WaPo: “Poor, Poor, Pitiful We”

The problem with “mass shootings” is there are just too many of the to cover ZOMG!

“Agonizing decisions”.

We’ll come back to that.

Until then, let’s define our terms.

A “Mass Shooting” is any shooting with 3+ victims, whatever the motive. It might be a school rampage, true – but it also covers botched robberies, sicarios executing suspect mules, a drive-by shooting indiscriminately into a crowd sending 3-5 people to the hospital, a murder/suicide – even self-defense.

A “Spree Killing” or “Rampage Killing”‘s only motive is killing for its own sake, and no other motive – not even terrorism. It includes episodes like Uvalde, Sandy Hook ,the Buffalo grocery store, and of course one that were ended by good guys with guns before they turned into “mass shootings” (thus ensuring no media interest).

There may well have been 320 “mass shootings” – many or most of them in places like Chicago, Baltimore, Saint Louis and Newark, with a few very notable spree killings distributed among the list.

And for some reason, the “agonized decisions” seem to involve ignoring “mass shootings” where the victims don’t look like the relatives of network executives.

  1. Speaking of stories the leftist media won’t be covering.

Remember the 10 year old “Ohio girl” that had to go to Indiana to rid her body of her rapists child? Some right wing alt media has been asking “what about the guy who raped her; is there a police report?”…*crickets*

    Weeeeell, now we know why:
Who is Gerson Fuentes? Undocumented Immigrant Charged With Ohio Child Rape

Ya just knew it, right? Me too.

Anyone want to bet “Ohio girl” is actually “Chihuahua girl”?

    Thanks Pedo Joe!

  2. Funny how just about all MAGA people insert “Pedo” into their comments — go with what you know, I guess. It’s the 2022’s version of soci@list or communist.

The interesting part is Republican’s knee-jerk reaction was to question the legitimacy of the story.
    https://ohiocapitaljournal.com/2022/07/13/ohio-republicans-attempted-erasure-of-a-10-year-old-rape-victim-is-incredibly-sick-and-disturbed/

The Wall Street Journal has a journalistic obligation to print a retraction to their editorial as well.

  3. Actually, the interesting part is the Democrat’s knee-jerk reaction to believe the story.
But then we are talking about people who believe that in strange election conspiracies. The ability of Democrats to tell fantasy from reality is highly questionable.

  4. Emery, my thought is that it’s funny how the left doesn’t think it’s significant how Biden will hover over young girls and sniff their hair. Even in the good old days, that was a warning sign to a lot of people.

But back to the subject, it’s completely valid to question whether the facts are in when a politically radioactive and “convenient” story is released without the corroborating details that would establish it as real. No apology or retraction is necessary.

  5. You’re right, Emery.
From now on, I’m going to call him what his crack head, illegal gun owning, prostitute banging son calls him; Pedo Pete!

  6. I’m sure Em will automatically accept any single-source, unverifiable, story from the right going forward now. Even much-vaunted-by-the-left Snopes couldn’t verify the 10yo abortion story.

  7. Well, Emery, close to home, you can probably call Steve Simon. You could also call Stacey Abrams.

  8. And don’t get me started on “school shootings”. According to the dhimmicraps there have been eleventy billion of those, just this week!

Air rifle pellet hits a school bus window? SCHOOL SHOOTING!

Gang bangers throwin’ down wit dem 9’s in the parking lot of a school, at 11:00 pm? SCHOOL SHOOTING!

Closed down school (yes d’s, that means children are NEVER there) is the site of a shooting crime? SCHOOL SHOOTING.

  9. Corollary to my last post as regards “children” shot or killed by guns: children includes those up to 19 years of age.

The age should be 17 at most.

Also, control for all the black and brown gang bangers, and the numbers look vastly different.

  10. Say rAT? Did you notice that the blog you linked to doesn’t mention that the rapist is one of Pedo Joe’s border jumping GuataMexidorians, or that his victim is most likely the victim of a child smuggling ring? I did.

This story is headed for the same black hole the Las Vegas massacre is rotting in.

lol…you poor slobs. Handed a cudgel you cannot afford to swing. But wait! Maybe Putin is involved somehow! Yeah, that’s the ticket! Putin did it.

    LMAO

  11. Kinlaw, if we were once again a 90% White majority, 90% of these “gun violence” incidents would disappear overnight.

  12. The interesting part is Republican’s knee-jerk reaction was to question the legitimacy of the story.

That would be the story the Indianapolis Star reported without any facts to back it up, other than the self-serving word of an abortion doctor/activist in Indiana. When Megan Fox did the investigative reporting the Star couldn’t be bothered to do, she found little evidence to corroborate the story.

Police report filed 22 June, arrest made three weeks later, AFTER national scrutiny. And nothing in Ohio’s law necessitated the 10-year-old crossing state lines. But there is evidence to support charging Dr. Bernard with HIPAA violations.

And it wasn’t just Republicans questioning the veracity of the story, Emery. That vaunted bastion of conservatism, the Washington Post, not to mention those unhinged right-wingers at Snopes, were on the same page as Megan Fox.

  13. Off topic, but I don’t think Mitch covered “Taco-gate”, or “Bogaydah-gate”.

“Doctor” Jill strikes again, same old racist dhimmicraps.

  14. He also failed to cover much more important things like, say, the actual details of the Jan 6 hearings, ya’ know, those that show Trump engineered an assault on the Capitol – in an unlawful (coup) attempt to prevent certification of Biden’s lawful and clear victory.

Oh AND Mitch has yet to cover the fact that there was no meaningful fraud in the election, you know, that thing that Trump and his idiot GOP bootlickers (like most of you) refuse to acknowledge despite your total lack of serious evidence. Here’s how 72 prominent conservatives said it in a recently released report studying the 60 cases (out of 61) Trump LOST in court.

“There is absolutely no evidence of fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election on the magnitude necessary to shift the result in any state, let alone the nation as a whole. In fact, there was no fraud that changed the outcome in even a single precinct,”

But hey, let’s spend 10,000 more words on your fears of St.Paul’s or MN’s desire to limit the access to firearms by those too immature or unstable to own them. That’s TRULY important stuff.

You guys are pathetic yet you cons have to resort to name-calling like “dimmicraps” to make yourselves feel good.

Still think your side isn’t preaching hate and conspiracy theory BullS43t Mitch?

How about you finally do the right thing and admit the election was free and fair and Trump’s lies are damaging our democracy or that the Jan 6 insurrection was an awful, lawless act by the “poor poor pitiful me crowd” that thinks the Dems and the ‘gov’mint” are out to get you… jeezus… show some class, finally.

  15. I refuse to spend one second reading the complaints of a person who has NEVER ONCE apologized for the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein, or the Rape of Nanking, or Herod’s Slaughter of the Innocents.

    Hater.

  16. Aw, what’s a matter patsyboy, mommy not give you your pudding cup today?

PS Jan 6 is such a preposterous pack of lies, we here in the real world are enjoying the heck out of it for it’s comedic entertainment value.

Grabbed the wheel, choked a Secret Service agent? Nah brah, SS denies all of those lies.

    One liar after another.

  17. In 2017, Stephen Paddock, a 64 year old white male, executed a detailed plan to kill as many people as possible during a concert at the Mandalay Hotel in Las Vegas . Paddock killed 60 people and injured nearly 500. He killed himself before police breached the many defenses he had set up in his rented room. Paddock shot himself when he ran out of easy victims.
Paddock was a retired accountant. No history of mental illness. He was not a loner, he had a girlfriend, who reported that maybe he drank too much and gambled too much — but Paddock could afford to drink and gamble. He was not a poor man.
There is no test you could have applied to paddock that would have denied him the right to own a gun.

  18. Paddyboy, last I checked, we really don’t have proof that the protests or the Capitol invasion was coordinated by President Trump, and as last I knew, the “investigative” committee was ignoring actual witnesses in favor of hearsay evidence.

Really, if they wanted to rehabilitate Trump’s reputation, I don’t know what they would do differently. Anybody who understands court procedures is seeing exactly the same thing as the Democrats pulled on Brett Kavanaugh, just a bit worse, and they’re the kind of voters who are going to remember.

  19. Ah, Paddywhacker, your delusions and TDS are taking over again.

Funny that the former Sergeant at Arms, Michael Stenger, was forced to resign by Mitch McConnell, (who is complicit in pushing these lies), is on video in February testifying that the “insurgents” were paid agitators. The day he’s scheduled to testify in front of the clown committee, he’s found dead.

Yesterday, one of your own heroes, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, brought to light the quiet part that the clown committee is ignoring; the fact that a large number of people, namely capitol police officers and FBI operatives like Ray Epps, egged on and allowed them access to the capitol. She and apparently other squad members, want a REAL investigation into that whole issue.

Now, go back down into your mommy’s basement, before she catches you playing on the computer.

  20. Back when virtue was a valued human trait, on the morning after the wedding night, parents of a newly wed girl would hang bloody sheets out the window to prove to everyone their daughter was pure, and that they had done their jobs as parents.

The J6 committee put Liz Cheney’s head in a pillow case, and beat it against the wall for the same purpose, but it’s not having the desired effect. The low IQ slobs actually interested in the spectacle think any display of bloody cloth is a protest in favor of tearing unborn children apart limb, from limb.

  21. … the 60 cases (out of 61) Trump LOST in court.

As a lawyer on this site once so eloquently requested: If he LOST those cases, please present to us the case numbers showing the verdict of the judge against the plaintiff in each of those 60 cases.

  22. No court cases were lost. No court would hear the case, which is not the same, and they gave bs reasons for not hearing the cases.

  23. > “As a lawyer on this site once so eloquently requested: If he LOST those cases, please present to us the case numbers showing the verdict of the judge against the plaintiff in each of those 60 cases.”

    > *Sound of tiny fists beating the wall in fury* “Nooooooooo! You can’t just demand documented proof!!”

    > Court transcriber says *whiiiiiir…whiiiiiir*
