Anniversary Notes

What about this time 21 years ago, Americans were united in a way they had not been since the VJ day; President Bush’s popularity rating was climbing towards 90% faster than an F//15 scrambling to find a bogey.

And we were pretty sure we knew who the enemy was.

I have a hunch that if 9/11 were to happen today, the leftist dominant culture in our country would ruefully admit we deserve – – unless it happened in red America in which case it would be positively celebrated.

  1. I don’t know if you follow alternative German media like I follow alt Scandi media, but Europe is, has been, and will continue suffering their own 9/11 by a 1000 cuts every year.

How else to explain the change in, say, Sweden from one of the safest countries in the world (almost to the point of boring) to one of the most dangerous in Europe? If not for the glaring example presented by Sweden, this change would be noticed in Denmark and Norway too.

As per your hunch about 9/11, the leftist dominant culture in Europe ensures that no one discusses these changes. Indeed, as is the case with a number of Danish bloggers who attempted to bring these changes to light, that culture will go so far as to sic the police on them in early morning raids and arrests with computer confiscation. And all without any resolution over months.

But for the less resistant, simple accusations of racism and xenophobia work just fine to keep the majority in line. All the while celebrating the diversity that all these changes have wrought.

  2. As Yogi says, predictions are difficult, especially about the future. If 9/11 happened now, there wouldn’t have been the backstory of WMD and the Iraq invasion, which definitely fueled the anti-American tendencies within the left. That begs the question of the historical trail between 2001 and today. I agree that the venomous heartbeat of progressivism has quickened during that period. Would Obama have been elected without the Iraq War to put him on a catapult to success? Or would he have found it more difficult to conceal his far-left tendencies and not seduced a gullible war-weary public? Without Obama, Biden remains a mendacious loudmouth crypto pedophile interested mainly in enriching himself and family.

  3. The Muslim population of the US is about 67% higher than it was on 9/11. Most of these new Muslim Americans are foreign born or the children of foreign born immigrants.
If the federal government was at war with America, how would it look different?

  4. I’m wondering, 21 years having past 9/11, what exactly it is Patriots believe the United States has that is still worth fighting to save?

    Please enlighten me.

“Swedish Journalist Ingrid Carlqvist Arrested for the ‘Hate Crime’ of Journalism”

Ingrid Carlqvist and Maria Celander, who were formerly mainstream journalists who now work independently, are being taken to court on November 2, 2020. The pair faces up to two years in prison.

About a year ago, a woman contributed an article to the site questioning what would happen if there was a shortage of drugs considering the disproportionate number of Muslim pharmacists in Sweden. The question was based on her knowledge of Islamic law (Sharia), which teaches Muslims to prioritize Muslims. In the case of a drug shortage, would drugs be given to Muslims before others?

After six months, Ingrid Carlqvist and her colleague were “called to police” in relation to the article. When Ms. Carlqvist noted that they did not even write the post in question, police stated that they published the hypothetical question, and that was enough to charge the pair with a crime. The question posed in the piece, which Ingrid Carlqvist found to be a credible one, was deemed “incitement to ethnic groups, a sort of racism, a hate crime,” she told RAIR. “At first I thought they were just going to drop it, because it’s absolutely crazy. We are journalists, for God’s sake,” she said.

“It is not a coincidence that they are coming after me and my colleague,” Ingrid explained. Swedish Journalists nowadays are nothing more than “propagandists,” she said. Ms. Carlqvist believes that they are being targeted to “send a signal to other journalists” who would dare to engage in truthful reporting instead of parroting an approved narrative.”

  6. Hayward cites the Financial Times:

In the past decade, Sweden has gone from having one of the lowest per capita rates of deadly shootings in Europe to the highest, according to data from the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention. This year is on track to be a record for fatal shootings with a total of 44 deaths by mid-August, not far off the previous peak of 47 in 2020.

Law and order, once dismissed as a gang-on-gang phenomenon confined to the immigrant-heavy poor suburbs, is among the top priorities for Swedish voters, according to polling companies. . .

The nationalist Sweden Democrats who appear to be benefiting from the focus on crime, having long warned that the country’s open immigration policies up until 2015 would lead to growing violence. The rise in shootings has been linked to turf wars between drug gangs founded by immigrants. . .

“For many years, we [the Sweden Democrats] were silenced. It wasn’t taken seriously by politicians or the media,” he [Jimmie Åkesson, Sweden Democrat leader] said, adding there were growing signs of parallel societies and even local versions of sharia law.

Of course, the Sweden Democrats party is “like Hitler”, per the lefty parties.

  7. Blade, I fear that we have exchanged “America, Land of the Free and the Home to the Brave” for “America, the Going Concern.”

  8. Night Writer, for what it’s worth (and at this moment I don’t see any final election results), a Danish blogger I know said that the districts that have not completed counting “are the most populous in and around the cities and they are overwhelmingly red (leftist). The ghettos have 10-20000 residents and they are 90& red” (er de mest folkerige i og omkring byerne, og de er overvejende røde. Ghettoerne har 10-20.000 indbyggere, og de er 90% røde). He expects that the Social Democrats will retain power by kow-towing to the “Moderates”.

PS He was also one of the (first) bloggers who got a morning visit from Danish police.

  9. NW, it looks like libturds the world over use the same playbook…
:Fix Is In? Mail-In and Overseas Votes Could Overturn Right’s Narrow Lead in Swedish Election
…and why I will not be counting my 2022 election chickens just yet.

  10. Night Writer, the Muslim and African hoards that have descended upon Europe will never assimilate. They plan on forcing the White European population to do the assimilating, and the White, leftist reprobates are helping them with that work.

There is a tipping point, where it will no longer be possible to maintain Western standards of civilization; Europe is almost there, and the US isn’t far behind.

I’ve said it many times; people won’t lift a finger until the pain of not lifting it exceeds lifting it. In the US, that means when everyone’s “stuff” is clearly in jeopardy of being lost; because everyone loves their stuff more than life itself. When that happens, it’s going to get wild.

  11. The goal of the elites is to disempower voters while empowering the vote counters.
“Sure, your guy is ahead by 3%, but the votes from long term care homes, and the mail in votes still in the postal system haven’t been counted yet, so come back next week and the vote counters will tell you the winner.”
Public trust in government has gone way down since we opened up same day registration and early voting:

  12. There is a tipping point, where it will no longer be possible to maintain Western standards of civilization; Europe is almost there, and the US isn’t far behind

I agree that this is the ultimate end-point (see the water situation in Jackson, MS), but the recent EU energy troubles are pushing another angle. The amount of money needed this winter to pay for the EU energy experiments over the past 20 years means less to no money to finance these diversity experiments. And when the free money dries up watch all those poor refugees head for home.

  13. a young Swedish Nationalist

Interesting. Thanks. I have seen a lot of people like him. I wish him well. It is one nasty hill he and those like him have to climb.

  14. At the time of 9/11 I had a desk calendar with thoughtful quotes. The one for 9/11 was from Jerry Brown, former (and future) Governor of California, it read:

“Inaction may be the biggest form of action“

Humans are biased to action, so doing nothing is hard, but it’s often the best thing to do.

In the 20 years since I’ve often reflected on this particularly as we have seen well intended actions have unexpected consequences — most recently in Afghanistan.

  15. UMMP, “no excuse”, mail in and absentee balloting guaranteed our elections would be forever tainted.

We cannot vote ourselves out of this mess.

  16. jdm, if hill climbing is involved, that guy is the guy for the job. He’s a frickin’ monster.

  17. less to no money to finance these diversity experiments

Watcha talkin’ about, willis? They’ll just print more!

  18. He’s a frickin’ monster.

Speaking of monsters, Pierre Poilievre was just elected a Tory leader in Kanadeh. Li;’ Castro immediately went on the air to say he will not allow Poilievre to exist.

  19. One of the reasons why early voting and absentee voting is bad is that allows both sides to adjust their legally strategy to challenge ballots in real time. If all the people who voted on election day in person voted for the other guy 55% over your guy 45%, and 30% of the votes remain to be counted, you set your legal team to work to exclude uncounted votes from precincts likely to vote for the other guy.

  20. ^^ And: Don’t give those spaces over to the people who want to intimidate the voters and election workers.

  21. ^^more blather. If you have something to say, say, it, because your snippets of plagiarized materials are meaningless to people named something other than “Emery.”
I mean, the alternative is to believe that you are saying that mail in ballots signed with no witnesses are less likely to have been influenced by partisan actors, and I hope that even you aren’t that stupid.

  22. Just an aside — when I lived in Hawaii, I, of course, voted in person on election day, because that is what men do. Take a day off, if you must, have picnic afterwards. For most Americans, going to a polling place is the only time you will actually meet political America, in all of their weirdness.
Hawaii is a very corrupt state, led by corrupt democrats, but it has very strict election laws.
The reason that Hawaii has very strict election laws is that back in territorial days, the ruling Republicans used the loosey-goosey election laws to their advantage. For example, the Republicans would tally the votes after every vote cast in plantation precincts, so they knew how everyone voted.
Anyway, under Hawaii’s strict election laws, no one was allowed to campaign within 50 of a polling place, something like that. This was to prevent political operatives from haranguing and threatening voters as they entered the polling place.
The last time I voted in Kona it was kind of a keystone cops routine.
Some Hawaiian activists were promoting their candidate around the polling place, Kealakehe Middle School. The Hawaiian activists were in the parking lot, chanting and singling out voters. They were breaking the law.
But the poll workers at Kealakehe Intermediate School were volunteers, and they were mostly old, tiny, nissei Japanese women, because old nissei women dominate the phalanxes of volunteers for public events in Hawaii. They like to work together, each working no harder than necessary, and at the end of the day, produce together something measurably positive. It’s amazingly productive, as long as everyone follows the teamwork protocol — never be a drag on the team, always make a positive contribution towards achieving the goal, don’t try to dominate by producing so much above average that you trying to appear better than the other team members.
But at Kealekehe Middle School that election day you had this spectacle of fretting, elderly, nissei women debating whether they should call the cops, or confront the angry, three hundred pound Hawaiian activist shouting at voters through a bull horn just outside the hall where people were casting their votes.
