  1. Nearly 200, 000 people are dead, but yeah, let’s got nuts over Pelosi getting an indoor haircut.

Good thing she wasn’t misleading the country about the seriousness of Covid….

  2. Good thing she wasn’t misleading the country about the seriousness of Covid….

She was. Pelosi is not only a hypocrite, she’s 80 yrs old, a high risk group. What this episode reveals is that she doesn’t believe the Blue Flu hype she’s been pushing on the country.

  3. 2/7/20 — Trump to Woodward: “This is deadly stuff .. It’s also more deadly than … even your strenuous flus.”

2/26/20 Trump to the public: “It’s a little like the regular flu that we have flu shots for. And we’ll essentially have a flu shot for this in a fairly quick manner.”

The way to calm people isn’t to lie to them. It’s to level with them, so they understand what needs to be done, and that everything that can be done is being done.

Yes, many knew he was lying at the time, but that doesn’t make it any less appalling.

  4. The Instapundit nailed it:

I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who claim it’s a crisis, start acting like it’s a crisis.

  5. By the way, Emery, you claim to live on a lake in Northern Minnesota. All the land in that area originally was owned by Native Americans but was stolen from them, which means you’re in possession of stolen property. A thief has no moral authority to lecture the rest of us on proper behavior.

Let us know when you’ve atoned for your sins by deeding the land back to the local tribe and moved to wherever your ancestors came from.

  6. The Leech Lake Band of Chippewa operates the Northern Lights Casino near Walker.

    I think they’ll be fine.

  7. Waiting for MBerg’s moderation algorithm..

The panic preventer has logged on:
“The Democrats never even mentioned the words LAW & ORDER at their National Convention. That’s where they are coming from. If I don’t win, America’s Suburbs will be OVERRUN with Low Income Projects, Anarchists, Agitators, Looters and, of course, “Friendly Protesters”. ~ Donald J. Trump
    @realDonaldTrump

  8. Emery, it was none other than Nancy Pelosi who personally went to San Francisco’s Chinatown to try to accuse the President of racism when the reality was he was–unlike Pelosi–taking the epidemic seriously. Fact, buddy.

Trump has made mistakes, starting with his team not seeing the deadly seriousness of Democratic governors (ahem) failing to protect nursing homes and clean the subways, but they pale in comparison to Comrade Pelosi.

Who, evidently, is so “bright”, she tells us we need to enact laws so we can figure out what’s in them, and so aware of her surroundings, she was unaware of California’s COVID laws, even though (as jdm notes) she’s from a high risk group.

Yeah, that’s the kind of person we want that close to the nuclear football and the White House….not.

  9. I think the point of this thread was Pelosi’s hypocrisy and stupidity, not what the resident threadjacker wants to babble about.

Don’t feed the troll, y’all. Seriously.

  10. “I was set up” is not a statement that ever needs to be said if you do the right thing, even when no one is watching. If there was only an institution whose job it was to point these things out…

  11. As compared to Trump, who was duped by:

    Kim Jong Un
    Vladimr Putin
    Bob Woodward
    Michael Cohen
and about 10,000 other people, because he’s never responsible.

and Pelosi was under the impression this woman didn’t want/expect her to wear a mask moving from one part of the salon to another. That’s what your’e concerned about..seriously?

  12. It’s time to call you guys what you are, a real threat to American democracy and fact-based decision making. You’re militant, even violent extremists who deny truth, embrace terroristic attitudes if not conduct (e.g. Kenosha shooter) and abet the destruction of our Constitutional protections. Yet, you seriously want us to worry about Pelosi’s hair stylist? She’s shown more brains asleep than Dicktator has shown in his entire life.

  13. Actually, I thought it was kind of funny, Nancy P using the same excuse as Marion B:

    “The bitch set me up.”

  14. JD, it *is* funny. It’s even more funny because the post and comments set the p-boy off like a 4th of July fireworks show. It’s seen again and again that just the mere existence of Trump is enough to get weirdos like p-boy to drop the mask as a rational human being to be revealed as a psychotic mental case.

  15. jdm, I agree. It’s weird that certain trolls accuse SITD readers of being violent extremists who embrace terroristic attitudes. Heck, we’re not Antifa radicals burning down Minneapolis. We’re not Deep Staters trying to undermine the legitimate government. We’re Conservatives. We’re the ones decrying the loss of Public Order, the abrogation of the Constitution, the decline of civililty.

It’s almost as if some people are projecting their own mental illnesses on us, to make themselves feel better.

  16. Aaaaaannnnd, once again, Emery gas lights, even after Dr. Fauci debunked Woodward’s assessment. He also doesn’t acknowledge Woodward’s timing on releasing his nothing burger; two days before his book goes on sale. Should he be arrested for withholding said info? Finally, in 2009, as people were dying from H1N1, Obama was doing who knows what, so gaffe a minute Joe spewed out a screed that caused even the media to criticize him. Obama had to walk back his fear mongering. But, keep up the hypocrisy, dip stick!

  17. “You’re militant, even violent extremists..”. Really? What specific violence are you talking about? But anyway, you win the Drama Queen Award of the week..

  18. Thanks for the reminder, Big Thief Emery. Obama hated America so much he couldn’t even pretend by wearing the flag pin. Pelosi hates ordinary Americans so much she can’t pretend to follow the rules, either.

  19. Biden doesn’t need to persuade people Trump is poison. He needs to persuade those who have spent 4 years being appalled by Trump but don’t feel like taking a few minutes to vote.

  20. Nah, no need. Democrat true-believers will harvest and complete their ballots for them – dead people, old people, people who forgot to forward their mail – they all would have wanted to vote for Harris anyway, so it’s no problem. In St. Paul, they’ve already started: the trunks of two Volvos in Mac-Groveland are full of completed ballots ready to dispatch to whichever precinct comes up short on election night.

And don’t you DARE suggest there’s any fraud.

  22. As you can see from Heritage — the numbers of proven voter mail-in fraud are far smaller than the number of lies Trump has told while in office. And unlike Trump’s lies, the small incidence of fraud hasn’t killed anyone.

  23. the numbers of proven voter mail-in fraud

Emery proves that fraudulent behavior for a secret activity is hard to prove, on account of it being a secret activity.

Gee, I wonder how come there aren’t more convictions for an activity where is there anonymity by design?

  24. Emery equates convictions with cases and concludes there is no voter fraud. Let’s see how that logic holds up in other arenas.

There were X convictions for rape. In order to conclude that there were exactly X rapes, no more, no less, one must believe that all rapes are reported. All reports are investigated. All investigations are prosecuted. All prosecutions end in conviction. If any of those beliefs are mistaken, then the incidence of rape is higher than the number of convictions.

    As with voter fraud.
