Challenge Accepted And Returned!

Shelley Garland – whose bio describes here as “…an activist and a feminist and is currently completing an MA degree in philosophy. When she’s not gagging at South Africa’s unique brand of rainbow politics, she’s working on ways to smash the patriarchy”, writes in – where else – the HuffPo:

Some of the biggest blows to the progressive cause in the past year have often been due to the votes of white men. If white men were not allowed to vote, it is unlikely that the United Kingdom would be leaving the European Union, it is unlikely that Donald Trump would now be the President of the United States, and it is unlikely that the Democratic Alliance would now be governing four of South Africa’s biggest cities.

If white men no longer had the vote, the progressive cause would be strengthened. It would not be necessary to deny white men indefinitely – the denial of the vote to white men for 20 years (just less than a generation) would go some way to seeing a decline in the influence of reactionary and neo-liberal ideology in the world. The influence of reckless white males were one of the primary reasons that led to the Great Recession which began in 2008. This would also strike a blow against toxic white masculinity, one that is long needed.

Ms. Garland – “progressivie” utopianism has given us ever single one of the woes of the past 100 years.  No exceptions.

And if you want to deny me my franchise, I urge you to get about 30 of your friends together and see just how toxic masculinity can get.

  1. Yet another example of how the progressive left is nowhere near as far from the KKK as they would have us believe, I think. Shades of Lenin’s treatment of the kulaks as well.

Either that, or Ms. Garland is partially bitter that she’s not enjoying very much “toxic white masculinity.”

  2. She is an unapologetic racist and a sexist.

She seeks to solve problems with racism and sexism with more racism and sexism.

So she’s also, you know, an idiot.

  3. I must disagree with “Shellie”. I believe the Earth would be a better place if we could tie feminists to posts in the desert.

Question is, who has the better chance of actually getting their way if and when the wheels fall off?

  4. The fact that congress is too stupid and corrupt to regulate finance and the Fed properly creates tons of bogyMEN. I have no idea how this resolves but it won’t be pretty.

The EU and the EMU are disasters. Unworkable and corrupt. Brexit is the best thing ever for the anglo world.

  5. I have argued for years that if all women are going to do with the vote is to vote Democrat, it undoubtedly was a mistake to entrust it to them in the first place.

  6. South Africa’s constitution is all aspirational positive rights i.e. what the typical Democrat thinks. Total madness.

  7. It is a truism that a government which swears to protect your ‘human rights’ is likely to stand by and do nothing while you are killed, or it will kill you itself.

  8. That is hilarious Mamm! Looks like the snowflakes got their lunch taken.

  9. White Men And The Vote: Why We Took The Blog Down
Huffington Post SA has removed the blog “Could It Be Time To Deny White Men The Franchise?” published on our Voices section on April 13, 2017.

We have done this because the blog submission from an individual who called herself Shelley Garland, who claimed to be an MA student at UCT, cannot be traced and appears not to exist.

We have immediately bolstered and strengthened our blogging procedures that, until now, have operated on the basis of open communication and good faith. From now on, bloggers will have to verify themselves.

We will hold discussions on putting in place even better quality controls.

Once again, a problem of epistemology.
If people on both the left & the right would simply ask themselves “why do I believe this to be true?”, and answer honestly and humbly, the world would be a better place, and at the same time the number of things that people knew to be true would shrink to almost nothing.
Truths are such powerful things, and are so difficult to come by, we should be surprised if we know more than a few true things. As Reagan said “It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.”
