Dear Dem Strategists:
How to rebuild? Here’s a thought:
And more riot talk. Lots more talk about riots.
Keep up the good work.
That is all.

Why in the world would anyone want to increase voter participation?
Emery just kind of spouts off random Democrat talking points. There is no thought behind them.
If Virginia hadn’t made voter fraud easier (as Emery decribed), Youngkin might have won by ten points — or lost by ten points.
Like I said, there is no thought at all behind his comments.

Emery, with due deference to the fact that a lot of chickens**t “crimes” are called felonies today, are you really OK with felons casting votes? A “felon”, historically speaking, is a person who has indulged a large degree of harm to his fellow man, and you’re A-OK with that person guiding the largest use of force against men on the planet?
In the same way, are you really OK with a lack of voter ID? You present ID to get a job, contract debt, open a bank account, buy alcohol, buy a car, buy a house, travel, and a whole bunch more. Call me weird, but I am absolutely not OK with the notion that a person who cannot find work, rent/buy a home, rent/buy a car, travel, contract debt, and the like casting a vote to guide our government. He’s proven that he’s so distant from our society that he’s really of little use to it.

Apparently we secured all the elections in the past year, because I’m not seeing a lot of claims of fraud or stolen elections after yesterday. Congratulations to all the election security folks out there for all your hard work!
Perhaps Woolly subscribes to The Gateway Pundit idea that Youngkin’s win might be a part of a “larger psyop” carried out by Democrats, which centers around McAuliffe “as a sacrificial lamb.” But, in reality, they still think Democrats will still steal “future election[s] at will.”
November 4th, 2021 at 10:08 am
Talk to Stacey Abrams about stolen elections, you empty headed twit.
November 4th, 2021 at 10:21 am
I’m sure someday I’ll encounter someone who refers to ideas they don’t like who isn’t an insufferable tool.
But not today.
November 4th, 2021 at 11:59 am
Oh Emery, I’m sure if you actually try hard enough you could accomplish the whole “not being an insufferable tool” thing.
But not today.
November 4th, 2021 at 12:07 pm
It’s just blather. Emery has no “ideas.”
November 4th, 2021 at 12:13 pm
Yesterday Emery amused with his idea that the Democrats have a majority in the senate, and that they took over the House last November.
November 4th, 2021 at 1:40 pm
Youngkin demonstrated Republican values and competence, not conspiracy theories and lies, win elections. And that high turnout isn’t bad for Republicans and rarely changes who wins — so they should stop acting like it is by trying to make it harder to vote.
November 4th, 2021 at 2:44 pm
Agreed MP.
An “insufferable tool” and fool in one.
November 4th, 2021 at 2:47 pm
Emery,
Winning an election does not prove that the election process is sound and there is a huge gap between making voting easier and making cheating easier.
Using my example of shop lifting, look at how it is out of control in San Francisco forcing several Big Box and national chain stores to flee the city.
When someone, like Trump, Stacey Abrams or Terry McAuliffe claims (ad nauseum) that an election was “stolen”, they are usually implying a concerted effort to stuff ballot boxes and engage in widespread controlled fraud, (think JFK and anyone elected in Chicago) – but such instances are rare and not particularly effective – but making it easier for illegals and the memory ward at your local old folks home to vote is…….well….a Democrat Party strategy.
I mean…….when India, Mexico and the Ukraine balk at what Democrats consider normal…..well…..again…..
November 4th, 2021 at 3:09 pm
So even if Republicans win, they still need to concoct conspiracy theories? Perhaps they realized if they don’t cry foul on their own wins, it proves the game. So instead, they cry foul on future Democrat wins, by saying they still manipulated this election. Tricky.

Jonah Goldberg is a pretty smart guy. The other day he made the argument that FB’s algorithm couldn’t be throttling traffic to conservative web sites because several conservative web sites (like the Daily Wire) routinely are the most shared links on FB.
Which is really boneheaded thinking. It isn’t really innumeracy, more like misreasoning. Looking at which web sites gets the most shares doesn’t tell you whether or not FB is throttling traffic, because you can’t see examine the algorithm. If a link to Daily Wire gets the most shares on a certain day, say ten million, it might have been fifteen million without FB’s throttling Daily Wire’s share.
Maybe look at it this way. You go to your boss and ask for a raise. He tells you no, because you are already the highest paid employee. You tell him to go screw himself because you weren’t asking to be the highest paid worker, you were asking for more money. You ask one question, he gives you the answer to a question you never asked.
Emery isn’t very smart, or he would know that just because a person won an election, that does not mean that a lot of people didn’t cast illegal votes for his opponent.
This is really simple, elementary reasoning.
November 4th, 2021 at 3:30 pm
Hey! Conspiracy theory guy is back! You know, the guy who believes that Trump conspired with Putin to steal the 2016 election from Hillary!
November 4th, 2021 at 4:09 pm
Republicans won a bunch of close races in Virginia, proving that the ‘Democrats will steal it if it’s close’ argument is paranoid nonsense.
November 4th, 2021 at 4:22 pm
“Emery isn’t very smart”
Which he has proved once again.

Emery on November 4, 2021 at 4:09 pm said:

So if in an election, 50,000 votes are counted for candidate A, and 49,900 are counted for candidate B, that proves that all of candidate B’s votes were valid?
Yes, Emery really is that stupid.
See my 3:13. The winner or loser of an election is immaterial in determining whether or not there was ballot fraud. To believe otherwise is so dumb I am almost embarrassed for Emery.
But I’ll try to make it simpler: If fraudulent, illegal, or improper votes are cast in an election, they are not necessarily cast for the person who won the election by getting 50%+1 of the votes.

Here is how changes to voting laws should work in a healthy democracy.
Any changes in voting laws should be made after deliberation and debate by the existing voters or their representatives.
Northam restored voting rights to 69,000 felons in Virginia back in March of this year. It wasn’t illegal for him to do so, that doesn’t mean it was wise. He short-cut the in-motion process of the VA legislator restoring voting rights to felons just in time for them to vote for McAuliffe.
I really don’t care how these felons vote — maybe they all voted for Youngkin. Whatever.
But it damages people’s faith that elections are fair when term limited governors or judges or states attorney general unilaterally make changes to voting law.

I worked in the hard sciences for decades (no, I am not a rocket scientist or any other kind of scientist). I managed the operation of highly complicated hardware and software that was very expensive to build and to run, and which was unique. Everything about it was a scientific project, from building it to collecting and interpreting the data it produced. We discovered truths about the natural world. There is a long review process in evaluating the data we produced, and that process was mirrored in the building and operation of the facility.
Because it was built by scientists.
The first step in answering a question is to audit the question itself.
Is this a problem that can be solved?
Then you ask if the existing facility can solve it.
Then you ask if there is another, cheaper way to provide the data needed to answer the question/solve the problem.
Finally you rank all the problems (demand for the facility exceeded supply) and award the use of the facility for the minimum number of hours to the “best” proposals.
At every step, the process could be questioned. The results were frequently audited.
So I get irritated when internet trolls cut-n-paste ridiculous arguments they picked up from partisan web sites written by hacks who probably can’t understand their monthly electrical bill.
Finding truth is hard, not easy, and the truth don’t care about what you want it to be.
Richard Feynman is a hero of mine:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWr39Q9vBgo
Feynman was wise enough to know that the range of questions science could answer was narrow. Can it determine the mass of the moon and its distance? Yes, certainly. Can science tell you if felons should be allowed to vote? Nope.

Regarding the notion that this election proves the the GOP can win close elections without fraud coming into play, Youngkin’s margin was 2.3%, I believe. In contrast, Biden’s margins were 0.23%, 0.3%, 0.63%, and 1.17% in Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. So apparently the reality that Youngkin’s margin was, in percentage points, up to 10X greater than those of Biden in tightly contested states makes no difference to Emery’s logic.
Still waiting, by the way, for an explanation from Emery why we should want violent criminals and people who are totally disengaged from society to vote. Crazy me, I’d thought that we’d ordinarily prefer to be ultimately governed by law-abiding citizens who are eligible to hold jobs and do other things for which an ID is required, but apparently the left thinks differently.

Pa. Gov. Tom Wolf’s wife dropped off his mail ballot, violating state election lawhttps://www.spotlightpa.org/news/2021/11/pa-tom-wolf-mail-ballot-election-law-violation/
So, since we know that there is voter fraud in PA, that means the GOP can’t win close elections in PA.
So sayeth Emery.

Get over your self. Remember, it’s Virginia where some still think the Lost Cause isn’t lost yet.

Bill C, the only time it is okay to question election results is when a Democrat loses, like Stacey Abrams or Al Gore or Al Franken.
November 5th, 2021 at 5:09 pm
Only deeply stupid people believe trading election integrity for higher turnout is a positive development.
Oh hi, Emery!
