Deathless Art

Oh.

The art dealer representing Hunter Biden said the president’s son had the potential to be one of the most influential painters of the modern era, but declined to say whether he’d cooperate with a congressional investigation into sales of the art.

Georges Bergès, who has been overseeing the sale of Biden’s paintings, said the 53-year-old would ‘become one of the most consequential artists in this century.’

His comments came as the New York Post pressed him on whether he would comply with requests from the House Oversight Committee, which asked to see the names of individuals who purchased Biden’s artwork and the price they paid for it.

It’s art. You wouldn’t understand, peasants.

When The Post asked Bergès whether or not he intended to cooperate, the art dealer declined to comment and instead waxed poetic about the heights of Biden’s artistic prodigy.

‘I represent Hunter Biden because I feel that not only his art merits my representation, but because his personal narrative, which gives birth to his art, is very much needed in the world,’ he said.

‘His is a story of perseverance; Hunter’s story reflects what I believe is the beauty of humanity, judged not by the fall, but by having the strength to rise up, by having the character required to change and the courage to do it.’

The worst thing about current events is, unlike books, you can’t skip to the end to see how i t

  1. …reflects what I believe is the beauty of humanity, judged not by the fall, but by having the strength to rise up, by having the character required to change and the courage to do it.’

Not gonna lie. That’s the prettiest description of a greasy bugger that you just can’t flick off your finger I’ve ever read.

  2. What surprised me is that the NYP reporter didn’t just bust out laughing at the stupidity of his statements. I’m hoping that more than a couple of art sellers are doubting the idiot’s expertise.

  3. Hunter Biden has never had a job that was not conditional on being Slow Joe’s son.
    Wikipedia:
After graduating from law school in 1996, Biden accepted a consultant position at the bank holding company MBNA, whose employees donated more than $200,000 into Joe Biden’s senate campaigns.[12][21] MBNA’s hiring of Biden was controversial because his father had pushed for credit card legislation which was beneficial to the credit card industry and was supported by MBNA during Biden’s time at the bank.[22][23] The legislation made it more difficult to get bankruptcy protection.[23] This led to Byron York of National Review referring to Joe Biden, years later, as “the senator from MBNA” referencing the close relationship between the two.[24][25] By 1998, Hunter Biden had risen to the rank of executive vice president at MBNA.[12] Biden departed from MBNA in 1998.[26] He then left to serve at the United States Department of Commerce, focusing on ecommerce policy for President Bill Clinton’s administration.[27] Biden then became a lobbyist, co-founding the firm of Oldaker, Biden & Belair.[28] According to Adam Entous of The New Yorker, Biden and his father established a relationship in which “Biden wouldn’t ask Hunter about his lobbying clients, and Hunter wouldn’t tell his father about them.”[12]
Hunter Biden was appointed to a five-year term on the board of directors of Amtrak by President George W. Bush in 2006.[29] Biden was the board’s vice chairman from July 2006 until 2009; he was replaced as Vice Chairman in January[30] and resigned from the board in February,[31] shortly after his father became vice president. Biden said during his father’s vice-presidential campaign that it was time for his lobbying activities to end.[12]

  4. I’ll always have warm feelings toward Hunter, because Trump’s diverted focus likely cost him the election. The only people I know who care about Hunter are rabid Trump fans. The vast middle doesn’t seem at all interested.

House GOP hauls in former Twitter execs. The larger target: Biden
    https://www.axios.com/2023/02/08/twitter-executives-house-hearing-hunter-biden-laptop

The House Republicans are going all in on political theater, but tilting at windmills is not going to get them either votes or legislation in the end.

And the Hunter obsession will likely undo the Republicans again in 2024.

    Only losers care about this.

  5. Emery

Once again steps up to show us how he truly is the morally superior being. Emery, be what you pretend to be and answer this question…

At what point in your mother’s pregnancy with you would it have become unacceptable for her to abort you?

  6. You can’t talk about Hunter Biden without mentioning his father.
The weird thing is that I’ve never read anything good about H Biden. No tales of courage or kindness, nothing good at all, drunk or sober. I recommend reading his wikipedia bio. He fits the stereotype of the spoiled rich who hates and needs his father. He doesn’t seem to have had any relationships that weren’t bought.
The usual rule applies — whatever they don’t want to talk about (H Biden’s business ties with J Biden) is what you need to talk about all day long.

  7. ⬆️ Same way you get a job in the White House —you’re either the daughter and/or son-in-law of the President or the son of the President’s personal lawyer.
    https://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/andrew-giuliani-hired-trump-white-house-235718

Everyone who cares about Hunter Biden or his laptop would fit into a single Trump monster truck rally.

I have no idea why conservatives are clinging to the past, like Biden’s story, and not reinventing our country’s future.

  8. emery bleated: “I have no idea…”

is that also your answer to this question?
At what point in your mother’s pregnancy with you would it have become unacceptable for her to abort you?

  9. we are interested in the past instead of reinventing the future because our country has no future until you comprehend that america as we knew it was mortally wounded in november 2020, when we watched the election being stolen in real time, and died in january 2021, when a usurper was installed as unelected ruler.

the history of the usurper and his family selling american interests for personal gain is an essential part of understanding why and how america died to be replaced by an unelected oligarchy holding up a mindless puppet

it is an essential part of understanding why the usurper gave billions of dollars worth of first world military equipment to the taliban and billions of dollars to iran despite them being committed to the destruction of our nation

it is an essential part of understanding why the usurper continues to give billions of dollars of first world money and military equipment to the side which lost the war in ukraine, a war the usurper greenlighted before it began

it is an essential part of understanding why the usurper is still the ruler despite being manifestly incapable of understanding his daily whereabouts, much less conducting the duties of his office

once ordinar americans understand and accept that hunter is not an isolated example of a messed up son but is the epitome of a culture of corruption which is pervasive in washington And They All Know It, then it might be possible to start draining the swamp, cut back to constitutional government, by prosecuting or simply lampposting federal officials working against american interests to line their own pockets

  10. Lol to the troll. Repeated polls have proven that had the laptop story not been censored by the gummint, the election would have gone to Trump.

So close troll, yet, ah hell nah, you’re not even in the same universe.

  11. ⬆️ You mean the selection of files Musk gave to selected journalists, who then published their own selection of the selection, that show how the ultra-woke anti-American communists at Twitter willingly collaborated with Trump’s Department of Defense? The ones that contained, as even Matt Taibbi admitted, no evidence of government involvement in the Hunter Biden laptop controversy?

  12. Back to the subject, every art salesman is going to praise the artists whose work he’s selling, and for which he is receiving a commission. The true value of an artists’ work is set by buyers and critics, not gallery owners and salesmen.

The very fact that the left is trumpeting the testimony of a salesman is evidence that they are fundamentally deceptive about this matter.

  13. Sooooo….just out of interest…..is there virtually anything Hunter Biden is allowed to do for a living while his father is president?

  14. Emery; absolutely. Hunter could theoretically get a real job where his status as son of the President doesn’t matter. Gonna be difficult, though, when the whole country knows he’s a crackhead whoremonger who’s in his fifties and has never held a real job that he earned. HR’s not gonna like that.

  15. Yes, we acknowledge that Hunter Biden was a hot mess. At the end of the day, he inflicted a lot of angst on himself and his family. How does this affect the American people, again? It doesn’t, other than to smear Joe Biden and his family.

Trump and his children flaunted the laws of this country, and there are few (if any) repercussions to them. Meanwhile, Hunter Biden is raked over the coals for far less. Republicans claim there is a bias, but it sure seems to support them more often than not.

  16. Emery,
    While you once again attempt to establish your moral superiority why don’t you take the time to answer this question;

At what point in your mother’s pregnancy with you would it have become unacceptable for her to abort you?

  17. Wait, Trump violated the laws of our country en masse, and Biden/Garland aren’t going after him in a serious way for it?

Not buyin’ it, Emery. Maybe you need to learn the difference between “unfounded allegations” and “evidence”. Might be good for you.

  18. How does this affect the American people, again?

When Hunter Biden is susceptible, via his addictions to drugs, alcohol, and fathering illegitimate children, to coercion by a domestic or foreign enemy of the US, one must ask the question of whether that coercion can extend to powerful members of his family.

As you stated, your head’s rent-free tenant had members of his family in positions of power, and scrutiny of both his and his family’s business dealings continues even 2 years after his departure from office.

So why the double standard? Does Hunter have access to the White House? Did he have access to classified documents in that garage? Was his board membership for Burisma a political favor to then-Vice-President Biden? Did those dealings in the past create a political obligation for the president to commit resources, at a cost of billions, to Ukraine in the present?

  19. ⬆️ “Flaunting the laws” — is a bit different than “violating the laws” — wouldn’t you say? If you’re going to quote me at least have the courtesy to do so accurately.

The difference between Mr and Mrs Jared Kushner and Hunter Biden is that Hunter never worked in the White House or for the Federal Government. Yet not a peep from the MAGA crowd about this.

“Six months after leaving the White House, Jared Kushner secured a $2 billion investment from a fund led by the Saudi crown prince, a close ally during the Trump administration, despite objections from the fund’s advisers about the merits of the deal.” ~ WSJ

    Also:
“When the Kushner Companies purchased 666 Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan in early 2007 for a record-breaking price of $1.8 billion, it was supposed to be a center of their real estate portfolio. Instead, the Kushners have struggled to cover their debt on the troubled building since shortly after its purchase on the eve of the financial crisis. As Jared Kushner’s father-in-law, Donald J. Trump, was running for President, the Kushners were pitching Qatari investors to help bail out the building. And just weeks after his father Charles reportedly failed to reach a deal with Qatar’s minister of finance, Jared Kushner, in his capacity as a senior adviser to President Trump, reportedly played a central role in supporting a blockade of Qatar by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Kushner never disclosed his meeting with Saudi Arabia and the UAE on the blockade to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at the time. Later, a financial company tied to Qatar brokered an especially valuable deal to rescue the Kushner Companies’ property at 666 Fifth Avenue” ~ Just Security

Ivanka’s Trademark Requests Were Fast-Tracked In China After Trump Was Elected ~ AP

“The Chinese government granted 18 trademarks to companies linked to President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump over the last two months, Chinese public records show, raising concerns about conflicts of interest in the White House.” ~ AP

Nepotism and cronyism have a long history in Washington and elsewhere. SiTD selectively saves its outrage until it gets its chanting points from their right wing overlords.

  20. And none of that means squat compared to the fact that a guy who’s never held an honest job in his life is getting sweetheart deals from foreign governments and companies right after his dad visits. You’re saying, Emery, that anytime Jared Kushner gets a good deal, that’s evidence of collusion. That’s nonsense.

What we should be saying regarding these cases is that there’s a real question of whether the Chinese trademark office is deliberately slowing applications from foreign entities until the press gets too bad. Address the real corruption here.

  21. No, I’m saying it’s cronyism and nepotism. I think it’s fair to say that Trump’s daughter and son in-law would never had the opportunity to receive these sweetheart deals had their father (father-in-law) not been in the WH.

  22. Emery, pro tip for you. When you’re claiming nepotism because people who’ve made a career of multi-billion dollar deals make a couple more multi-billion dollar deals, it’s generally a good idea to, say, actually provide some evidence that differentiates the current multi-billion dollar deals from previous deals.

Again, you want nepotism, take a look at the crackhead whoremonger who’s never held an honest job in his life, not President Trump’s daughter and son-in-law.
