You’d never know it from watching/reading the WaPo, the NYTimes, NPR and the big three – but the American public trusts used car salesmen more than journalists.

Nope – not making it up:  According to an Emerson College, poll, the public trusts the Trump about a quarter more than the mainstream media:

The Trump administration is more trusted than the news media among voters, according to a new Emerson College poll.

The administration is considered truthful by 49 percent of registered voters and untruthful by 48 percent.

But the news media is less trusted than the administration, with 53 percent calling it untruthful and just 39 percent finding it honest.

Question:  what are the other 39% thinking of?

  1. I remember as a youth in the early 80’s, that the plot line of a number of television dramas revolved around intelligence community leadership (CIA, DIA, NSA, and the worst -“Black Ops”) – snooping, wire-tapping* and otherwise harassing enlightened citizens who opposed the military-industrial complex status quo with do-gooder ideas that didn’t involve massive government investment in the continued cold war footing of the USA.
Fast forward to today’s Democrats acting out and applauding in real life that which was fiction roughly 25 years ago. And using the Democrat Party Dominated Media Culture as the resource through which the harassment is carried out.
*Youngsters may need to Google that reference. Similar to hacking only with… listening to people on the phone. I know? Right?

  2. Question: what are the other 39% thinking of?

Mitch, dontcha read eTASS screeds? And you also have the privilege of reading Doggie comments that thankfully we do not get to see.

  3. It’s not that journalists aren’t trustworthy. You have to consider their paradox: Truth is stationary. Lies move – and require a lot of remembering.

Remember what Mark Twain said: “if you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you DO read the newspaper, you’re misinformed.”

  4. Mitch that article is like 2+ weeks old, got any new numbers? We’ve seriously gone through close to a dozen news cycles since then

  5. True or false: the mainstream press, if it were a person, would be diagnosed as a pathological liar?

  6. If the mainstream press were a person, the remedy would be pharmacological – and lots of it.

  7. Scrolling down on the Emerson College polling page you see this:

“Four New Polls and Emerson Election Map Show Many Tight Races But a Decisive Electoral College Win for Clinton. Senate Dems on Track for 50 or More Seats. Voters Come Home to Major Parties.
    November 7, 2016”
