Szerény Javaslat

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

The Prime Minister of Hungary gave his State of the Nation address. Love this line:

“And as far as I see it, Hungarian people are by nature politically incorrect – in other words, they have not yet lost their common sense.”

The Republicans should run this guy against Hillary  No, he wasn’t born in this country.  What difference, at this point, does it make?

Joe Doakes

And trying read Hungarian is about the same as trying to read most legal writing…

I am very surprised conservatives would accept Mr. Cruz, a first term senator and an attorney to boot. Especially one from one of those elitist universities like Hahvad. And so little experience! Sounds like their version of Obama. And you say he wasn’t born in the U.S.? Delicious.

  2. Terry’s rule: You should never vote for anyone you could imagine as a Bond villain.
Many conservatives follow this rule, even if they don’t know of it. Look at Cheney. He supposedly didn’t run in 2008 because he had a bad ticker. Hell, he’ll probably outlive Obama. But he had that Bond villan vibe . . .

And, unlike Obama, Algore and Hillary, someone who actually IS as smart as that degree is supposed to say you are.

And so little experience! Sounds like their version of Obama.

Which is why he’s way down my list.

And you say he wasn’t born in the U.S.? Delicious.

Yeah, I’m waiting for the first liberal bobblehead to bring that up with a straight face.

  4. Are we talking about the Hungarian? Or did Emery hijack this post to talk about Cruz?

  5. My goodness, read the whole speech. References to the classics, references to history, plenteous use of the 2nd person, pointing out that inflation was a tax on the poor…..why can’t we get people to talk like this in the U.S.? It says something when the product of Sovietized schools–meaning largely self-taught in what is important–beats the tar out of our guy with two Ivy League degrees.

Really, the passion of the guy comes out even in translation, which is a welcome change from the guy who really wants to be a professor, but without the painful necessity of actually knowing something.

  6. “Yeah, I’m waiting for the first liberal bobblehead to bring that up with a straight face.”
MBerg: Yes, I thought it a bit odd the birthers are silent about this.

  7. Swift: I’m just waiting for Cruz to announce as his running mate the ghost of Joseph McCarthy. They look alike, they sound alike, and they would appeal to the same sort of voter.

  8. Bike,

I don’t vote based on speaker points – but since oratory is sorta the family business, I’ll admit I do wish more pols were much, much better speakers.

Cruz is great. Not enough to put him in my top three, but certainly estimable.

  9. waiting for Cruz to announce as his running mate the ghost of Joseph McCarthy. They look alike, they sound alike, and they would appeal to the same sort of voter

    Naturally.

  10. It’s not that Mr. Cruz too conservative to get elected, it’s that he’s too much of a demagogue

  11. And yet 0bumbler got elected. EmeryTheAntiSemiticSoci@list is all broken up neither Ylianov nor Djugashvilli are running. There is nobody worthy for him to vote for.

  12. Mr. Cruz’s supporters are much like Netanyahu’s supporters. Israel voted for paranoid religious nationalists who openly campaigned against a racial minority, reject any plan for peace in the occupied territories, and favor an expansionist policy for settlements. These policies are a mix of apartheid and ethnic cleansing. Israelis are free to make that choice, but they should be judged based on their choices.

  13. Mr. Cruz’s supporters are much like Netanyahu’s supporters

A plurality and key to a parliamentary majority?

  14. Last time I checked Israel was a Jewish Sate fighting against annihilation. Got it? You fucking AntiSemitic piece of shit for brains EmeryTheSoci@list pig? None of your fucking AntiSemitc terrorist-sympathizing rhetoric is fooling anyone.

  15. Trying to get back to the subject, it is wonderful to see national leaders recognize their nation’s right to survive. If only we had such a leader.

  16. LOL! Check young Eichmann, over there goose steppin’ and Heil-in’ like a boss! Get on with your bad self Emery, make your Daddy proud.

  17. Have you made your father proud Tom? I understand he didn’t set the ‘bar’ too high.
