So Many Questions

The Strib notes that the DFL is going on exactly the orgy of “progressive” legislating I (and everyone with a brain and a useful education) knew they would.

But I come not to talk policy.

I come to take optics.

Look at the photo:

I’ve got a couple of questions:

  • Is this the most badly posed “joy” photo you’ve ever seen?
  • What’s Lt. Governor Flanagan doing, not in costume?
  • Am I the only one who thinks these dailiy photo ops, with staged crowds of grinning rent-a-constituents, are starting to look just a liiiiitle North Korean?
  • Why does the governor look like his endoscopist told him he’s going to have to do the two-day cleanout process for his next colonoscopy?

  1. In my mind, this doesn’t look North Korean at all, because not only are all the participants white, but they’re also well-fed. OK, a little more than just well-fed.

But seriously, if the only people you can get to celebrate your new law are overweight white women, yes, I’d argue that there is something of an issue with broader appeal.

And regarding Governor Walz, having just gone through the procedure, he looks most like a person who’s in that uncomfortable bloated feeling right before the bowels just let loose. But Walz doesn’t know about this, because after a dose of GoLitely, there’d be nothing left of him.

  2. Both sides have lost their center. Hopefully Republican primary voters will consider the effects of their choice’s. They really need to learn how to ‘read the room’ … Attracting fringe leaning constituencies has the consequences of turning their party into nothing but an angry mob addicted to outrage, grievance and antagonism.

  3. They couldn’t find 1 80IQ EEOC champion to join their party?

    Of course not.

The string pullers know that their most mailable foot soldiers are White, college educated women.

This is exactly and precisely what men of the 19th century knew would happen.

  4. Oh! Here is rAT, fresh from his latest BIrkIE triumph!

Tell us, rAT, what was your finish time??

  5. Wait – someone is missing from the picture – but based on gov clink’s face ‘they’ must be under the table. 😉

  6. Minnesota’s obvious long term problem is that relatively wealthy older people are abandoning the state for warmer & less woke states, and these people are being being replaced by “revenue negative” poor people. Retired people are a boon to most states. They use few government resources, their income is recession proof, and they don’t need a job.
But carry on! You go for it, DFL!
Minnesotans are getting the government that they voted for.

  7. The DFl is committed to “net zero” by 2040.
Minnesota is responsible for 1.7 of US CO2 emissions.
This literally cannot happen without massive increase in energy costs. The “net zero” goal will make Minnesotans poorer.
The people of MN in 2023 have no right to commit the people of MN in 2040 to anything.
A little democracy would be nice, but of course the ruling class hates democracy.

  8. Forget the GOP, rAT. Tell us about stuff you’re an expert at.

How’d you place at the BirKie?

    What was your time??

  9. And the DFl, ever loving of “our democracy,” has done the typical thing and created a non-democratically authority to achieve their “net zero by 2040 goal.”

  10. Republicans are hilarious. They call Democrats “radical” but are by far the ones most out of step with the majority of Minnesotans (witness our last election). Their solution: become even more extreme, run more extreme candidates (election deniers, anti vaccine, religious zealots, white nationalists and conspiracy theorist — usually all wrapped up in one), act like brown shirt thugs at their own official proceedings and then wonder why they continue to lose ground and members of their party. Keep it up — I’m going to get popcorn. 🍿🍿

  11. Emery-“turning their party into nothing but an angry mob addicted to outrage, grievance and antagonism.” Have any proof of that, Emery? Seems the last angry mob I saw here was the one causing hundreds of millions of damages (by mostly peaceful protesters) after the Floyd incident. Do you proof read before posting?

  12. I think Kareem X Ellison is in the background, but otherwise it’s all white, mainly female. I don’t count Flanagan as Indian because I don’t see a feather. Maybe someday the minorities will awake to the fact they they are merely props in The Prairie Home Companion. Shut up, collect your checks and we’ll put you in the Condo ghetto.

  14. The keep getting a chuckle out of your stupidity and projection, Bot Boy. Nice that you stick to your overlord chairman Xi’s mantra.

AUMMP is totally correct. Many of my friends that have retired, but haven’t already bailed, have had enough of the combination shit show/clown show in St. Paul. In fact, many of their woke kids have, too. Eight left permanently after the communists took full control and six more are leaving this year. Combined, ten of their kids and their spouses are also leaving. These young adults aren’t exactly living check to check, either. Funny! The ones that voted the commies into office, see what they have wrought. Personally, I think they should stay here and suffer the consequences, then help reverse it, but that’s just me.

  15. By the way. You know that DemoCommie governments suck when the governor/dictator’s in-laws move from his communist controlled state to a red state, then donates to the campaign of that state’s governor. Classic!

  16. rAT!

It’s your time to shine. So what was your finish time in Teh BiRKiE? How did you place?

Simple questions, unless you’ve been fucking lying again…..have you been lying again, rAT?

  17. Tom — if you weren’t such a weak troll I’d tell you my exact time and finish position. But that’s not the case — you’ll have to troll harder in order to dox me. The leader finished a few minutes over 2 hours (2:05) and I was a bit south of 1 hour behind him. You’ll have your work cut out for you — there’s about 200 skiers in that range and I would guess at least 150 of them from Minnesota.

  18. So, you lied, again.

There isn’t one person that believes a fucking thing you say, rAT….well, except maybe Bikebubble.

No wonder you have to hide, like a rAT.

  19. You’re a pathetic, pathological liar rAT. The only shredding you do is to the truth. You’ve accomplished nothing you can point to with pride.

    That’s an established fact.

You could never afford to have your identity known…you must hide in the garbage, like a 🐀

  20. ^^ Nearly 70 years old and you’re still performing the Internet troll shtick…. Sad really

  21. Funny how the guy posting (plagiarizing) the latest leftist talking points calls the right “conspiracy theorists.”

  22. i wouldn’t mind so much if some of that spending orgy money made its way back into my pocket, perhaps in the form of a tax rebate.

The frustrating part of the DFL spending orgy is missing out because I’m not a liberal democrat union member.

  23. ^^ Hilarious— the next time someone accuses liberal reporters or executives of “woke” media companies of trying to help elect Democrats, this might be relevant.

“During Trump’s campaign, Rupert provided Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, with Fox confidential information about [Joe] Biden’s ads, along with debate strategy,” the filing reads. In a parenthetical, it explains some or all of that confidential information as “providing Kushner a preview of Biden’s ads before they were public.”

  24. BH: Sadly, your friends who can no longer stand what they voted for and fled this hellhole, will not see that it was their voting that destroyed this state. They’ll keep voting D in whatever new state they move to, and will start bringing destructive policies to their new state as well. It’s happening all over the south and the west. MT, NM, and AZ have D governors (notwithstanding the allegations of and lawsuits over election fraud by Repub contender Kari Lake). Colorado is hopelessly gone. Even South Carolina has liberal pockets in their larger cities as Blade has described more than once.

ND and SD are still pretty reliably conservative (excepting Kristi Noem who has never seen a Chamber of Commerce she isn’t willing to sell out to…she was all for Sanford Health’s massive push to trans the kids until someone recently opened her eyes to electoral realities), but I ascribe that to the fact that 80-90% of the geography of those 2 states is flat.

  25. Bill C – some of us have voted conservative our entire lives, only to be told by the former governor that if we don’t want to live in Mogadishu, we should leave.

    Those terms are acceptable.

  26. I’m on the retirement countdown. I’m not sure where we’re going to live, but it’s for damn sure not going to be Minnesota.

I am investigating options as well. And what Bigman said, too.

  27. Warms my heart to see the backlash on TWATTER to the marxist ERIN MURPHY the puke. Fok all of these worthless pukes.

  28. Bigman, I’m also right there with you. I want out of this hellhole in 5 years tops. But at the rate that the DFL is feeling its oats now that they control everything, we may not last that long.

Banning bottled water? AYFKM? I fully expect that before the end of the year, the DFL will pass legislation mimicking NY Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposal: “Under Hochul’s proposed plan, new residential and commercial buildings would be all-electric by 2025 and 2030, respectively, while gas sales to existing residential and commercial buildings would be halted by 2030 and 2035, respectively.”

That means that by 2030 – 7 years – every single house in NY state will have to convert their furnace from gas to electric. There is no way there will be enough product supply nor labor, to pull off millions of conversions. Especially since most people will wait until the last minute.
