Crisis Management

An apparent teenager was shot and killed on the Nicollet Avenue LRT platform on Tuesday afternoon, in broad daylight, during a Twins game.

Minneapolis’s progressives sprang into action against the real problem

…which is apparently “people who point out that Minneapolis has a problem”.

If only people would stop talking about crime, it wouldn’t be a problem, would it?

  1. The photo says it all. The criminals own downtown. Cops are there to process crime scenes and haul away corpses. Feckless Frey will continue to mumble his social justice word salads.

  2. Does perennial moron Aaron Rupar even live here anymore? I doubt that any of the commenters actually live in the city, either.

  3. If the crime continues, people coming here for their abortions may think it’s too dangerous and go somewhere else.

Comment of the day, very early on.

  5. According to Aaron Rupar’s bio, his net worth is north of $2 million.

Kind of explains why his Minneapolis is real nice.

Yup! With crime running rampant, with a drastic increase under his watch, he focuses on prosecuting baby killers coming to Murderapolis for an abortion. I haven’t been able to find any cases involving someone crossing state lines to get one, in over twenty years. So, once again, an ignorant DemoCommie “solves” a “problem” that doesn’t exist.

  7. The only time the degenerates like Mpls in the news is when it’s on fire.

  8. You know what MPLS needs to stop all this carnage? Well, more gun control, of course! And to do a gun buyback program like the idiot (minus savant) mayor of Houston: One man showed up to the buyback with dozens of 3D-printed firearms, and Houston authorities had no choice but to accept them and hand over gift cards in return. The real kicker: it only cost the man $3 to print each firearm, of which he made 62, and received $50 per 3D-printed gun for a total of nearly $3,000 in gift cards.

  9. I saw the original article in the Strib (of course, no comments allowed). The shooting wasn’t just “in broad daylight” and “during a Twins game”. It was at 5:30 p.m., and at the LRT station I used to use in my daily commutes.

Welcome back downtown, office workers! We love you! We need you! But please, shut up!”

  10. NW: or “Welcome back, and….take cover!”

It’s worth noting that Minneapolis is now “achieving” the kind of crimes seen in Chicago and Detroit. Usually you try to keep crime away from the crown jewels of downtown, but apparently that’s too much to ask now.

  11. Late breaking news: Mall of America on lockdown because of shots fired. Hmmmm. I thought MOA banned guns. The nerve of some people. Probably some white supremacy rednecks with assault rifles.

  12. I usually watch the KSTP morning news. Didn’t the local news used to start with crimes of violence, especially gun violence? now they kind of stick them in before or after the weather report, at least on KSTP.
Most of the gun violence in the Twin Cities seems to be gang related, but you’d never know that from watching the news.

  13. Re: the Mall of America shooting…

“One video appeared to show a man yelling outside a Nike store on the second level of the mall, followed by what sounded like three gunshots”

Those White Supremacists and their damned shoes!

  14. MOA update; shots fired, at least one person injured. Evidently two street gangs decided to mix it up there.

Looks like those no guns signs are working great.

  15. Stereotypes anyone? Two gangs get into a fight at the Nike store. A year ago I was in the Nike store downtown Chicago. More security than at the Pentagon. Is there an elephant in the room?

Everyone knows this was a gang fight, but you won’t hear the word “gang” mentioned on the broadcast news. And while the shooters are all black, and there is a BOLO out for them, the word “black” does not appear in the description of the shooters. but they did note that the suspects are young!
BTW, Bloomington PD keeps meticulous records of the age, race, and sex or every person they pull over for a traffic stop. It’s when people start shooting that their race vanishes.

  17. OK, we don’t list the race of the perpetrators in the reports, and then we wonder why we’re not convicting them because we don’t find them because we didn’t tell people what they looked like?

  18. Bikebubba, we are approaching Harrison Bergeron levels of social distortion.
If no race is given in the BOLO, then the police MUST spend as much time and effort looking for white suspects when they know the perpetrator is black.
