Debateable Impressions: Speaker Points

Up next:  Ben Carson.

What the conservative pundocracy says:  He held steady.

What I say:   While I respect virtually everything Carson stands for (he’s pretty hopeless on the Second Amendment), I’m always amazed when I see him at debates; quiet, unprepossessing, like an amiable professor who dropped into a WWE match.

Verdict:  He did well.  Not much more to say.

  1. Probably my favorite now that Walker is out. I can live with a squish on the 2nd in his case since with a GOP Congress he can’t do much damage. But if you’re looking for someone to counteract the MSM Super-PAC, he’s the one who has the best chance at doing it. I would fully expect him to be more Reagan-like in that he’ll espouse opposition to abortion, but he won’t actually make it part of his legislative agenda (watch him spar with the witches on The View). Which is fine, because the way to overturn that kind of thing is by changing social policy rather than by trying to overturn a court ruling with an amendment.
