  1. Chad The Elder Says:

Two weeks notice for a MOB party during the height of summer (allegedly)? I would expect a light turnout.

  2. Chad The Elder Says:

Unless you’re bringing in those Brooks Brothers wearing outside agitators.

  3. Mr. D Says:

Gonna be in Kansas City that weekend – will see if I can find a vendor at Kaufmann Stadium that sells Smithwick’s, though.

  4. Lassie Says:

Taking an idea from Barbie Boxer: Guys to wear lime, gals wear pink.

  5. swiftee Says:

Did Terry get his patio problems resolved?

  6. Mitch Berg Says:

More on the patio problems later today.

  7. Mitch Berg Says:

    Chad,

I learned a long time ago; you can never make everyone happy.

  8. Master of None Says:

    MOB does facebook?

  9. Johnny Roosh Says:

The Mayor will be there and will be signing autographs.

  10. Chad The Elder Says:

Of course not. But there’s a broad spectrum between making everyone happy and making no one happy and you can make decisions to influence where you end up on it.

In this, case, you can increase your chances of making more people happy by providing more notice. The specific date isn’t the issue, rather its proximity to today. Usually the closer in you are to a date, the less flexibility you have. Just sayin’.

  11. Mitch Berg Says:

OK – I’m wondering if September 12 might work better. After the fair, a month away.

    Speak now or…

  12. Mr. D Says:

I like September 12 much better.

  13. swiftee Says:

Sept is fine. But if a guy can’t have a cigar while mocking moonbats with his fellows, I’ll have to decline.

    What about Mayslacks?

  14. Mitch Berg Says:

As to the cigar issue – I have a post slated to run in about ten minutes that shouild give you a pretty clear call to action on that front. With a little luck, and a little particpation from everyone, maybe we can have the patio back by then…

I’m thinking about moving the date, at any rate.

  15. K-Rod Says:

I try to limit the weekends I stay home inside the 694 loop to under 10 per year.
Hay Days is on the 12th… but Grouse hunting opens on the 12th…

  16. Margaret Says:

It was announced on July 27. http://www.shotinthedark.info/wp/?p=5137

And I think it was on TN as well. Only the place was TBD. We had a thread on it at Anti-Strib.

There are some tables out front at Keegans for cigar smokers. If there is some kind of gathering at Keegans on the 22nd, we will be there.

  17. Night Writer Says:

The 22nd or the 12th, we’d likely be there in force.

  18. Johnny Roosh Says:

Either way The Mayor will be there and will be signing autographs.

  19. wabbitoid Says:

I will try to be there, not sure if my folks are in town or not. I’m still sad that I missed the last one!

I want to see if y’all have “faces made for blogging”, to paraphrase Tom and Ray Magliozzi. 🙂

  20. Marty Andrade Says:

I’ve already taken the weekend of the 22nd off of work. But, if it ends up being the 12th, I’ll figure out a way to get there.

And Johnny Roosh: I’ll take an autograph

  21. tolowen Says:

If it’s the 22nd, I’ll be there. Not Sept. 12th, I’m camping with the girls.

  22. Ben Says:

you guys have a facebook?!? Run for the hills!
