Compare and Contrast

The subject is constituent meetings related to healthcare.

Senator Klobuchar:  “Meets” with constituents via a “tele-town hall”.  To te accurate – the technology was exceedingly buggy. To be fair, she and her people by all appearances tried to put on a fair show; it’s also worth noting that her stance on Obamessiahcare Kennedycare differs from the orthodox left’s stance, to the point that she’s angering liberals.  Fair is fair.

Representatives Ellison and McCollum: Held a healthcare rally for, basically, supporters.  At the DFL headquarters.  That’s it.

Representative Bachmann: Held a town hall meeting in which she welcomed supporters and detractors.

Just saying.

One need not look much further than the Left’s recent boycott of Whole Foods to see that the Left, for the most part, is a closed minded bunch who brook no dissent of their church of big government orthodoxy and only want to hear from and associate with people who agree with them.

Important Health Care Meeting on Monday

Your U.S. Congresswoman, Representative Betty McCollum, initially refused to hold any public meetings on health care reform. But thanks to contacts from her constituents demanding a public forum, she has finally relented. She’s not calling it a “town hall meeting,” but Rep. McCollum has announced a “Health Care Reform Community Discussion” to take place Monday night at Macalester College.

President Obama, concerned about the rising opposition from the grassroots has begun to mobilize teams of union employees to bus in to local events like McCollum’s community discussion forum.

As one of Rep. McCollum’s constituents in the 4th District, it is CRITICAL that she hears from you. Please take the time out of your busy schedule to attend this important venue for community input on the future of your health care options. Here are the details for the meeting:
    Event:
    Health Care Reform Community Discussion

    Date:
    Monday, August 31

    Time:
    7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (be sure to arrive early to assure a seat)

    Location:
    Weyerhaeuser Chapel
1600 Grand Ave, St. Paul (click here for a map)

BE PREPARED for the meeting by reviewing our resources:

You can read the health reform bill (HR3200) yourself:
    http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.uscongress/legislation.111hr3200

If you don’t have time to read the entire 1000 page bill, check-out the review of the bill completed by the Liberty Council:

See our list of questions that you may want to ask:

Print and distribute copies of our ObamaCare flyer at the meeting:

FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO OTHERS AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO ATTEND THIS MEETING.

Hundreds of people to need to attend this meeting and voice their opposition to a government takeover of our health care system. The most effective thing you can do is to be there in-person on Monday night. Bring a sign. Bring a hand-written letter to hand to Rep. McCollum. Bring a video camera to record the event.

If it is impossible for you to attend the meeting

Sure am glad Liberty Council and others aren’t organizing people to show up (and scream) – yep.

Sure, am glad. BTW, who helps to lead the “Liberty Council” – oh, yeah, Dick Armey.

Sure am glad there aren’t these Republican party operatives out there working to keep government from taking over OUR health care system. I didn’t know I owned it, man are some people gonna get FIRED.

BTW Mitch, did you see where Tim Walz held a town-hall, invited Kline to participate, but of course, held it solo as KLINE HAS NEVER HELD A TOWN-HALL or anything else on this subject, and damned near never meets with constituents.

    Just sayin.

And what a staged set of crappola questions that list of questions truly is…wow.

    I don’t understand.
Does that mean Pernicious Peev appreciates Bachmann’s Town Hall, but doesn’t wish to actually say it (because the left-leaning hate-zombies would trounce him) or that he doesn’t believe it occurred?

No, Badda, I think it means that Pen is aware of information like Bachmann showing up at an event in St. Cloud and reportedly staying for 10 minutes; reports that at this most recent event, supporters were organized and bussed in, in an attempt to stack the people present in her favor; or it could be he is not impressed by Bachmann’s meeting because there were people there in t-shirts asserting that Obama was some kind of cult; or maybe it was because he heard about the lunatic fringie who expressed fear that after his term – his 4 or 8 year term – Obama wouldn’t leave the white house and it would take force to evict him.

Or maybe it was because of earlier meetings where thing were reportedly run so as to screen questions to fit Bachmann’s preferences.

But I could be wrong; I haven’t asked him about it in the last few days.

Doggie, we just went through 8 years of the exact same behavior, with violence (WTO in Seattle, RNC in St. Paul). Peev tends to do what many liberals do, which is ignore his own fellow lib’s behavior and focus on his opposition like it’s something new.
Organizing? Good Heavens! Someone call ACORN, their patent has been infringed.

Too bad someone wasn’t there to speak truth to power, right penigma? *snicker*
