  1. Another volte face:
“European Union regulators warned that frequent Covid-19 booster shots could adversely affect the immune response and may not be feasible.”
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-01-11/repeat-booster-shots-risk-overloading-immune-system-ema-says

And just like that, prioritizing boosters for minorities became white supremacy.
These people are clowning themselves on a daily basis. Think of how much better off we all would be if there were no such thing as public health officials.

  2. The official medical establishment has been calling some of us kooks for two years. Now they’re validating what we’ve been saying all along, without admitting we were right and they were wrong.

I declined to get a flu shot last Fall. I trust my nurse to load the syringe from the correct bottle, but I don’t know what the factory put into the bottle. Wouldn’t put it past them to slip me a Fauci Mickey.

And now this: “Moderna is focusing on how to make people want the vaccine. To overcome “compliance issues,” they will combine covid, flu, and RSV vaccines into a single shot for fall 2023.”

    https://twitter.com/_Iaura_/status/1483562637006761987

2021 to 2023 – yep, two years until they validate me again. Without admitting it.

  3. The media in America (and increasingly in EU/UK) need to step up and take a large portion of this blame too.

It’s easy to point the finger at Tucker Carlson and his ilk on Fox News and OAN for deliberate distortion of the truth so that it fits the target ideology, however this would be too simplistic.

All media relies on repeat business. All media therefore has a vested interest in sensationalizing the news, in entrenching biases to retain customers.

Even those who purport to be independent and genuinely attempt to provide balanced reporting require “content” and so end up giving disproportionately large air time to fringe viewpoints. In a truly ‘balanced’ world then Anti-Vaxxers, Climate Change Deniers, Intelligent Designers, Birthers and QAnon would not get a look in, however we live in a panel based, choose your own facts world.

“Thank you Professor XYZ for your many years of study and learned opinion on the subject. Now we turn to Mr Nutjob for an opposing point of view that he made up in the bath yesterday evening. After that you can make your own mind up.”

  4. Except in this case, Mr. Nutjob turns out to have been right all along. The media acting as gatekeeper under “Appeal To Authority” wasn’t the smartest choice. In fact, it was misinformation which led consumers away from truth into needless panic. Covid is acting like any other bad flu, just as we told you from the start.

This situation isn’t a once-off, it occurs all the time. The media makes an early decision on an official version of the story and ignores all other versions. What’s different now is the tech giants are actively punishing people who don’t buy into the official version, even when it later turns out to have been wrong all along.

I wonder if we could change that by giving the public the right to sue the media who suppress opposing viewpoints which later turn out to have been correct?

  5. When this whole thing started, back in february-march 2020, the initial take was that this would be like the hong kong flu of 1968. Really bad flu, protect the elderly who seemed to be at greater risk.
Then “public health officials” projected a case rate, eventually, of everyone on earth (7 billion) and a case fatality rate of 2%. That comes out to 140,000,000 dead over a year or two.
This faulty modeling lead to panic on the part of about half the population and nearly all of the politicians, “public health officials,” and epidemiologists. They shut down the world economy and began to issue dictatorial orders that affected everything from freedom of worship to the right to gather. Not for the sick or the at risk, but for EVERYONE.
This was not done to buy time until a vaccine was developed, it was done to “flatten the curve” of the demand placed on the health care system by the pandemic. The experts assured us that a vaccine was a decade or more away. They were still predicting 140,000 dead over two years.
Yep, the geniuses got together and decided to do something that had never been before — quarantine the healthy. While they did this, they sent sick old people back into old folks’ homes.
The result was what any fool could see — a hard economic recession, damage to children’s education, massive transfer of wealth from the poor to the wealthy, a collapse of the hospitality and tourism industries, and inflation that we have not seen in 40 years.
None of the politicians, “public health experts,” and epidemiologists predicted this.
But they did predict 140,000,000 dead.
The real number of covid deaths is 5.5 million, average age of death greater than average life expectancy.
They should all be tarred and feathered.

  6. What makes an “expert” is not a string of degrees, or prestigious appointments, or reflecting the consensus view.
What makes an expert is understanding a topic well enough that you can predict how that topic will determine future events.
It isn’t story telling. What we have is people who are good story tellers.

  7. One quibble with an otherwise excellent point, MP.

5.5 million dead is the official number. Remember that in April 2020, there were not enough reliable kits to test for Covid so the US government instructed states to report all deaths from respiratory illness – emphysema, influenza, pneumonia – as Covid. That guidance has never been repealed. The actual number of US Covid deaths may be a fraction of the reported deaths making Nr. Nutjob’s early comments even more prescient.

And nobody knows how other nations count Covid deaths, if they count them at all. Did the world panic because we panicked, figuring we must know something they don’t know? Did Democrats and RINOs inadvertently cause a global crisis so they could get rid of Bad Orange Man?

  8. Except in this case, Mr. Nutjob turns out to have been right all along

It was a non-apology apology… heck, an anti-apology apology. All the Emeries and the p-boys and the rest of the Democrat-inclined who can’t remember what they claimed, emphatically for the last two years, much less last week, think that we don’t remember. We do.

  9. And nobody knows how other nations count Covid deaths

Red China is reporting 105411 cases (all total) and 4636 deaths (all total). I think this is all the proof we need that total lockdowns to the point of welding/nailing shut the doors of people’s residences and/or shipping them off to camps is the best way to handle this very, very deadly virus.

    Or could they be undercounting?

  10. And now this: “Moderna is focusing on how to make people want the vaccine. To overcome “compliance issues,”

Am I the only one who thinks Tobacco companies morphed into Big Pharma? With goobernment blessing yet – until it becomes politically convenient and expedient to bash them?

And, Or could they be undercounting?

Stop testing and Wuhan Flu goes away. The science of counting had been tortured to a point there is no more room for backpedalling – they are against the wall.

  11. Given that one of the big reasons that we’re not able to get new cars and replacement parts is that supply from China is constrained–and the ICs we’re talking about can fit about a million per cubic meter of shipment and would easily go on a plane–I think it’s safe to say that something more significant is going on than just “ships stuck off Long Beach”. All high tech is getting hammered by this very kind of thing–parts that can easily be shipped by plane are not available, which suggests that the Chinese/other Asians have a much bigger issue than they’re letting on.

  12. and the ICs we’re talking about can fit about a million per cubic meter of shipment and would easily go on a plane

bike, alas we do not buy wafers, we buy IC assemblies, so that portion of your argument is on a slow boat. And yes, we are living through a perfect storm in a multivariate universe where everything had gone wrong at the same time. But the worst part – there is no one working to fix it, profit center shifted to people who control Barter Town and they are not interested in any solutions any time soon as long as they pad their wallets.

  13. Stop testing and Wuhan Flu goes away

This makes no sense. We count all other types of deaths. Why leave out the Kung flu? Some people do die because of it.

  14. Quiz time! Who said this? One of the Emerys or Don Lemon?
We have to start doing things for the greater good of society and not for idiots who think that they can do their own research, or that they are above the law and they can break the rules.

  15. The whole fucking scam is coming unraveled. The reason F Joe is sending out “free” Covid tests is to increase the number of cases in a pathetic attempt to keep it going until November.

    Won’t work.

By July, only 80 IQ nitwits like rat Emery and his “ICU nurse daughter” (lmao) will still be shambling around displaying their low IQ’s on their faces.

  16. alas we do not buy wafers, we buy IC assemblies

That’s not true, jpa. There are hundreds of US companies that package IC’s sent from the Pacific rim. It *is* true that they don’t ship intact wafers; diced circuits are shipped because intact wafers are too fragile.

  17. “Stop testing and Wuhan Flu goes away. This makes no sense. We count all other types of deaths. Why leave out the Kung flu? Some people do die because of it.”

Because, JDM, there is testing and there is dying, and they’re not the same.

My employer requires proof of vaccine or a weekly negative test. Some people who feel no symptoms get false positives; some people who feel no symptoms get accurate positives; but none of those people are sick enough to worry about. Testing people does nothing to end Covid, it simply increase case-count numbers to maintain the panic. Stop counting Covid cases and the panic goes away.

Counting dead people is different; there, we should be testing but also distinguishing between died WITH Covid versus died FROM Covid, because that would also reduce the numbers and decrease the panic.

We can’t test our way out of a disease. But we could stop testing our way into panic.

  18. Rat Emery squeaked: It’s easy to point the finger at Tucker Carlson and his ilk on Fox News and OAN for deliberate distortion of the truth so that it fits the target ideology, however this would be too simplistic.

LMAO! You gigantic moron! PBS, CNN and NPR are now all saying what Carlson and OANN have been saying for two years. Are you really THAT fucking stupid?*

    *Rhetorical question

  19. Because, JDM, there is testing and there is dying, and they’re not the same

Immediately after hitting the Post Comment button I saw “testing” which in my tiny little brain transformed to “counting”. D’oh!

  20. Speaking of counting or testing or vaccinating or whatever, New studies show that the COVID vaccines damage your immune system, likely permanently.

Update Jan 7, 2022: The numbers in the Denmark study described below are now confirmed by government data from Germany showing that vaccinated people are 8X more likely to develop Omicron than unvaccinated people. This is not surprising since a paper from Germany showed the same thing: the more you vaccinate, the worse it gets.

Denmark is setting case count records of late while they work towards 100% vaccinated.

  21. The important thing is that people haven’t become skeptical about the Experts because of Fox news and “internet disinformation,” people have become skeptical about the Experts because, time and again, they were wrong.

The reason Cuomo and Walz sent covid patients into the petri dishes called nursing homes is because this is what “public health experts” advised them to do.
    They were wrong.
Remember the hand cleanser madness? That’s because “public health experts” thought the virus could live on surfaces for hours.
    They were wrong.
Remember when “public health experts” told us that getting vaccinated was going to keep you from contracting and spreading covid?
    They were wrong.
And at any time, if you questioned what public health experts proclaimed, if you said “I’ve looked into this, it seems wrong” you were called, by the Left, a stupid, morally wicked person who needs to shut the Hell up.

And I haven’t even gotten into the obvious truth that the “public health officials” and the politicians who listened to them did not believe their own bull shit. The number of ICU beds were not increased to handle the increased load of the pandemic they said was raging, no treatments for people with covid were explored, in fact several were outlawed at the state level.

Their entire response to the pandemic consisted of temporary emergency orders issued by some politicians to enforce business closures, social distancing orders, and mask mandates.

I would bet, gosh, way more than a shiny nickel, that this is not what “public health experts” are taught is the proper government response to a minor pandemic. They started flailing when the first cases appeared outside of China, they continued flailing throughout the spring, summer, fall, and winter of 2020 and 2021, and the flailing continues today.

  22. I’m going to take that with a grain of salt, jdm. From what I can tell, the German study did not differentiate between the unvaccinated who had previously had covid and the unvaccinated who did not have covid.
One of the idiotic things about the Biden’s vaccine mandate was that it did not take that into account, and it is highly likely that people who previously had covid are less likely to get vaxxed. Why bother?
Another example, tho, of the deep unseriousness of the “health care professionals” who tell us that this is a major epidemic with potentially tens or hundreds of millions of fatalities.

  23. jdm shared: Speaking of counting or testing or vaccinating or whatever, New studies show that the COVID vaccines damage your immune system, likely permanently.

That is exactly what Dr, Robert Malone has said from the beginning. I see slander and libel lawsuits in the offing…as well as tort suits against companies that forced employees to shoot that nasty, toxic, worthless shit into their bodies to keep their jobs.

  24. Wouldn’t it be too sweet, if the woke corporations were ended by ambulance chasing lawyers?

    BETTER CALL SAUL!!!

  25. Emery-“climate change deniers..”. Still chanting that ridiculous mantra? No one denies the climate is changing, it always has and will. The question is what’s causing it and what are the alleged effects-none of which have happened that can be detached from natural variability

  26. MBerg wrote: “Science changes”. Yep. It changes into things that used to get you ostracized.

“The science” just tells you what the odds are. How you want to play them is a separate question.

  27. Science is a method of investigating the natural world. It is “observe, hypothesize, experiment, revise, repeat” until you have established a cause and effect relationship.
When some people talk about “the science” what they mean is “the data.”
But the data has to be selected and assembled into a narrative. It is then story telling, not science.

  28. I was thinking the same thing, jdm.

E’s – Mitch said “science changes” as sarcasm. The science hasn’t changed since day one. We knew from the beginning it was a respiratory virus, that masks won’t prevent the spread, that it afflicted the frail elderly, that we should quarantine the sick and liberate the healthy. Everything in The Great Barrington Declaration was known from the start. None of the science of epidemiology has changed.

What’s changed is the politics, proving the skeptics were right all along. The existence of the virus is not a hoax; Liberals’ panic response was the hoax. Next issue – why the panic response? What were they trying to accomplish by terrifying the public? And why end it now?

  29. New CDC study hides the lead . . . again.
It says that the vax was really good until delta, and not much good against omicron. It implies that this is because delta and omicron are different strains than the vaccines were tested against in the summer and fall of 2020.
Natural immunity does not become weaker against new strains of covid.
Strip away the distraction about different strains of covid, and what it says is that the vaccines become weaker over time (the strains exist within a temporal envelope, alpha followed by beta, etc. through omicron).
I think that what this indicates is that the virus has had an easier time evolving its way around the vaccines than natural immunity.

  30. Blasphemers and heretics have always been ostracized, sanctioned, and even burned by the Church(es) and their religious followers who set the community standards.

Today, religious apostasy is celebrated and doctrines are mocked. Blasphemers and heretics of the new Order, however, receive the same treatment today as their predecessors.

  31. Thank you Professor XYZ for your many years of study and learned opinion on the subject. Now we turn to Mr Nutjob for an opposing point of view that he made up in the bath yesterday evening. After that you can make your own mind up.

This is so confusing, MP. You quote the CDC which is filled with professor-like persons who have learned opinions and yet the content just replicates Mr Nutjob rantings. How are we to know what is right?

It is a bitter irony, NW, that in a time and place of widespread atheism – nay, anti-theism – the very behavior of so many is that of acolytes and other religious adherents… which I guess just echoes what you wrote; I just wanted to agree emphatically.

  32. That’s not true, jpa.

rat, the point bike made was about getting IC’s to market. Shortage we are seeing is not in IC’s but in assemblies, which are predominately made in Asia and are subject to the same logistical snafu scenarios as everything else. Plus, there is more freight being carried by planes these days, damn the costs, than ever before. Don’t know the last time you had to arrange for a full cargo plane, but I had to do it about a month ago – it took about a month to get material from Asia to customer, airfreight is NOT overnight and is extremely tight – at any cost.

  33. All of the CPU’s used in personal computers, cars & etc are made and packaged in the US (Austin TX primarily). Intel, Motorola, TI, AMD & etc., do have operations in the Pacific rim. But to protect the processes used, the high tech products are made here because countries like China and Malaysia don’t enforce copyright and trade secret laws.

It’s the consumer goods that use IC’s like resistor arrays & logic gates that are in short supply. You can go to Best Buy and buy a computer with no trouble. Cell phones, not so much. You seem to be saying it’s a logistics problem, and I agree with you. But it’s not a supply problem.

  34. Robert Kessler, communications manager for EcoHealth Alliance, denied that the work on the humanized mice met the definition of gain-of-function research. Kessler insisted that bat viruses are not potential pandemic pathogens because, he said, “a bat virus is not known to be able to infect humans.” The proposal justified the work on WIV1 by explaining that it is “not a select agent” — referring to a list of closely monitored toxins and biological agents that have the potential to pose a severe threat to public health — and “has not been shown to cause human infections, and has not been shown to be transmissible between humans.”
But the group’s bat coronavirus research was focused on the very threat that bat viruses pose to people. Kessler did acknowledge that, while the original bat coronavirus in the experiment did not spread among humans, the research was designed to gauge how bat coronaviruses could evolve to infect humans.”
