Whose Time Has Come

Church (synogogue, temple, mosque, where-ever) is the last place most people think they’ll have to confront violence.

But today’s world shows us that sometimes even when you don’t think you’ll be confronting violence, violence confronts you, whether you’re Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Sikh, or whatever you are.

Lt. Col. Rex Grossman will be conducting one of his “Sheepdog Seminars” in Shakopee this Saturday.  There are still tickets available.

And there’s a discount for GOCRA members – admission is $49.50 instead of $69.  If you need to join GOCRA to get the discount, by all means do!

  1. Yes, those poor Sikhs in Wisconsin, dealing with that right wing terrorist / white supremacist who was too stupid to know there was a difference between Muslims and other faiths. So I suppose in spite of the fact that there are relatively few shootings in places of worship — and those are mostly by right wing nut gun huggers — you’re advertising more paranoia propaganda.

  2. Heyyyyyy! Sticking around to discuss…sort of!

Yes, those poor Sikhs in Wisconsin, dealing with that right wing terrorist

Yeah, also with a history of mental illness.

And he wasn’t “right wing” – he was “white supremacist”. Not the same thing.

  3. Um, DG? Nobody said “good guys with guns” would stop every crime, every time. Yet another strawman.

Walmart is supposedly the largest retailer of firearms and the preferred shopping retailer for those who carry.

So we’ve got cultural snobbery (that’s the polite term; I actually prefer the more-direct “bigotry”), along with strawmen and not-very-well-vetted “facts”.

But feel free to present any source showing that to be a “FACT”.

    Thanks.

  4. DG,

Here’s a question not related to the above. I’d like you to answer it, please.

Are you still claiming that “no civilian has ever stopped a mass shooting?”

Again, I expect an answer. Without one, I’ll start whiting you out again.

    Go.

  5. BTW, Sikh temples would benefit from the seminar that is the (ahem) subject of this post as much as any Christian church.

  6. …and Walmart is supposedly the largest retailer of firearms and the preferred shopping retailer for those who carry.

Somehow I doubt Walmart is he preferred shopping retailer for those who carry. First, despite the best efforts of Civil Rights activists it still takes a fair bit of money, time, and effort to get a CC permit. And that argues against the poorer folks, who tend to be
Walmart’s biggest beneficiaries and patrons. Second, Walmart doesn’t carry pistols, and even Shaq can’t do concealed carry with an AR-15.

Yes, those poor Sikhs in Wisconsin, dealing with that right wing terrorist / white supremacist…

So the guy was a white supremacist. A neo-Nazi. Explain to me the economic and political policies of government control of companies that said Nazi party espouses and explain to me why you try and call them “right wing” when they are properly and firmly in the camp of the left wing s0cial1sts. After all, they were in that camp right up until they attacked the Soviet Union. (The guy was also a half-witted crazy man who shouldn’t have been able to get a weapon, but the Left was famously into “lifestyle choices” that included have the poor and nutty living on the streets in the 60s so they emptied the asylums and condemned millions to horrible suffering. But we needn’t go into that particular Leftist atrocity right now.)

  7. When seconds are the difference between life and death, the police are only minutes to hours away.

Jeanne Assam. Aaron Guyton. Charl van Wyk. Look ’em up, DG. Read carefully.

  8. In the 1930s, Stalin laid down the law: any socialist party, anywhere in the world, that was not under direct control of his comintern was to called be identified as ‘fascist.’

  9. Grossman is a leading expert who made his first career in the Army teaching soldiers how to kill. He’s since become a leading expert in teaching civilians why they kill, and what can be done to prevent it.
