“Gosh, Why Do People Distrust Our Public Health Messaging?”

Uh, because they routinely lie to you, and we know it, but they keep on trying to deny it?

Whistle blown on Bloomington public health director, lying to school parents about the effectiveness of masks:

Emphasis added:

At an August 2 “Return to School” webinar on the district’s proposed COVID plan, Kelley urged parents to get their kids vaccinated, calling it the “cornerstone” to containing COVID. Next up in his presentation, Kelly unveiled a list of best practices for schools to follow in preventing the spread of the virus, emphasizing masks were the most important tool of all.

“They’re called best practices because this is the evidence-based data we have for driving how to protect kids in school environments based on experiences we saw in the last two school years,” Kelley said in the August meeting posted on YouTube. “Masking is at the top of that list. The ability to have source control and some aspect of protection for the wearer is a phenomenal tool to control a respiratory pathogen like COVID.”

Yet in a closed door meeting of Bloomington Public Health staff the week school began, Kelley appeared to offer a markedly different view of the usefulness of mandatory masking at schools, according to a watchdog who attended the virtual meeting.

“In terms of purely broad effectiveness, the least effective mitigation we’re implementing in this process is masking,” Kelley said in a recording provided by the watchdog. “Masking, the quality of the consistency of the fit, all those things are highly variable in a population setting.”

It’s becoming a Berg’s Law; anyone who refers to an argument as “evidence-based” should be distrusted and verified – and, almost invariably, distrusted thereafter.

Speaking of public health messaging, I encourage everyone to read “A Plague upon our House” by Dr Scott Atlas, who served the Trump administration as a special advisor in 2020. It won’t surprise but it will shock you with the degree of professional medical incompetence, government stupidity, and media malfeasance,

The reason that governments impose lockdowns and vaxx mandates and passports is because a large part of the populations supports them.
This is driven by an irrational fear of covid. Polling shows that people in the US routinely overestimate, by an order of magnitude or more, their chances of being hospitailied and dying of covid.

The only age group that Americans think is at a lower risk from covid than shown in the real data is people over the age of 65.
This is a result of journalistic malpractice and poor communication by the the CDC and other government “health offocials,” and misinformation spread by the teachers unions.

    From the London Times:
Children are being forced to wear overcoats and blankets in bitterly cold classrooms because of a government edict to keep windows open to limit the transmission of coronavirus.
So, British health authorities are now torturing children.

Got my teeth cleaned. Dental hygienist has been fully vaccinated with all boosters since the beginning. He got covid this Fall. So you had a breakthrough case? Yes, I guess I did. So the vaccine doesn’t work? Well, I wouldn’t say that.

Look, we all went to the gym and got vaccines when I was a kid. How many breakthrough cases of polio do you remember? How many of your classmates died of whooping cough or German Measles? This vaccine is not like the others. It doesn’t work.

How come people can’t understand that?

Health care worker burn-out would be greatly reduced if every hospital opened a faith-healing tent in the parking lot to treat the unvaccinated. Staffed by volunteer Facebook experts who “did their research”.

^^No rational argument to make, so the blather continues^^
I predict much more blather from the troll in the future.

You see this resort to blather or snark time and time again with lefty trolls.
When normal people realize it is impossible to devise a rational argument that favors their position, they retrench and rethink their premises. On the left, people tend to fall back on ad hominem attacks, blather, snark, and ban-hammers.
This is encouraging to those of us on the right.

Emery’s posts remind me what it was like dealing with an AFSCME Shop Steward on a daily basis – nothing ever made any sense because it didn’t have to, maybe that was why every Shop Steward I dealt with was a “recovering” addict.

Most all reports I’ve seen indicate Omicron is “less severe” = mild.

The only people, or most of the people, who “fear” an increase in mild/moderate cases and who also entertain the very notion of another lockdown are people who a) suffer from kind of neurotic unwillingness to move on with life, despite being vaccinated and thus protected from severe illness, and b) have the socioeconomic privilege to endure another lockdown—i.e., have white collar jobs that allow them to work from home via computer while others show up to their jobs in person and face the very risk that the pro-lockdown folks are unwilling to accept.

Looks like the new Kung-flu Narrative variant has been written regarding the newest Kung-flu variant and the emails have been sent out.

Well, actually, Emery may be referring to that bat shit crazy freshman congressman from Missouri, Corey Bush (D), who claims that she was cured of WuFlu by a Nigerian faith healer. Then, she started a fundraiser for said “healer”. Bush is also spending a lot of taxpayer’s money for a private security detail, while telling her brain dead constituents that they don’t deserve police protection.

Emery, re: your 10:31, into which category would you put companies which are requiring vaccination as a condition of employment?

jdm re your 8:33: hey, poor little guy has got to try to put lipstick on this pig of an administration. The trouble is, the mediots can’t cover up the problems we face, like inflation, empty shelves, and the price of all fuels. Wait until people see their winter heating bills. The trolls comments then will make his current drivel sound like William F Buckley.

The mediot machine is going to go ape.
