Post-Vibrant

The other day, I joked – sort of – that after the violence in downtown Minneapolis on July 4, the city councilman, Michael Rainville, might look for the sort of help that former city council president Lisa bender once referred to as “privilege”.

Yesterdays joke is today’s policy:

Minneapolis City Council member Michael Rainville says Governor Walz is sending in state troopers, as confirmed by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, to help Minneapolis with policing in the interim. The police department has about 600 officers, down from 800.

The ne’er-do-wells finally found a neighborhood where the sense of entitlement overcame white progressive guilt.

  1. So if the state troopers arrest someone will Ramsey and Hennepin county attorneys let them go?

  2. Last town I knew of that had to ask for state troopers to help with everyday policing due to a lack of ability by the city police was Gary, Indiana. So congratulations, DFL; you have created not a cold Omaha, but a cold Gary.

Except, having grown up near Gary, I don’t remember stories of the ladies of Gary dancing in public in justa thong and shooting a shotgun on holidays. They had at least that much self-respect.

  3. Minnesota has a State Patrol, not a state police. They’re supposed to be enforcing traffic laws on trunk highways, not relieving Minneapolis of its basic law enforcement obligation. Walz should not have promised to send them. Doing so deprives citizens driving the trunk highways of the State Troopers’ protection.

If Minneapolis is unable to maintain public order, then the correct agency to assist is the National Guard. Walz should put the city under martial law and send in the Guard, even if it makes Minneapolis look bad.

  4. That interview is an awesome display of Minneapolis woke council thinking:

There are a whole lot of people in Minneapolis who are utterly lawless and just don’t care about society.

The lawlessness occurs regularly and the mob knows they haven’t been held accountable.

The troublemakers are children from 12 into their 20s who haven’t had parental guidance.

Minneapolis has a “canopy system” which uses behavioral health specialists to answer 911 calls instead of actual police.

Actual police are stretched too thin to cover the city, basically playing whack-a-mole going from scene to scene.

Minneapolis is the economic engine of the Upper Midwest so every other jurisdiction should help Minneapolis police itself.

The Governor won’t send National Guard troops, he’s sending 20 State Troopers instead.

The troublemakers are going to have to learn the hard way about breaking the law about terrorizing people in homes, shooting people carrying guns, that is not acceptable behavior. And we’re not going to let that happen in the city of Minneapolis.

    [unspoken but implied]:

[Unless they’re Antifa, or a historically disadvantaged minority, or connected to someone important, not them, but if we happen to catch any middle-class White kids, we’re going to sock it to em. Unless the County Attorney declines to prosecute, or the judge dismisses the charges, or the jailer gives them early release to relieve overcrowding, not them. But everybody else, boy are we going to crack down and I don’t mean maybe.]

  6. ^ On the other hand, a decent rant from JD makes my day. And he’s been on a roll of late.

  7. 20 less tax collectors on the roads? You guys are lucky! What are State Troopers gonna do, issue citations for murder and mayhem? And, with less tax collectors ingesting donuts on the interstate, youts will be doing the nasty in the Cities and then fleeing at high speeds out of town and into suburbs to conduct more nastiness. You guys are soooooo fucked…

  9. The cop that comforted George Floyd while he died of a Fentanyl overdose just got a 20 year federal sentence, on top of his 20 year state sentence.

The three cops that held back the mob of violent black thugs that gathered while George died are awaiting their own lynchings.

Cops have to have a mental health evaluation as part of their licensure.

IMO, a willingness to take a cop job anywhere in the Twin Cities is prima facia evidence of mental instability of one sort or another.

The only other reason anyone would take that job is an inability to get one anywhere else, or to infiltrate the cops to aid criminal operations.

Those state trooper conscripts have absolutely no motivation to do anything more than drive around and enjoy the vibrancy from the safety of their squad cars.

They most likely don’t live in Minneapolis, so why would they take the risk of spending 20 years in prison to lay hands on a black doing a little car jacking or target practice?

  10. What if…..one of the apartment residents witnessing the drive by pyrotechnics display had fired a few shots into the car and killed one or two people? Would Keith Ellison have sicced the AG’s office on him?

  11. doc, right on cue…

Video shows gangster’s girlfriend pulled knife from BAG and stabbed NYC bodega worker, 61, as he defended himself in dispute over $3: Fury as store worker is charged with MURDER for stabbing assailant while woman walks away scot free

  12. jpa;
Yup! Alvin Bragg, like many DA’s, is just another bought and paid for Soros puppet.
