Need I Remind The Nobel Committee…

By Mitch Berg

…and all of Obama’s voters, that it’s been nine months, and Osama Bin Laden hasn’t been taken into custody yet?

Still at large.  But why?

Wasn’t that supposed to have been dealt with by now?

Well, of course I’m being tongue in cheek.  Unlike, say, every lefty hamster that spent six years barbering about it, as if it were the sine qua non of the war on terror…

Hey Clownie, where’s Osama? Nine months and your Great Leader hasn’t brought him to justice. I guess he’s been to busy healing the world and lowering the oceans.

  2. K-Rod Says:

Both Osama and Obama had friends that attacked the Pentagon.

  3. Ben Says:

I’m just waiting for the BUT BOOSH!! line

  4. Kermit Says:

Obama had 9 months, Bush had 9 years (or something like that).

  5. Night Writer Says:

It could be Osama bin Hidin is actually on the Nobel committee.

  6. Terry Says:

Bin Laden isn’t on the Nobel committee. If he was that would disqualify him for the prize.

  7. DiscordianStooj Says:

Well, Osama got a 7 year head start.

  8. Kermit Says:

Hide and seek in the Hindu Kush. God, liberals are frigging clueless.

And the explanation for why bin Laden hasn’t already been caught prior to January 2009 is………that the conservatives are sooo much smarter?

An equal concern is that the terrorists have become more diversified in their organizing, so that any one person, like bin Laden is less important in their planning. Even if he were caught tomorrow, the significance of catching him may not be that great any longer, other than symbolically.

I figure it takes more than 9 months to unsnarl the previous admins snafus.

kinda like the mess Clinton left Bush?

  11. golfdoc50 Says:

Since when does capturing OBL end the war on terror–excuse me, overseas contingency operations? Khalid Sheik Mohammed was the one who masterminded 9/11, and we caught him, made him cry like a pussy when we WATERBOARDED him. That won’t happen under BHO, but have you noticed, Gitmo is still open?

  12. Kermit Says:

Doggie barked “I figure it takes more than 9 months to unsnarl the previous admins snafus. ”
Which is as ignorant as it is insulting to the men and women of our military. Was George Bush and Donny Rumsfeld running around Tora Bora looking in caves? No, it was our military, and you know damn well that they would have loved to find the POS is they could. It’s just a great place to hide.
You folks on the left (Clownie) chose to make this a political football, and so now it’s your turn on defence.
    Get used to it.

  13. Kermit Says:

    Defense. Coffee. Whatever.

We are 🙂 but that’s a bit of a tangent.

As has been noted on this blog, Bin Laden is a person of immense wealth who is hiding in an area of the world where he’s got millions of supporters.

I noted that the person longest on the Ten Most Wanted list has been there over 25 years – in a country full of mostly law-abiding people (and/or people who’d love to claim a reward), chased by the FBI.

Also that getting Bin Laden will have zero affect on terrorism worldwide.

I make those allowances now. Which is more than way-too-many liberal pundits did for most of the last seven years.

Even if he were caught tomorrow, the significance of catching him may not be that great any longer, other than symbolically.

And as I pointed out to the first 240,753,346 lefties who got that smug grin on their faces and said “why hasn’t Bush gotten Bin Laden? Hmmm?” and crossed their arms and nodded their heads like toddlers who’d just made good pantses, it was the same way six years ago.

I posted this more as an exercise in nostalgia; remember when “find Bin Laden” was what the war was supposed to be all about (to some liberals)?

As I pointed out four years ago, “catch Bin Laden” was a dumb thing to attack the Administraiton over; it still is.

Not that I’m gonna get that upset when it happens.

    Oh, yeah:

Which is as ignorant as it is insulting to the men and women of our military. Was George Bush and Donny Rumsfeld running around Tora Bora looking in caves? No, it was our military

(And those of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Norway and Germany, whose special forces also turned out back in 2002 to the Tora Bora. Just like to make sure they get their due; we bag on their contributions enough, it’s worth noting the good ones)

  16. Terry Says:

Of course it’s never been about Bin laden. Iraq wasn’t about Iraq and Guantanamo wasn’t about Guantanamo.
It has only and always been about George W Bush. The right has not been and never will be as obsessed with Obama as the left has been with George W Bush.
The left cannot help it. They are mental.

  17. jpmn Says:

As long as Pakistan and/or Iran are off limits to our troops OBL will be difficult to locate and capture or kill.

His capture or death (while it will be important politically) isn’t the main issue. When OBL dies he will be replaced. The main thing is keeping Al Qaida disorganized and on the run.

If Obama can keep AQ on the run that part of his presidency will be a sucess. If OBL is or is not killed and we take our eye off the problem it will be a failure.

  18. angryclown Says:

Dog Bone, idiot wingnuts: it doesn’t matter who the president is. It’s not a good thing for the figurehead of a foreign terrorist movement that successfully murders 2,000 Americans on U.S. soil to be permitted to sit around in caves, fscking goats and making videos. That’s not what being a superpower is about. He should have been dead yesterday. If he’s killed tomorrow, that will at least be better than if we have to wait until the next day.

“Wormer, he’s a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer…dead!”

  19. Ben Says:

what about those people that died when the WTC was attacked in 1993, or the US embassy in 1998, or the USS Cole in 2000 clownie? Oh I forgot since those happened under a democratic administration it doesn’t count.

  20. angryclown Says:

Wow, you really are kind of a moron aren’t you Ben? Here, let me see if I can dumb down to your level:

    Terrorists bad! Must kill terrorists.

See Dick kill a terrorist. See Jane kill a terrorist. See Democrat kill a terrorist. See Republican kill a terrorist.

  21. Terry Says:

Clown, your president has declared war on businessmen, doctors, and republicans, not terrorists.

  22. angryclown Says:

Not so much, Terry. It’s just that you wingnuts can’t stop shrieking about socialism, nazism, teabags, birth certificates and whatever else happens to cross your wingnutty radar on any given day. Angryclown suggests you give it a rest, stop making such a spectacle of yourselves and crawl back under your rocks to wait for a president who’s more to your liking. He’ll be easy to recognize – his first name will be “Darth.”

  23. Mitch Berg Says:

you wingnuts can’t stop shrieking about… nazism, teabags…

Er, those are you guys’s lines.

Are we “wingnuts” cutting into your “Nobel Celebration Time”, angryclown? If so, sorry about that. 🙂

  26. K-Rod Says:

I figure it takes more than 9 months for the lefties like Doggie and AssClown to recover from their BDS.

  27. K-Rod Says:

    “fscking goats and making videos”

You sound like you’re the expert, AssClown, along with sphincter polishing.
