Keep in mind that the activist faction of the LGBT (etc.) community was up in arms about the, mostly young people, usurping the definition of the term “gay” as a dersion (apparently usurping the definition of the term to describe someone that has an affinity for the same gender as opposed to happy was perfectly alright).
Now we also have the activist faction of the feminist community upset about applause.
Activist factions seeming compulsion to have something about which to be angry and militant has devolved them into self-parody.
