Tailgunner Joe Is Alive And Well In Hollywood

Eric McCormick calls for a blacklist of Trump supporters in Hollywood:

Your first question might be “Who in the flaming hootie-hoo is Eric McCormick. Truth is, I had to ask, myself. Turns out he was in the once-upon-a-time hit TV show Will and Grace.

Which I watched maybe twice. It was basically Friends, but with characters.

Anyway, where were we?

Oh, yeah. Eric McCormack accidentally voicing the inner id of “progs”

We know it was an accident, because Mr…let me look back up to the top…McCormick is trying to walk it back. I suspect a social media spanking was involved.

  1. “Which I watched maybe twice. It was basically Friends, but with characters”

Wasn’t a fan either. But, I just happened to look at Wikipedia about the show, and saw this:

“…sitcom has been credited with helping and improving public opinion of the LGBT community, with former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden commenting that the show “probably did more to educate the American public” on LGBT issues “than almost anything anybody has ever done so far”.[3] In 2014, the Smithsonian Institution added an LGBT history collection to their museum which included items from Will & Grace. The curator Dwight Blocker Bowers stated that the sitcom used “comedy to familiarize a mainstream audience with gay culture” in a way that was “daring and broke ground” in American media.”

No original thought on there from me – just cutting and pasting (and attributing). I feel like one of the other blog regulars…

  2. The only reason McCormack’s call for a blacklist has been condemned by a few on the Left is because they realize that keeping a literal blacklist would make them the bad guys in the view of the public. There is no rejection of an unofficial blacklist per se. As Andrew Klavan has said, in Hollywood, any significant project needs to be signed off by dozens of people, any of whom can enforce a blacklist by simply withholding their signature, no questions asked.

  3. His “apology” was basically “Im sorry you thought I was calling for a blacklist. I am but here it is in kinder, less authoritarian, words.”

  4. All I know about W & G is that they it had an episode with Elton John as the godfather of the gay mafia (after one character questioned that there was such a thing.) Elton promised the guy that he could fix it so that he was “banned from every gym in America.”

  5. Wasn’t there an episode called “Night of the Gerbils”, or was that a PBS special?

  6. You left the door wide open there Swiftee. Using my better judgement Im just going to walk by it now…

  7. POD, by noting a wide open door, I dunno if you walked by that one. Remembering all kinds of jokes right now that I dare not repeat.

  8. Let’s remember, Joe McCarthy was a Republican, he was abetted by other Republicans and conservative, small-gov’mint, state’s rightist Democrats who blamed people based on suspicion, rather than evidence, of being “gasp!!!!” Communists. He used his witch-hunt (a real one, not like the one Trump claims occurred and was repudiated by DOJ’s IG as not having occurred), to acquire power, that was his aim, not finding communists.

Donald Trump finds enemies based solely on party affiliation, no Democrat is to be trusted to investigate him. He threatens to jail them, he has them investigated, he certainly seeks to ostracize them from the government, and if in the government, from their jobs. Good, decent people are forced out simply because they are not loyal to HIM, and because they speak truth to power about his abuses, dishonesty and corruptions. He does all this because he’s fearful of having his power diminished, his “legacy” demeaned. He does it to consolidate power. Does this sound familiar?

When you worry about some Hollywood actor making a quip more than you worry about the President using the power of the executive to punish those he hates purely based on the fact that they don’t agree with him, lumps folks together purely by association, then I think you’re either tilting at windmills, ignoring the (what should not be) painful truth in front of you, or worse, both.

  9. Paddyboy, I recommend you Google “Verona Papers.” Turns out old Joe was correct – the Commies were infiltrating America. Democrats gave the Commies comfort and aid – still do.

The Hollywood Blacklist still exists, only now Democrats use it against patriotic Americans. See: article linked by Mitch.

Investigating his enemies solely because they speak up? Why yes, it does sound familiar. I believe he goes by Joe The Plumber, an average guy minding his own business when Candidate Obama came to his door to push socialism. I also remember Lois Lerner at the IRS. Crazy thing is – the people abusing government for personal power were Democrats. It’s as if you’re Projecting.

Our gracious host has a law for people like you.
