This Is Not The 21st Century They Promised

Will sex robots need to…give consent?

Here’s something you rarely hear in the discussion of robots designed for the sole purpose of having sexual relations with humans: Is the sex consensual?

Up next: Gloria Alred representing robots in a #MeToo case…

  1. It brings to mind George Carlin’s wonderful routine about starting a car on a cold morning:

[Think sputtering engine] Please don’t start me…

[Think sputtering engine] Please don’t start me…

[Think grinding starter] I don’t want to go-oo-oo-oo

[Think grinding starter] I don’t want to go-oo-oo-oo

On mornings like these, I spend a lot of time coaxing my truck before I gain its reluctant consent.

  2. Look for a sharp increase in reports of domestic robot violence, especially around Super Bowl time.

  3. Better question: if you hack the software to say yes, is it rape?

Did you ever think of asking the welding and painting robots on the assembly lines if consented to work without compensation? Or are auto companies merely the 21st century versions of slave owners?

Dear God, these people have no concept of self awareness and need to humanize everything, including machines. It is clear that they have rejected all of Western Civilization and embraced some New Age religion that has no concept of real identity.

  4. Liberal thinking; sex robots must give consent, but coworkers and acquaintances of Bill Clinton and Larry Ellison, not so much. Jury is still out (literally) on Avenatti.

I still keep (vainly) hoping that people would start to realize that anytime having sex requires disinfectant and antibiotics, that’s bad, but apparently that degree of common sense went out the door a long time ago.

  5. And cause a huge explosion! Sounds like a great Saturday Night Live skit, that is if the show’s writers were interested in being funny for the first time since the 1980s.

  6. NW, I thought about that after writing that and my conclusion was that I was wrong, they’re not humanizing machines, they dehumanizing people into machines. That fits with leftist collectivist thought: you are a mere machine, programmed by society to perform the functions assigned to you, with no rights or worth other than that permitted by your rulers. In their view, you are no different than a robot on an assembly line, nor a sexbot.

  7. I’ll hire pimp bots to provide me with willing sex bots. No questions asked.

    Problem solved.

  8. I’ll hire pimp bots to provide me with willing sex bots. No questions asked.

    Problem solved.

Fair enough, but the pimp bot will have to have a pimp cane that retracts into its arm.
