  1. I recommend this document to those who want to learn about the history of the ability of scientists to understand the Earth’s climate: http://www.aip.org/history/climate/cycles.htm
It’s written by a global warming believer, but the global warming believer is a physicist who understands how tendentious the science of understanding the past climate of the Earth is. If your ability understand the future is dependent on your ability to understand the past, the ‘science’ behind AGW is on shaky ground.
The subtext to climate change science is that it is a very young science that has always been trying to become relevant to people living now.
In the old days, for example, geology was considered a useful science because it allowed us to exploit natural resources (minerals, coal, etc) with greater efficiency. Since the 1950s or so, climate scientists have been trying to become relevant as geology became relevant in the 19th century, and meteorology became relevant in the 20th century: “Hey, policy makers, fund our research and we will help you achieve your policy goals!”
The goal of policy makers in the west these days is to exploit and control people who work for a living.
