And To Think Conservatives Believe Big Media Writes Stories About Conservative / Republican People And Events Long Beforehand, Because They’re All Writing To A Narrative

Jessica Kwong, progressive stenographer at former magazine “Newsweek”, on Donald Trump’s thanksgiving:

“it was written before knowing about the president’s surprise visit to Afghanistan-an honest mistake”

In other words, pre-written.

The Big Media aren’t “the enemy of the people”. They’re worse; after assuming the mantle of “guardian of democracy” (which, we are told, without their ministrations would “die in darkness”), they are doing something very, very different. They’re worse than an enemy; they are betraying a trust – however misbegotten.

They are swindling the people.

UPDATE: And apparently the once-mighty Newsweek can be shamed into decency; Kwong has been fired.

I’m sure she’ll be off the beach soon.

  1. UPDATE: And apparently the once-mighty Newsweek can be shamed into decency

Mitch, Mitch, Mitch, when will you ever learn? That wasn’t shame, that was controlling expenses. Jessica Kwong suddenly became too expensive for the failing Newsweek.

I hear she has hired an agent who is negotiating a book deal.

  2. You know how it is. Pointing out the obvious — that so many of our elites are lying idiots — will get you called “anti-intellectual.”

  3. She filed her story and then took off for her own four-day vacation, spent drowning puppies and researching teenage tweets from folks who suddenly and unexpectedly find themselves in the news.

  4. The level of hatred these people feel is just astonishing. I thought they hated Bush. This makes that look like puppy love.

  5. Her profile is still up on Newsweak. Just sayin’. And yes, the editor needs to go as well for allowing an article about events that had yet to happen.

Also read a bit of her Twitter feed; suffice it to say that she’s quite the piece of work, and that falls into old proverb for journalists “I don’t care if you’re sleeping with elephants, but don’t cover the circus if you do.” Another place where…ahem….NewsWeak needs to take a look at replacing some editors with guys who actually know the terrain.

  6. Also this whole story just gives Trump more ammo to push the fake news narrative. Well its not really a narrative anymore its just a fact at this point.

  7. Do you get the feeling that if Kwong HAD known where Trump was going that she would have tweeted the details out in advance in case any Taliban were interested?

  8. Or perhaps, NW, Trump already knew this tendency of hers, and decided not to give her tickets on Air Force One for precisely that reason.

  9. “You couldn’t have a starker contrast between the multiple layers of checks and balances at [legacy media] and a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas.”

15 years ago, and still true today.

  10. Meanwhile, Nancy and the Squad are on their way to the global warming conference to deal with the greatest existential threat of our time. I hope that another existential threat doesn’t see this has an opportunity.

  11. The mod bot Mitch uses must be on crack or something. Or was probably written by someone at Google.
