As Minnesotans, we know we need health insurance reform.
(Actually, smart Minnesotans know we need it vastly less than most people – about 8% of Minnesotans lack any form of health insurance – but then, “smart people” is not who this announcement was aimed at. I digress).
We are sick of a few loud people dominating this debate.
(So much better to have a few people speaking into microphones in hearing rooms in Washington going unquestioned).

The rally will be followed by a canvass, where we will hit the streets and talk to you friends and neighbors about the need for reform this year!

This is actually great. Betty! and Hakim are forced to blatently marginalize large portions of their constituencies because they fear having tough questions put to them in public.
They are running scared. They think that this collosal excersize in hypocrisy will somehow shield them….they’re wrong.
I called Betty!’s office this morning to ask them about this meeting. The gal refused to give her name, repeatedly said she didn’t know anything about this event and that I’d have to call Betty!’s campaign office.
I reminded her that the election is next year, and reminded her that the country is considering the biggest expansion of government in 50 years….but Betty! is going to take a break to campaign?
*crickets*
