Obama Won’t Read Palin’s Book…He Thinks It’s About Him.

and…in a surprisingly early concession…

“You know, if – if I feel like I’ve made the very best decisions for the American people and three years from now I look at it and, you know, my poll numbers are in the tank and because we’ve gone through these wrenching changes, you know, politically, I’m in a tough spot, I’ll – I’ll feel all right about myself,” Obama told CNN’s Ed Henry during an interview in China.

You may not run for a second term?

[insert dramatic orchestral exclamation here]

…because a resounding Jimmuh-like expulsion from office might leave your self esteem a wee bit bruised you mean?

It’s all about you, isn’t it, Sir?

  1. I heard an interview earlier today where The Won said he won’t leave the next president with a mess even if that means his approval ratings are in the tank when he leaves. Oh cry me a river Won. Just govern like Clinton – let the Republicans take back Congress, do nothing, stay out of the way and everyone will love you.

  2. Kinda presumptuous to assume he won’t leave anyone a mess, when in reality everything he’s touched has turned to, um, “poop.” The White House is looking like that village from Holy Grail, to put it mildly.

I wouldn’t mind if he didn’t run–heck, if the next three people in line weren’t Biden, Pelosi, and Clinton, I’d encourage him to resign right now.

On the other hand, Biden’s looking downright honest and competent compared to Obama right now……

  3. Reid, you mean. The Senate’s resident Klansman isn’t in the official succession list.

But shudder is right. One wonders how Reid maintains his LDS church membership with those views. Mormons I’ve known are not exactly keen on keeping prenatal infanticide legal.

  4. LOL, at least when Obama writes a book HE actually writes it, unlike Palin, whose un-factual ghost written effort is already sale priced at $5 (when it isn’t being given away), down from around $30.

And reading it, Obama wouldn’t make the mistake the Rush Limbaugh made of believing the Palin book is about policy.

  5. KR is as ever, inaccurate. Obama has himself written three books, and done a CD apparently.

But I can see how he might make that mistake, one of projection. KR needs to project someone with Ayer’s background as writing (one of?) Obama’s three books, to make the real, factual background of the ghostwriter of Palin’s book look less ‘out there’ extreme.

Now if Palin ever actually writes a book, herself, AND has more of substance and fact in it or maybe, even, hope of hopes, something cogent relating to policy included, it would make sense for Obama to expend his valuable time in reading it. But, seriously…………how likely is it that Palin will ever write a book herself, much less manage the rest? NOT.

  6. DG,

Let’s be honest: almost nobody in the public eye actually writes their own books. Ghost-writing is a normal course of action for busy people (and let’s remember that Obama as a Senator was far, far, far from busy). Having ghost-written a book, I’ll also tell you it’s a highly-honorable trade. 🙂

But DG – as to the “substance and fact” of Palin’s book; may I presume you’ve read it, then? Because this past few weeks have seen a lot of reviews from people whose only source is other reviews from other people who’ve not read it, either.

By the way, I’m waffling back and forth on posting a piece fisking your co-blogger’s absolutely fact-free attack on Gov. Palin. Not so much for the factlessness of the whole thing – notify the media, a leftyblogger makes stuff up – but for calling her a “hick queen”. I’d be interested in seeing how he believes the term “hick” is any better or more acceptable a term than, say, “nigger”, “spic” or “kike”.
