Whilst Travelling

What is one thing, besides mountains, that Colorado has that Minnesota doesn’t?

Amy Klobuchar giving them the unvarnished facts about her beliefs:

Senator Klobuchar was the first woman elected to represent the State of Minnesota in the U.S. Senate when she took office in 2007. She was interviewed by Walter Issacson, CEO of the Aspen Institute, in one of the first events of the 2015 Aspen Ideas Festival.

“What I will never, ever forget was this one mother who said they were all in the firehouse after the shooting,” [at Sandy Hook] said Klobuchar. “And one by one, the kids would come in from the school. After about a few hours had passed, the parents that were left knew that their kids were never coming back into that firehouse.”

Her story left the entire room quiet, the silence only being punctured by sniffling and crying.

“So when you sit there with those parents and think of the courage that they have and think that the Senate did not have the courage to pass a simple background check bill, it was really the lowest,” said Klobuchar, adding that the possibility that the Senate could do something about gun control would be a step forward.

Hmm.  She seemed pretty quiet about background checks in 2012 and 2014…

…here at home, at least.

  1. She forgets that the Sandy Hook shooter murdered the gun owner and stole her guns.

  2. “Sometimes their policies are evil,” said Klobuchar. “But usually, you can find something good in those people and you can find something that you can work with.”
Evil?! EVIL!? How in the world can a woman who openly claims that your beliefs are evil represent you in congress?

  3. You know what would be helpful? Hitting the news media whenever they do not preface the “NRA” with the words “grassroots”. The media likes to refer to operations that with few real members, and members who are “community organizers” paid with grants from the government and wealthy liberal foundations as “grassroots.” Call them on it.

  4. Pow, I recently heard Tom Emmer speak at a non-partisan event. I was amazed at how….non-partisan he made his speech. He seems to want to represent his people first and be a flaming partisan a very distant second.
A while back I heard Al Franken speak at a non-partisan event. He used the opportunity to bash Republicans. Its just what they do.

Now, Barry O lighting up the White House in homosexual rainbow colors the other day…..that was Barry’s way of giving a big F. U. to anyone who has a different view than him. Stay classy Barry.

  5. Pow, that would be the “powerful NRA” in MSM speak. Its a good propaganda tool. Dehumanize your opponents. Make them some faceless scary entity.

  6. “Ninety of our Fortune 500 companies were formed by immigrants,” said Klobuchar, as she examined the situation through an economic lens. “Two-hundred of our Fortune 500 companies were formed by immigrants or kids of immigrants. Thirty percent of our U.S. Nobel Laureates were born in other countries.”

Sooo Amy. And how many of the above were illegal immigrants who came here by wading across the Rio Grande? How many came here via legal means? How many of the 35,000,000 illegals in our country are going to start up a Fortune 500 company?

  7. In MSM speak, a democrat who calls he opponents policies evil is considered a centrist.

  8. And I promptly called her office to advise (her staffer…my guess it never reaches Amy) that any additional background check in addition to CT’s relatively strict gun control laws would likely have prevented this as Adam Lanza did what many criminals do to obtain his firearm, he stole it…and that he also did what many narccisistic pschopaths like him do to inflict as much damage as he can in a short amount of time…he committed his crim in a “gun-free” zone.

How did he possibly get his gun into a “gun-free” zone?

  9. Sen. Vanilla Fluff is the opening act at the 2015 Aspen ‘Ideas’ Festival?
Puts me in mind of that Milton Friedman quote – “If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years there’d be a shortage of sand.”
