I’m No Trump Fan…

…but I will say that his Second Amendment stance, expressed here in writing, is aggressively excellent.

Especially this bit here:

NATIONAL RIGHT TO CARRY. The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.

Given how often Trump is accused of making verbal promises he has no idea how to deliver, it’s kind of funny seeing him showing the gun control movement – which has been doing the same thing in fact for almost 50 years.

  1. Trump could win by making the 2nd amendment the centerpiece of his campaign.
It’s a wedge issue, and unlike other wedge issues, it cuts across party lines.

  2. It’s a nice contrast between Hillary’s position as articulated by her daughter and Trump.

Look, I don’t like Trump and I think he’ll have an incredibly hard time governing since he won’t have ANY support from the establishment. But I’ll take him over Hillary any time. Hell, I’d take Biden over Hillary as he’s merely an incompetent fool rather than a calculating, vindictive authoritarian.

  3. Waiting for DG to tell us how the Second Amendment is just for militias, then refuse to respond to the myriad of comments showing her to be wrong…

  4. Vote for Hillary, Emery. She never changes her position on anything!
Other than gay marriage and the Iraq War. You know, little things.

  5. Who could possibly support a candidate after they saw an ad with him being trashed by a bunch of losers with names like “Mitt” and “Lindsey”?

It will be entertaining to watch Clinton and Trump out–moderate one another. Maybe Hillary will run a positive campaign. Run on her record, you know?

    ok that made me laugh!

  7. Hint: it was snark. ;/

Poking fun at the Trump naysayers and Hillary supporters who point to her “experience”. She got elected! She gave speeches! She “advocated”! She travelled! She has all of these positions, half of which she said the opposite about until recently.

    I’m a equal offender. ;^)

  8. Hillary’s tenure of secretary of state was so lousy her supporters list her main accomplishment as visiting a lot of countries and flying in an airplane a lot.
She was very involved in pushing women’s rights and abortion in countries where women’s rights and abortion are not popular.
Hillary has never been able to grasp that it is necessary to do things that are popular if you want to be popular.

  9. Hillary has never been able to grasp that it is necessary to do things that are popular if you want to be popular.

This is not an ability that authoritarians nor tyrants neither have, nor care about having. Who cares about popularity when you have a monopoly on force? THIS is why it is so critical to prevent her (and any Dem) from becoming the next president, and enjoying the opportunity to appoint 1-3 completely vetted, tested, and proven anti-2nd amendment SCOTUS justices.

Given the track record of the left over the last 3 decades, any Republican legislator who would vote to consent to a Dem SCOTUS nominee in this day and age, based solely on their legal CV and ignoring their precedent for judicial interpretations, decisions, and ideology (I’m looking RIGHT AT YOU, John McCain) should not only be stripped of their Republican label, but ejected from the legislative body they happen to be seated in, with extreme prejudice.
