Nothing New Under The Sun
By Mitch Berg
In the eighties, the televangelists had the best grift going. Money pouring in, and for many years no real scrutiny of what they were doing for, or with, all that money.
But that train largely left the station (I’m looking at you, Joel Osteen and Creflo Dollar).
But the grift? That just goes on and on.
Ibran X. Xendi is like the Jim Bakker of critical race theory – only his grift involves gaslighting all of western culture.
“Anti-Racism” is a political belief (which in many ways only tangentially intersects with attitudes about race at all), having little to do with ethnics, morality or behavior. Xendi’s statement is pure cultural gaslighting.
Helpfully, Xendi elaborates:
He’s a PhD, remember, and yet doesn’t apparently know the difference between a word and a phrase.
And yet he’s got the kind of scam running that Jim Bakker could only dream about:
Gotta admire Xendi’s ability to cater to a market – even if it’s just self-loathing progressive academics, hangers-on, and NPR personalities.

This guy, Ibram X. Kendi, is he the new Ta-Nehisi Coates? I haven’t heard anything from the latter for a while. Did he screw up somehow? Say something “white”?
It’s really interesting (well, to me anyways) just how gullible lefties are even as they look down on those who follow (aka are taken in by) televangelists. Example number one is Obama, of course. And his spouse, Michelle, for that matter.
But look at how we’re now seeing a new generation of “socialism’s never really been tried” types – and these are the smart ones, the ones who are aware of socialism’s awful history – there’s an lot of young people who are completely ignorant of the previous attempts at socialism.

I’m sure he’d also like to reduce all descriptions of race to “black” and “not black”.
Because Black Lives Matter and “not black” lives don’t.

More Nazi ideology. They will grab onto anything to gain power. People will say that they believe that there are no absolute truths, but that is bullshit. The only truth then is power. The nazis were open about this belief, the commies hid it behind intellectual theories about the forces that shaped history, but it amounted to the same thing. If you gain power, it is because “history” dictated that you would gain power.
You need to get on the right side of history, as Obama was fond of saying.

All the first tweet reminds me of is the great meme showing Orwell in the background and said “I wrote 1984 as a warning, not a fucking instruction manual”

Mammy, isn’t that an oxymoron? I mean you did use scary quotes, but still. History is something that happened. Therefore history cannot dictate what will happen in the future. But, since history repeats itself, ie similar actions lead to similar outcomes (I am sure there is a scientific term for that), no-one can say they were pre-destined by history. Unless of course they studied history and deliberately put in motion actions to affect the outcome. That makes them smarter than the average bear but hardly pre-destined. But I guess an average Kool-Aid drinker will be too starry eyed to notice. Does that make sense?
