And There Was (Literally) Rejoicing
By Mitch Berg
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced her departure from office on Wednesday (US time).
Socialists and eggheads golf-clapped the end of her regime, filled with some of the most draconian and ill-advised Covid responses in the world, atop years of socialist knob-jiggling. .
I know, the video below is a fake. I don’t care. It reflects my feelings exactly.
Why is she leaving?
I don’t care. For right now, it’s sufficient that she is leaving.

Its fake. Look at the screen on the phone at the end; not the same image.
Probably people cheering sports ball in a bar.

Funny thing . . . in Israel the pro & anti lockdown forces were politically split as in the US, but in the opposite way. Israeli conservatives were pro lockdown, Israeli leftists were anti lockdown.

Its fake.
As stipulated in the third graf:
“I know, the video below is a fake”
It’s apparently a brit soccer crowd.
It’s too good to fact-check, though.

This from the party that locked you in your home, forced you to wear a mask, and forced you to get vaxxed before going into public spaces.
These are also the people who believe that boys can menstruate.

Ardern isn’t the next Messiah or anywhere close to it. She had a horrible lockdown, but so did most countries, and most leaders of all political stripes. Yes NZ followed a Chinese “keep it out” route but realized that was untenable much sooner than China, and didn’t weld people into their apartments.
What she projected, at least to me, was the sense that a leader should represent a country and its values, not be a representative of a political party that demonizes other opposition political parties and those daft enough to vote for them. She did show that she understood the New Zealand people, and wanted to work as one of them.
I do believe her when she says she no longer has the energy and ambition to be PM. As a parent and someone who has retired, it is perfectly OK with me if someone says “my priorities have changed, and it is time for someone new to have a go”.
All the other accusations (green credentials overriding economic sense, virtue signaling, inability to apologize etc) may have some merit, but have been amplified by a hostile press.
Enjoy your time with your family. Money and power never love you back.

Woolly, Woolly WoollyâŚ. Six months ago wasnât it all about handing the choice back to the states. Since that backfired on republicans they now want national restrictions put in place. Sorry, you canât have your cake and eat it also.
Go ahead and push for them. If you think the backlash in 2022 hurt you wait until 2024.

EMERY: Abortion is not just a health care choice like deciding whether or not to get a vaccine. Abortion means the death of a fetus— a small fetus may be sucked out of the womb or an older fetus can be brutally pulled from the womb and then stabbed in the back of the neck with a sharp scalpel. Sometimes the fetus lives. The actual process is brutal Emery. So stop with your “this is simply a health choice”.
Forgotten are the fathers and grandparents of this fetus. Many times, the female has not even told the father or grandparents that she is pregnant.

When did your life become something other than chattel for your mother to dispose of at her whim?
January 20th, 2023 at 1:31 pm
What kind of entitlement on the body of another does a human have?
The question at the heart of the abortion debate is misleading and unfortunate. It’s only at the heart of the debate for those who support forcing girls and women to bear children against their will, regardless of circumstances, and without due process of law.
The actual heart of the debate is whether girls and women are human beings with equal rights under law. In several States we’re no longer allowed to exercise our own beliefs, anyway.
Let us concede the argument that a two-celled blastocyst is an individual life, whether we believe it, or not.
In morality and in law, a person has the right to take the life of another in self-defense, or in defense of another. Abortion is not even the “taking” of a life; it’s the decision not to give it, out of a womanâs own body.
In morality and in law, no person has the right to use another person’s body against their will to stay alive. It’s admirable when people risk and even sacrifice their safety, health and lives for others. But it’s not compulsory.
Not even for women.

“In morality and in law, no person has the right to use another personâs body against their will … “
What you seem to be implying is that there is no time when a woman is not permitted to kill her child.
But, you still haven’t answered the question
When did your life become something other than chattel for your mother to dispose of at her whim?

Emery mewled “In morality and in law, no person has the right to use another personâs body against their will to stay alive. “
The only ethical argument that can be made in this vein is when the woman was raped. When a woman consents to sex she implicitly accepts the likelihood of pregnancy and childbirth, just as her male partner does. That implicit acceptance on the part of the woman fully demolishes the notion that the woman is being “forced against her will” to endure a pregnancy. If she wants to be a fuck bunny then she should get a tubal ligation. Actions have consequences Emery.

Indeed. When is it no longer acceptable for a mother to wish to play Texas Chainsaw Massacre on her unborn child? To the left, it’s right up until the head pops out, and there are those who think it’s perfectly acceptable even after that.

rAT,, does your mom have the right to come to your squalid little squat and end you tomorrow?
If not, why?
When, exactly, did her rights as a WoMYn become moot? Can she end your worthless spawn, by extrapolation?
If not, why not?
Explain the rules of lawful health care to us, rAT.

rAT pontificated: “Let us concede the argument that a two-celled blastocyst is an individual life, whether we believe it, or not.
In morality and in law, a person has the right to take the life of another in self-defense, or in defense of another. Abortion is not even the âtakingâ of a life; itâs the decision not to give it,”
This is a great example of what happens when rAT attempts to put his meagre intellect to practical use.
In the first paragraph, rAT concedes a blastocyst is an individual life. Then, with the witless flourish for which he’s best known, he suggests a woman *still* has the right to decide whether to bestow life upon that which he’s just conceded has already attained it.
A careful rereading of his own ignorant spew wouldn’t help rAT. He’s incapable of recognizing his own ignorance…it’s one of the core symptoms of the Dunning Kruger effect.

Emery to me:
Go ahead and push for them. If you think the backlash in 2022 hurt you wait until 2024.
This is nuts. The only comments I have made about the midterms & abortion was to note that in WI in 2022, despite extremely strict anti-abortion laws, and despite the Dems running heavily on a pro-abortion theme, the GOP kept the US senate seat that was on the ballot, flipped a Dem seat in the US congress to GOP, and increased its near veto proof majority in both the state house & senate.
Emery is delirious. He literally believes that his hallucinations are real.
Emery also does not seem to understand that the GOP gained control of the US house, and in terms of popular vote, won 53%-47% over the dems. The GOP gained US house seats in both the 2020 & 2022 elections.
Emery’s comment could not have been more wrong about the facts.
