Racists!

New York Governor David Paterson is afro-American.
Therefore the only reason to want him out of office is racism:
National Democratic Party leaders have asked Gov. David Paterson to consider withdrawing from the 2010 governor’s race, according to two senior New York Democratic advisers…
…The New York Times, which originally reported the request on its Web site, said that it was President Barack Obama who asked Paterson to withdraw.
Racists! And probably Nazis to boot!

Your attempts to counter the racism critique by exaggerating it are feeble. No one claims it is necessarily racist to oppose Obama. Intelligent people merely observe that there is a racist element among those who oppose him. But you inside the far-right wingnutosphere purposely mischaracterize the argument. Standard procedure.

It doesn’t take an “intelligent” person to “observe” things they imagine are true in order to cast aspersions on a group they oppose.
The constant referral to “code words”* and the phrase “not everyone who thinks this is a racist”** are ways to note that you are overplaying the race card.
This is really too bad, because in this pursuit of false racism you squander any righteous outrage you have to spend on the real stuff. :-/
* Meaning: words that have nothing to do with racism, but are imagined to have some connection to racism when convenient.
** Meaning: you may not be racist, but conveniently (and without support) many people who share your thoughts on topic X are racists.

I look at this like I looked at VP Cheney’s involvement into whether Coleman-Pawlenty should run for Govenor or Senator. It’s a tempest in a teapot.
Obama probably shouldn’t be putting himself into it. NY Democrats can work this out in the primary the same way they always have. With the aid of a bought and paid for press.
