Spoils

The media yesterday expressed wonder that Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey had created a group of his “political critics“ serves a task force to “work“ on the cities crime problem.

A reader emails describe that group as:

…a veritable who’s who of those with their snout in the trough.

With LA carpetbagger Nekima Levy at the helm nothing but good can come from Mayor Frey’s Community Safety Workgroup

This gets, I think, to the truth that our media won’t, can’t, or aren’t supposed to talk about; this exercise is entirely a matter of greasing all the palms that need to be greased.

  1. What will another Harvard representative bring to the group? I mean besides just another left wing stooge with a flawed opinion.

  2. a group of his “political critics“

I don’t recognize any but a few of those names. Any to the right of Frey?

Also, any representatives from the various groups of hoodlums making the streets of Mpls more, um, diverse?

  3. This is to provide cover for drug gangs taking over Mpls “law enforcement.”

  4. This is what you get with ranked choice voting. The radicals have no need to moderate their positions or widen their base to get elected.
The mechanics of ranked choice voting favor the fringe candidates of both parties, but in a DFL dominated city, the fringe DFL candidates will end up in office.
Ironically, supporters of RCV believe that it forces candidates to moderate their positions to appeal to more voters. This does not happen in reality.

  5. I’m reminded of William F. Buckley’s statement that he’d rather be governed by the first 100 people in the Boston phone book than by 100 professors from Harvard. There is something going on where our “elites” simply don’t clue in to reality, especially these days.

  6. The progs pushed Ranked Choice voting through, and then urged their followers not to “rank” Frye in the last election when he became politically unreliable. IIRC, Frye received 21% of the first choice ballots, but enough ranked votes to retain office. So now you’ve got a mayor who less than a quarter of the voters wanted, a “strong mayor” ordinance, and it’s “legal”. Never fear, the progs quickly mustered up an “advisory council” of people to the left of the mayor – no voting required.

  7. Almost no one from the private sector.

No US Bank, no sports teams, no First Avenue, no Pantages, no Thrivent, no Deluxe, no Target, no Federal Reserve board, no Orchestra Hall, no a lot of people who pay the taxes downtown, employ a lot of people in downtown, and have a huge stake in downtown.

  8. Ima jack this thread, because…

About 15 (hell maybe 20) years ago, there was a young lass named “Robin Marty” who ran a lefty blog from Minneapolis.

She and I had a bit of a falling out (snicker), and while Berg supported my position somewhat, he was also of the opinion she was just young, and would come around. I knew she was a filthy specimen right away, and time has borne me out.

Along with another Minnesota thot that is currently infecting the formerly Great State of Colorado (@hegemommy), she’s turned into a nationally recognized “authority” on the right to rip kids apart from the womb. Worse, she’s the Director of an abattoir in Tuscaloosa Alabama that has hired the most wretched specimen of human flesh ever to set foot on the planet.

I travel to Alabama regularly; Tuscaloosa in particular. Now every time I go there, I will feel soiled. (Please keep your degenerate thots up North, where they belong, ffs?)

    But, I digress…..

Since SCOTUS has all but sealed the fate of national abortion on demand in the US, I thought I’d check in to see what the lass has been up to. I don’t have a TwitR account, so cannot see the responses to her filth…it’s a blessing probably…

    https://twitter.com/robinmarty

I especially enjoyed the one she reposted “When I tell my Christian friends that God sacrificed [H]is only son so [H]e’s definitely OK with abortion”

I’ve admitted that my thoughts on abortion have evolved over time. It cannot be said, considering the majority of women who engage in it, it doesn’t keep millions of future degenerates, criminals and other assorted reprobates from hitting the streets. But when you read the opinions of it’s cheerleaders, it goes right back to being a filthy blot on humanity.

Thot twitter is going batshit crazy, and “REW” et. al. is leading the charge…Do not presume to ever contradict me when I render a verdict upon a leftist reprobate, ever again, Mr. Berg. That is all.

  10. A lot of Soros-bots are getting elected with RCV. This is not a coincidence, I think the mechanics are that Soros-bots are well funded enough to get name recognition among local voters. Asked to list their choices, the Soros-bots end up being the second or third choice of a lot of people. Because RCV bypasses the primary process (RCV is better known as “instant run off” voting), the Soros-bot never faces a debate or serious investigation by the media.
    There, League of Woman Voters.
I’ve done your damn job for you.

  12. Michigan School-Shooting Suspect’s Parents Plead Not Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter
    https://www.wsj.com/articles/michigan-school-shooting-suspects-parents-charged-with-involuntary-manslaughter-11638552325

I’m shocked, that parents who think their kid’s school has too many foreigners are also sociopathically indifferent to the threat their kid poses.

Still you can see why they think he needs a school gun, what if he runs into a Ruby Ridge book or something.

The good news was that nobody was teaching Critical Race Theory…

  13. There’s phone video from inside the school, I noticed that teachers are between students and the door.

They do that, but they can’t be trusted to teach history…..

  14. Extreme blather from Emery today. So far off topic I can’t tell what point he is trying to make. I expect Emery gets so elliptical because he nose whatever point he is trying to make is incoherent — such as believing that an ideologue must lack personal courage.

  15. According to woke ideology, the police exist to enforce enforce white supremacy. The purpose of the police is to oppress blacks and other non-whites, as well as to suppress political movements that oppose white supremacy.
So if you reduce or eliminate the police, blacks and other minorities will not be as oppressed. The inevitable result will be an increase in threats to white supremacy that are called “crime” by the white supremacists. So an increase in “crime” when policing is decreased simply proves that white supremacy is real. If society was not organized as support system for white supremacy, there would be no increase in “criminal activity” when policing is reduced.

  16. I’m curious to see if the party line @SiTD will be to condemn the Crumbleys or declare them heroes/martyrs.

  17. Look for legislation that would absolve parents of any criminal/civil liability if their child commits mass murder at school. Coming to a red state near you.

  18. Althouse notes that the Michigan school shooting, the riots that resulted in Rittenhouse killing three people, and the five murders by the SUV driving BLM supporter, were all the result of government failing in its first responsibility to provide law and order:
    https://althouse.blogspot.com/2021/12/in-michigan-shooting-what-is-schools.html

Evers and Dem politicians refused to take the actions necessary to quell the unrest in Racine, leading to Rittenhouse taking his AR15 to the streets where he was beaten by rioters.
In Waukesha, a violent, dangerous felon was released on small bail, leading to the felon’s crime spree that ended in the deaths of five innocents, including a child.
And school officials refused to take the actions necessary to remove the shooter from school when they knew that he was dangerous and had made a clear plea for help.
Corruption is, indeed, the hall mark of progressive governance.

  19. I’m curious to see if the party line on this blog will be to condemn the Crumbleys or declare them heroes/martyrs.

  20. I’ve never been stuck in a moderation queue at SITD.
Use more words with Latin roots, and fewer with Anglo-Saxon roots, is my advice.
Or maybe blather less? Just a thought.

  21. Just as I predicted, the MSM has decided that anti-vaxxer, anti-lockdown Eric Clapton is not only a racist, but has always been a racist.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2021/11/11/eric-clapton-vaccine-lockdown/
Clapton’s manager said that WaPo wanted to interview Clapton for its “story,”:
“Given the depressingly bad standard of journalism reflected in certain recent articles, Eric Clapton has no desire at the moment to engage with the US Press,”

  22. Woolly wrote: “I expect Emery gets so elliptical because he nose”.…something, something…blah blah…

Before lobbing that sick burn you should probably learn how to spell ‘knows’…..

  23. When the economy is in the tank, stock market headed for the toilet, millions of low IQ, illiterate wards of the state crossing the border, blacks running wild, murders hitting levels never thought possible, inflation destroying everyone’s savings, a belligerent, nuclear armed enemy flexing, rebellion being spoken openly…the guy you *definitely* want steering the country shits his pants regularly, and is unsure where he is at any given time.

  24. Bears sound clever; bulls make money and pigs get slaughtered.

Twat, you could have taken profits when the markets were at record highs — right?
