TV

Joe Doakes from Como park emails:

I don’t watch much TV, but a Sci-Fi series was recommended. It has commercials. They’re the same every break: out of four ads there will be one for childhood covid vaccine and one for Medicine for black homosexuals with HIV. Commercial ads are annoying enough, but relentless liberalism is infuriating.

The first cold, stormy Saturday we have, I’m going to do an ethnographic study of ads on TV, not so much to prove a political point as to illustrate the sociological absurdity that there is such a thing as “structural racism“ in our society.

  1. I watch TV. My feeling about current woke commercials is that if a Martian spent a week monitoring Earth TV, he would report that the US population is 50% black, every fourth family is headed by a same sex mixed race couple. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  2. JD, I seem to always have erectile disfunction commercials when I’m watching. No wonder the terrorists hate us. A friend who happens to be a certain indigenous type (his self-proclaimed moniker borrowed from Tony Soprano), pointed something out to me about a year ago. He observed commercials with representation of his skin pigment were greater than those without. I believe he is correct.

  3. For the moment, ROKU seems to feature wholesome entertainment and globohomo, tranny and mulatto free advertising.

And of course, there’s the Hallmark channel when you need a booster Whitepill.

  4. The funny thing about that “relentless liberalism” is that the persons involved in those commercials, regardless of color/race, all act “white”. That is, just like upper middle class white women would act. All the behaviors that make life pleasant, clean, orderly, and nice.

  5. I doubt anyone from the networks reads here, but I stopped watching football games about 15 years back due to two factors; first the government format change, and second things like Cialis commercials on TV. I caught a glimpse (may God forgive me for peeking) at another commercial regarding a drug to help the HIV infected limit their transmissibility. “Click”

I enjoy a good movie, and I enjoy a good game, but if they’re going to pour filth into my family room, they’re not going to be my source.

  6. One of you regs here pointed out the racial make up of commercials a few months ago, and once you start paying attention, damn, way over 50% are POC.
