Somewhat off topic (but always in the news): how’s that vaccine mandate working out, troll?

At this point it is easy to point to the harm Biden’s vaccine mandate has done, but difficult if not impossible to point to the benefits.
In fact it seems that this was always going to be true. Vaccinated people who don’t get covid or end up with a less fatal case of covid don’t make the news, but worker shortages and protests do make the news.
So why did Biden do it? Especially after he claimed that there would not be a mandate, and he introduced his mandate just as evidence was mounting that the vaccine was not nearly as effective as it had been claimed to be.
There is a serious shortage of intellectual capital in the Biden White House.
