Boxer: “Kill The Messenger!”
By Mitch Berg
So what we have here are “Scientists”, caught red-handed trying to doctor data, jiggle the “Peer Review” process and defame rather than scientifically refute their critics, in a scam whose goal was to secure their funding and, by the way, bring epic and unprecedented political power to their (inevitably liberal) political benefactors – which is, by any measure, fraud. Which is a crime.
But Barbara Boxer – the stupidest person ever to serve as a US Senator – knows who the real enemies are:
“You call it ‘Climategate’; I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate,'” she said during a committee meeting. “Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I’m looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public.”
The e-mails, from scientists at the University of East Anglia, were obtained through hacking.
That seems an odd thing to state as a conclusion; I’ve heard that it’s equally likely they were obtained from a conscientious whistle-blower.
At any rate, Boxer seems to be serving the dictates of her lord and master Rahm Emanual, and is putting this crisis to good use:
Boxer said her committee may hold hearings into the matter as its top Republican, Sen. James Inhofe (Okla.), has asked for, but that a criminal probe would be part of any such hearings.
“We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not,” Boxer said. “Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated.
“This is a crime,” Boxer said.
The biggest crime of all is that Barbara Boxer has a job more responsible than serving burgers at a truck stop.

My favorite part is how she doesn’t figure out that Congress and U.S. courts have no jurisdiction over the theft of emails in England, and that Congress DOES in fact have some jurisdiction over the obvious defrauding of the U.S. taxpayer, who paid for some of the “research” “finagled” by those in association with the U. of East Anglia.
And she’s one WRITING the laws. Yikes. You’re right, it’s a crime she’s in that position, but no, I wouldn’t trust her with anything so important as a hamburger.

I agree with Bubbasan… Miss Boxer the Waitress would ignore my order and give me what she thought was best AND carry out Peeve’s request that I paid for his meal.

e-mails were only posted after the whistle-blower could not get the MSM in the UK to report on the story.
Bias? What Bias?

This is very similar to the “Joe the Plumber” incident. When anwering Joe’s question about a business owner’s tax liability, Barack Obama was caught telling the truth about how he was going to fleece rich people when he became President. But when it was learned that Joe was operating his business without the proper licenses, all of a sudden Obama’s rhetoric became invalid.

Even if you kill the messenger, the message still came through. They cooked data and peer review, and are more scoundrels than scientists.

The amount of dishonesty now on the display by the warmers is astounding.
First the reference to ‘stolen’ emails. Emails that discussed conspiracies to defraud funding agencies and evade FOIA requests.
Second the argument from “Are you going to believe me or your lying eyes”. The “trick to hide the decline” was exactly what it sounds like it was, in context. It was trick to hide the decline in global temps shown in tree ring density post 1960. They didn’t throw out all the tree-ring density data, which they had to know was NOT a good proxy for determining global temps if they really believed in AGW, since it showed a decline post-1960. They only threw out the tree ring data that conflicted with their thesis. Post 1960 they grafted ground station temps — which did show an increase — in place of tree ring determined temps onto their famous graph showing global temps for the last millennium.
This is not a “trick” as in putting rice grains in your salt shaker to keep the salt dry. It’s a “trick” as in “you bump into the mark to distract him & when you do I will lift his wallet”.
Beware the strawman. Of course the emails don’t prove anything about AGW. What they do show, to a reasonable person, is that the scientific case for global warming is far, far weaker than the warmers insist that it is.

Does she have some evidence the hackers were from the USA rather than from England, or even Nigeria?
That would have been great fun – replace the downloaded e-mails with thousands of offers to move money out of the country and discount Viagra.

I’d counter that she’s more qualified to be ‘serving’ Truckers at a truck stop, but that would be ungentlemanly.
Then again, she is *my* senator, so I guess I can call ’em like I see ’em…

Todays wire service article sooooo tiptoed around the story (see your morning paper). They mention that some emails were “stolen”, but do not really talk about the content of said emails. Only that “some figures may have been fudged”. That’s like saying the Hitler diaries were “fudged”. Or the Texas Air Guard memos were “fudged”.

“But Barbara Boxer – the stupidest person ever to serve as a US Senator…”
Second stupidest. You forgot Mark Dayton.
