Put another uh, what is it called, dime, that’s it, in the jukebox

Joe Biden is currently 79, and will be 80 in November. His slide into senescence continues untrammeled.

The latest ghost images coughed up by random firings of the remaining synapses in Biden’s cranium led him to claim he had been appointed to the Naval Academy. From the New York Post.

President Biden told graduating midshipmen at the Naval Academy Friday that he applied to the school in 1965 — but a quick check of his biography shows problems with the story.

Biden said he applied to Annapolis with a letter from then-Delaware Sen. J. Caleb Boggs, but the year he cited — 1965 — is the same year he graduated from the University of Delaware. The academy doesn’t offer graduate degrees.

Biden has a habit of seeking to relate to his audiences by sharing questionable anecdotes about his personal experiences — as well as making false or exaggerated claims.

In September, Biden told Jewish leaders that he remembered “spending time at” and “going to” the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh after the mass murder of 11 people in 2018. The synagogue said he never visited and the White House later said he was thinking about a 2019 phone call to the synagogue’s rabbi.

About two weeks later, Biden told an Idaho audience that his “first job offer” came from local lumber and wood products business Boise Cascade. The company said it was news to them and Biden had not previously described an interest in moving to the state.

In January, Biden told students of historically black colleges in Atlanta that he was arrested during civil rights protests — for which there also is no evidence.

In perhaps the most infamous example, Biden in 2020 claimed he “had the great honor of being arrested” in South Africa when he was “trying to get to see [Nelson Mandela] on Robbens [sic] Island,” where Mandela was in prison until 1990. He said Mandela thanked him for it. Later, Biden admitted that it was untrue.

Biden’s Mouth of Sauron claims not to have heard that part of the speech, and so couldn’t comment.

Ronald Reagan was just short of 78 when he left office after his second term.

In 1987 Don Henley wrote “The End of the Innocence” with Bruce Hornsby, and he included the line “they’re beating plowshares into swords, for this tired old man that we elected king,” a reference to Reagan.

I’m still waiting for Henley’s song about Biden.

  1. Mouth of Sauron. Very good.

As to “The End of the Innocence”… it’s pretty obvious that it did *not* mark an end to innocence. After all, Obama (“We are the ones we have been waiting for”) was elected as was Biden (“He is running to restore the soul of the nation”). Perhaps things will get bad enough that even the UWFLs that dominate the Biden Oligarchy’s support will be affected.

UWFL – upper-class white female leftists

  2. Very rare for honesty to emerge from a lefty’s hole.

There are still people all over the interwebs who swear Biden is strong and healthy.

I wonder who will be the first to fess up, but it won;t be before the midterms.

  3. Pedo Joe’s first bid for President, ended with plagiarism. The joke back then was, “There’s a new book out. It’s called “War and Peace”, by Joe Biden. At the time, he was an embarrassment to true DemoCommies, including my mom and dad. The left needs to face the fact that Joe is a blatant liar. In fact, I believe that he surpassed Trump’s “10,000 lies”, long ago.

  4. Biden has a habit of seeking to relate to his audiences by sharing questionable anecdotes about his personal experiences — as well as making false or exaggerated claims.

The Post is being charitable. Joe Biden is a long-time fabulist and plagiarist. Whether spinning a yarn about him being in the Oval Office during Bush 43’s term and chastising the president on foreign policy (In Biden’s mind is the only time he’s been correct on foreign policy, from what I’ve observed) to telling supporters that his first wife and infant daughter were killed by a truck driver who “drank his lunch”, Biden wouldn’t know the facts if they came up and shook his hand.

  5. Another Biden walk-back:
Kyiv had repeatedly called for Washington to provide it with HIMARS and the heavier tracked M270 rocket system. On May 30, U.S. President Joe Biden appeared to rule that out, telling a reporter: “We are not going to send to Ukraine rocket systems that can strike into Russia.”
That statement was later walked back by a Whitehouse official and on May 31 Biden confirmed that the U.S. would in fact be sending “more advanced rocket systems and munitions that will enable [Ukrainians] to more precisely strike key targets on the battlefield in Ukraine.”

    Also:
US military hackers have conducted offensive operations in support of Ukraine, the head of US Cyber Command has told Sky News.
If any person could inadvertently start WW3, the name of that man would be Joseph Robinette Biden.

  6. I’ll cut him some slack on this one. He was trying to make a self-deprecating joke and got a few details wrong. He’s old. It happens.

Saying, “I would have come here to play football but you already had Roger Staubach” is making an endearing reference to a famous alum. It’s under ‘relating the audience’ in all the ‘how to make a speech’ books.

It’d be like me saying, “I was going to attend Notre Dame law school but they already had enough smart guys so I went to Billy Mitchell where they really needed me.”

  7. The really shameless thing in Biden’s Naval Academy comments was that Biden already had his bachelor’s degree, and USNA did, and continues, to issue bachelor’s degrees. Biden also was a poor fit because of his mediocre academic record, asthma, and majoring in the liberal arts–Navy really concentrates on the sciences for obvious reasons, and I don’t believe they even offered any degrees in the liberal arts at the time.

In other words, Biden’s lies are not even plausible anymore. A final jab is that I’m so sure Navy would have handed him a football in 1966 (freshmen did not play intercollegiate football at the varsity level at that time) at age 24 despite not having taken a snap since he was 20.

  8. Yea, I’m losing count of all of the indoctrination factories that Pedo Joe’s has said that he either attended or received a degree from. A couple of years ago, he claimed that he attended the university of Delaware. The University said, “Um…No, you didn’t.”

  9. Say what you will about Biden — but he gets things done (slowly) and tends not to piss off other countries as we (USA) often do. It’s good to have a leader of biggest military power in the world sleepy and slow, the world is happy with Slow and predictable Biden. For big and strong countries like the US its better to have such leaders like Biden than Trump. Trump would be good for a small country as a dictator.

  10. and tends not to piss off other countries as we (USA) often do.

So what? If looking out for our own interests pisses them off, so be it.

the world is happy with Slow and predictable Biden.

The Taliban, North Korea, and Putin’s Russia would seem to agree.

Trump would be good for a small country as a dictator.

That country would be called “Emery-stan”, where he lives rent-free in your head.
