Scabrous

There are so many reasons to flush the Biden administration like a bad tequila and gas station burrito bender the next morning.

This story is merely one of them. But it’s a big one:

Veterans that chose not to get a COVID-19 vaccine and are dismissed from their posts will not receive any special protections or preferential evaluations for veterans’ benefits eligibility, with the decision being ultimately determined by their discharge status.

The decision of whether to give these veterans other-than-honorable discharges will be left to their local commanders.

I don’t care what Betty McCollum and Ilhan Omar have to say about this – it’s perfectly predictable.

Now Dean Phillips and Angie Craig? That’s an opinion I’d like to get.

  1. Recently the US passed a milestone of sorts. The number of Americans allegedly dead from Covid during the Brandon administration became larger than the number accrued during the Trump administration. Several explanations suggest themselves. Despite the high percentage of vaccinated people, the vulnerable fall ill and die anyway. Or many Covid “deaths “ have another cause. Or the vaccines encourage risky behavior. Or all of the above. In any case, the promised vaccine Utopia is still over the horizon. So the reason for mandates and sanctions against the refusers is what?

  2. IMO, trust fund boy Phillips has been pissing on his dad’s grave from his first day in office. Angie Craig is a straight up communist.

  3. So the 5th district puts a stay on Biden’s vax mandate to businesses.
The presidents spox says employers should ignore the court’s ruling.
    WTF?! Really?
    And the media says nothing.

  4. They canceled veterans but I said nothing because I am not a veteran.
They canceled pilots but I said nothing because I am not a pilot.
They canceled police and firefighters but I said nothing because . . .

I’m holding out until they cancel Social Security and Medicare benefits for those who refuse the vaccination. THEN, by God, I’ll say something.

  5. The less effective the vacines have proven to be, the more Biden pushes his mandate. Nothing suspicious about that!

  6. kinlaw;
    Good post.

What also is not being reported by the enemies of the people media, is that Norway, Sweden and Denmark, have been back to normal life for over two months now. WuFlu “cases”, hospitalizations and deaths have dropped to levels normally seen from the flu.

Further, more proof from Israel, probably the most jabbed country in the world, prove that the jabs don’t work, that more people that have been jabbed are hospitalized and dying than non jabbed, that the jabbed still carry and spread the virus and that natural immunity is far superior.

  7. Kinlaw, you are doing it wrong. You need to present the data New York Times style.
You need compare blue state California’s covid cases per hundred thousand rate (16) with its obvious red state corralary, North Dakota (67).

  8. Here is a very inclusive poll giving partisan breakdowns on a LOT of topics, including covid perceptions.
    https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/w2zmwpzsq0/econTabReport.pdf

Poll question 8 is “Taking into consideration both your risk of contracting it and the seriousness of the illness, how worried are you personally about experiencing COVID-19?”

The partisan divide is striking. Four times as many Trump voters say that they are not worried at all about covid than Biden voters (41% vs. 10%).
If you do not feel personally threatened by covid, you are far more likely to oppose things like vax mandates, masking & other social distancing measures.
If only we had good information about the errors in the way people estimate the danger of covid!
    We Do!
    https://www.brookings.edu/research/how-misinformation-is-distorting-covid-policies-and-behaviors/

This is polling data from the Brookings Institute. Turns out that BOTH democrats and republicans greatly overestimate their chances of hospitialization and death if they get covid. Both Ds and Rs have distorted ideas about who is at risk of death from covid, most overestimate the number of young people who get covid and underestimate the number of elderly who die from covid.

  9. boss, sorry to inform you, but Mette F(ascist), the prime minister of Denmark and her merry band of Emeries, has, as of today, reverted the country back to requiring Kung flu Passports. She exposed the utility of the vaccine as pretty much useless in the presence of the some 10% of the population that is unvaccinated:
Announcing the government’s plan to reintroduce Denmark’s Covid-19 health pass, the coronapas, Fredriksen said Monday evening that “for all of you who are not vaccinated, (things) are going to become more difficult. And that’s also how I think it should be.”

“It can’t be said clearly enough. Those of you who are not yet been vaccinated: do so,” the prime minister also said.

  10. Fredriksen said Monday evening that “for all of you who are not vaccinated, (things) are going to become more difficult. And that’s also how I think it should be.”

“It can’t be said clearly enough. Those of you who are not yet been vaccinated: do so,” the prime minister also said.

I wonder how much Pfizer and Moderna donated to her re-election campaign to cause such a sudden about-face?

  11. Unfortunately, Bill C, money doesn’t matter as much in parliamentary elections; the kind that would result in a prime minister. I doubt it’s that.

My impression is that there are two types of, let’s call them, authoritarian leaders. The one group is the cynical bastards like Pelosi and Obama who don’t believe a word of what they’re saying about the Kung flu (they probably have lots of Ivermectin et al at the ready of need be tho’). The other group is the terrified as explained by the CS Lewis’ quote about A Tyranny of the Good:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

This group includes the leadership of the Aussies, Kiwis, and now the Danes.

  12. The covid dashboard for Polk County, WI, says that the covid caseload is “critically high,” with 500+ active cases and 13 hospitializations in a county with a population of around 43,000.

But this article says that Polk County is doing just fine:

    #48. Polk County, WI
    – Inpatient beds occupied: 45.0% (11.0% by COVID-19 patients)
    — 37.5% more availability than Wisconsin overall
    – ICU beds occupied: 0.0% (0.0% by COVID-19 patients)
    — 100.0% more availability than Wisconsin overall
    – Cases per 100k in last 7 days: 578 (253 cases)
    – Population that is fully vaccinated: 46.2% (20,219 fully vaccinated)
    — 20.9% lower vaccination rate than Wisconsin

  13. Interesting data there, MP. Very good. It is ironic that it comes from people who would write BS like this Currently, 58.1% of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated. Epidemiologists say the lower the vaccination rate, the more the virus has the opportunity to continue to evolve and become more dangerous.
