, and neither is truth.

  21. Welcome to being outed as anti-woke, BB!
Both the KKK & the woke believe that there is something inherent in “blackness” that makes them more inclined to being criminals. The difference is that the KKK believes the problem is hereditary, while the woke believe it is a result of white supremacy.
But both believe that criminal tendency is just part of being black.

  22. DeSantis is really throwing a spotlight on the sick agenda of CRT in the public. They are not just “teaching civil rights history” or “teaching about slavery.” They are teaching kids that society is made up of oppressor races and oppressed races. If they are on the dark side of the equation, they are screwed, they can never be treated fairly, and criminality of members of the oppressed class is inevitable. So the solution can never be “work hard, stay out of trouble, avoid drugs and alcohol,” it can only be “dismantle the systems of oppression known as capitalism and the United States of America.”
This is why minorities (like East Asians) who are successful are accused of being white. If you are successful, you are part of the oppressor class by definition.

  23. Repeat after me, “Sheets”; correlation is not causation.

UMMP, yes, agreed, the “wokeerati” do have quite a bit in common with the KKK, with the exception that the KKK took about a century to kill as many black people as the “woke” do in a year. If I were black, I’d be pleading with them to knock it off (both groups).

Come to think of it, even being fishbelly white, my plea is the same.

  24. I think the actual rule is: “Correlation does not prove causation.”

Every proven cause-and-effect relationship has a correlation of 1:1.

The question is whether “blacks aged 13-31” is a proven cause of “rampant crime.” Correlation might consist of considering crime reports and social media videos. Not sure how you prove causation. Maybe lock up more black people and see if crime rates drop?

  25. Go ahead with that plan, John. You’re just going to arrest a bunch of black males….um, for what?….and see what happens? Really?

Pro tip; most black males have not been arrested for, let alone convicted of a crime, so if you want to persuade blacks that they’re victims of “the man” for a few more generations, go ahead.

  26. The theory is that blacks (of either sex) aged 13-31 commit a vastly disproportionate number of crimes with respect to their representation in the population.

The proposed test of the theory is to arrest blacks who commit shoplifting, carjacking, and rioting at Popeyes, to see if that reduces the number of crimes by a similarly disproportionate amount. If so, we can conclude that the theory is sound.

If you don’t want to arrest people who are committing crimes because you are worried about the consequences of holding certain races responsible for their actions, I’m open to other suggestions to prove or disprove the theory. What’s your idea?

  27. Mr. Bubble is one of those nitwits you see on the news, squirting tears and screaming “Whyyyy?” when his kid gets beat to death by a roving pack of joggers for his cell phone.

  28. Good suggestion, bigman. I’d change the word arrest to punish (as in fine and/or incarcerate), because that’s a better test.

  29. … also because, as Crimewatch of Minneapolis has documented, the Minnesota Freedom Fund regularly bails out arrested (black) criminals who then go out and do more crimes. Sometimes even worse than the original crime.

  30. Ending the prison farm system was a huge mistake. Nobody that ever served time in Parchman farm, when it was a prison farm ever wanted to go back.

I’m a big fan of bringing them back.

  31. MFF bails out white criminals, too.
And the experiment Bigman suggests has been tried. It is what cleaned up NYC in the 90s, and its decline in the 2010s thru now shows you what happened.
When you are dealing with population studies you get statistical correlations, not cause and effect relationships.
You don’t need to do something terrible like institute a department of future crimes that takes skin color into account, you just need to put the blindfold back on Lady Justice and give her back her scale.

  32. “you just need to put the blindfold back on Lady Justice and give her back her scale.”

    Exactly. Well stated.

  33. Good call remembering those Giulinani years in NYC, UMMP.

MFF bails out white criminals, too.

Yeah, I know, that why I used the parentheses. Otoh, I don’t know of any of the famous get-out-and-do-it-again offenders, like Shawn Michael Tillman, who were not black. Your search skills may be better than mine tho’.

While I was searching, I saw an interesting suggestion from the Washington Examiner: Make wokeness expensive: Let victims sue organizations that bail out violent criminals.

  34. jdm;
Suing “non profit” organizations like MFF is a great idea. Is there any reason they can’t be? I don’t believe that they have exempt status from those. After all, that’s the only thing DemoCommies understand.

  35. ” Make wokeness expensive: Let victims sue organizations that bail out violent criminals.”
That is a great idea. I lived in Hawaii County (aka “the Big Island”) for years. Decades. There aren’t many black people that live in Hawaii county. But there is a criminal underclass. And it reminded me of the “hillbilly clans” you hear about. No matter what “our boy” has done, they wail & squeal about what a good boy he is. This is spoken by the people who physically and emotionally abused the boy for years.
Then throw racial animus into the mix. In Hawaii it is not white versus black, it is tan versus brown. But is as real as the white versus black dynamic on the mainland.

  36. The other week I listened to a podcast where the topic of national differences in behavior came up. The comment was made that while for some nationalities is makes sense to categorize people, Filipinos are the wild card of nationalities/races. They just always seem to get along with everybody else.
My own experience confirms this, in Hawaii you might meet a Filipino who was a bank president or a school teacher or a mechanic or a janitor. Ethnic Chinese were the same. Haoles were the same, but there was some self-filtering going on, since most of the haoles were US born & raised (like me) and could easily move back to the mainland to pursue career goals & personal interests. But local Japanese? Bureaucrats, politicians, engineers, and business owners. Also line chefs.
I had a portagee friend who told me that this was not always true, that until the 60s the local Japanese would inter marry like anyone else, but since then they had grown clannish, and become a management class in Hawaii that did not intermarry & sent their kids to college. Got no idea what was going on there, but matches my experience.

  37. I’ve heard that the Brooklyn Center Walmart had 6,000 police calls in the last year.
It would be really interesting to hear the story of a Walmart manager, the guy in charge of the store.
Glassdoor tells me they are paid $120k/year.

  38. FWIW, in that podcast where differences of national behavior came up, it was said that there were two groups of people you really wanted to dilute and not let them form a core group of more than about a dozen, because if you did they would organize & terrorize everyone else. The examples given were Sicilians and Chechens.
