Someone has finally found a proper use for Pepsi.
God Bless America!

MMMMMM That sounds ultra-delicious!!! It makes me want to throw a pork roast in the crockpot, fill it up with silver-dollar-sized red potatoes, baby carrots, a little celery, & possibly some mild horseradish sauce. Fall & winter are great eating months, though I’ve been known to eat things in all seasons.

And with two teenagers in the house, no leftovers, right Mitch? :^)

Tell Bogus Doug to bring over some heirloom tomatoes and you’ll really have a party.

Does any liquid go in the crock pot with the brisket?

You can make a better BBQ sauce using the cola braising liquid than anything you can get out of a bottle.

Bubba: Even my son ate ’em.
D: Wish I’da had some.
MoN: Yep.
LF: I wasn’t quite that ambitious: the whole project was a labor-saving experiment. Started the marinade Monday morning, threw it in the pot yesterday at 5:30AM.
However, if you have a recipe out there for next time (and there will be a next time – like, next week), shoot me a pointer.
Swiftee: Stole it from my son.
gmg: Mmm. Gotta try that on Sunday.

16 lbs pork shoulder butt, generously seasoned and refridgerated over night. Get up at 6:30am and place onto weber grill coals to one side, very low heat, meat on the other side. Flip during lunch, remove from grill when you get home from work. Removing from the grill is a challenge as it is falling apart. Serve with coleslaw, no sauce needed.
Take practice to get the grill just the right temperature for all day untended cooking but definately worth it.
