I’ve got two daughters that did the full 50k state, the elder doing about 4:30 and the younger about 5:20. I want to do the “short” classic Kortelopet (30k) next year, we’ll see if my health and such complies.
OK, to the subject, back in the early 1970s, the AK wasn’t as much a feared gun in our country as it was a symbol of Communism, which I’d have to guess was the particular motivation of this particular protester. I went to West High School in Minneapolis in the 70s. Huge Native American student population, like 30%. I knew those guys. Lots of Indian girls in the sophomore class, not so many in the senior class because they could make money hooking. Indians would come down to Minneapolis from the reservation, party til they got in trouble, then run back to the reservation.
