Comprehensive Truck Control

As this is written, as many as sixty dead in Nice, France.  The weapon?  A truck.

Berg’s 17th Law is in full effect; the mainstream media will get every single fact of this story wrong for the next 24-48 hours.

So I won’t speculate yet.

CNN – which is part of the mass media we should not trust for the next day or two – says the occupants (pl) of the truck started shooting at the crowd after they rammed into the throng.

We’ll see.

UPDATE:  We don’t know if this is linked with Nice, but it sure doesn’t look good:

UPDATE 2:  Le Monde says sixty dead:  the Daily Mail and Le Figaro say 73.  Frankfurter Allgemeine is saying 73 dead, 120 injured.

UPDATE 3:  Some French media reports on Twitter say the fire at the Eiffel Tower was just a truck full of fireworks burning.

If true, that’d be a pretty amazing coincidence…

UPDATE 4:  Sky News quotes French authorities saying it’s a terrorist attack, saying 75 dead, in critical condition.  They are also quoting a witness who said they saw one of the occupants of the truck coming out shooting

Here’s the live Sky News feed:

As this is written – 7:30PM Central US time – they’re vamping. Berg’s 17th Law is in effect.

  1. This is obviously the fault of the NRA. And Trump voters. And Brexit voters.

  2. Why do head chopping muzzies hate France so much? What about the Germans? They’ve imported just as many mujahideen, and, under Merkle (The Tofu Lady), have proven themselves just as submissive under duress.

  3. Where’s the “Good Guy” with a truck when you need him?

I think the same thing every time I see baked, white leftists identifying as black victims on some freeway.

  4. Why do head chopping muzzies hate France so much?

The less-than-light touch the French had in North Africa back in the colonial day figures into it, I would imagine.

  5. Swiftee apparently they haven’t really assimilated at all. Imagine little Mogadishu over in Minneapolis. Multiply that by about 1000 and thats what France is dealing with.

  6. Why do head chopping muzzies hate France so much?

Look up “Charles Martel”. It predates the French invasion of North Africa and even the Crusades by just a touch. Plus, it’s not like the Thais, Filipinos, or Chinese were involved in any of these, and they’re feeling the love, too.

Not to deny historical realities here, but let’s not forget the historical reality of Islamic wars whenever they felt they had an advantage, either.

  7. Why do head chopping muzzies hate France so much?

I’m not sure they hate the French much more than they hate Europeans in general. There is the Tunisia thing, true, but these folks are descended from those who tried to escape the mess that was that revolution. And the fact that they’ve never really integrated into France, but then again, it’s almost impossible to integrate into France because French labor laws make it almost impossible for anyone who isn’t connected to get an initial job so they can start working their way up society and integrating.

The lack of an empire in this case is helping the Germans in that they never felt a connection/responsibility for misadventures in Muslim regions so they never felt the need to let in tons of Muslims. It’s only now that they’ve embraced full-on progressive post-modernism that their demographics have crashed and they’ve had to turn to Muslim immigration to maintain the number of factory workers their economy needs.

Maybe not Muslims in general, but I do remember something from German class in Jr high. Germany and Turkey have had a labor/immigration relationship since the 70s, mostly Turks immigrating to Germany for work. I do not remember the history and/or cause of this relationship. Up until this most recent wave of Muslim immigrants (invaders) there were way more Turks in Germany than probably any other ethnic/national minority. I do not know how many of those have stayed Muslim thru the generations, nor how much they have assimilated to German/European life/society/culture.

  9. Bill, when I was in Germany in 1989, I was told that the Turks were coming to fill the jobs–there simply weren’t enough Germans to fill them. Some have assimilated, many have not. Turks are in Germany for the same reason, really, that Italians are–they started as “guest workers” (Gastarbeiter) and eventually became citizens.

I have great memories of Sicilian Gastarbeiter, BTW. I was very slender (6’1″ and 150lbs dripping wet) at the time, and they’d feed me on the train to help me out. Mange, mange! So now I drink Italian wines to help them out. Maybe. :^)

  10. Japan has a closed door immigration policy and no Islamic terrorism (there are no Muslims). It is a society that is aging and dying before our eyes, unable to grow or change, becoming less significant with each passing year, culturally and economically wilting.

Germany is the most open, vital, forward looking country in Europe, willing to change, willing to adapt, willing to integrate new people. They have many Muslims, and struggle with cultural heterogeneity, but relatively little terrorism, although it would be a surprise if they escape it entirely.

Do you opt to be Japan or Germany in the 21st century?

  11. Just might be a middle place for a country that could be open to the world, but shut towards those who would drive a truck into a crowd, don’t ya think, Emery?

BTW, Germany has a lot of the same demographic issues as does Japan. We might say it’s at milepost 25 on the Highway to Hell, where Japan is at milepost 50, but really kind of a distinction without a whole lot of significance.

  12. Germany is trying to replace some of the demographically missing workers with immigrants. It is also willing to adjust its labor laws to adapt to the this century, without hysterical students and labor leaders shutting down cities with strikes and demonstrations. France, like Japan, looks backwards to preserve a past that it cannot return to. Germany is trying to move forward to a future that inevitably includes increasing numbers of ethnic minorities.

  13. It is the demographics, eTASS. Without assimilation, Germany will be declaring Sharia law within a generation. But you are OK with that. We get it. You don’t.

BTW, 50:50 you are driving a Japanese car, no? Them darn economically dying Japanese. All brace for disappearance of Nissans, Toyotas and Hondas! Oh the humanity!

  14. Japan is trying to preserve a past it cannot return to? So the Shogun is back or something?

On the flip side, it could be something like living in a country that makes Germany look like Iowa in comparison in terms of population density. While Japan has huge problems, especially demographic, anyone who’s been in Tokyo would rightly question the need for a lot more people there.
