Nine guns were purchased last year for every 100 Americans:

Driven by terror threats and a potential Hillary Clinton administration, sales of guns in America soared to record levels in 2016, according to the FBI.

Just released FBI background check numbers, which roughly equate gun sales, totaled some 27,538,673, 4 million more than in 2015 and nearly double the number in President Obama‘s first year.

The numbers do not include many guns sold to or given to friends and family.

Sales hit record levels for some 19 months in a row as the number of terrorist attacks around the world and here at home increased, driving purchases by those seeking protection. The increase paralleled increases in those seeking a license to carry a concealed weapon.

The battle over gun control is a fundamentally class-based one – and the proles won.

So far.

Complacency is misplaced.

  1. I’d like to see the variation between Total Background Checks Run versus Total Gun Sales Completed. The difference between those numbers would be the Maximum Number of Ineligible Persons Prevented From Buying A Gun By Background Checks. It’s not the only reason a gun sale falls through (Credit Card Declined and Spouse Is Fuming are factors), but it would give us an outside number.

Then, I’d like to see Number Of People Prosecuted By Obama Administration For Attempting To Illegally Buy A Gun and subtract that number from the Maximum shown above. The people who were rejected but not prosecuted are the Number of Killers Obama Let Walk.

That number should be prominently displayed.

  2. Hi Joe,

Actually, 90+ percent of the denials are due to someone having the same name as a convicted felon and registered crazy. The actual number of prosecutions is less than 50.

  3. I expect to see a blizzard of pro-2A legislation being passed this year. For instance, South Carolina narrowly missed passing constitutional carry in our fine state last year, mostly because of the bad pub generated by that wanna-be klan nit wit in Charleston.

I am informed that legislation will be re-introduced this year, and that we can look forward to it’s passage.

But that doesn’t mean reprobate leftists intend to slacken their efforts to disarm us. The gun-violence-is-a-matter-of-public-health project is steaming ahead in the leftist media.

So many bugs to be crushed, so little time…

  4. Too many health officials look for opportunities to act like authoritarian dictators.

Fortunately, calling something a “public health crisis” and sprinkling press releases with health care analogs and metaphors doesn’t make it so.

  5. I am all in favor of more liberals owning guns (legally). Especially liberal pundits and journalists. Then you wouldn’t have so many libs expressing their apparent;y sincere belief that any person can go into any gun shop in the US and walk out a few minutes later with any firearm they want, in whatever quantity they want.
