Open Letter To African American Families

Re: War

All,

The Obama Administration talks a lot about “wars”; about a “war on women”, finding a “war against discrimination”, Michelle Obama’s “war on obesity”, continuing the “war on poverty”, and so on. In fact, just about the only thing the administration doesn’t call “war” is the part where they drop bombs on people who are shooting at us, or people that we are friendly with (at the moment).

But let’s be honest – the only war the administration is waging with any gusto is the war against you and your families.

That is all.

  1. Mr. Berg’s theory on the progressives’ infatuation with war is further substantiated with their supposed willingness to fight. It seems that the harder someone embraces liberalism, the more often they claim that they do, or will, fight for their causes. Not very collaborative or bi-partisan.

One would think that by their embracing, either directly or by implication, pacifism, they would steer clear of anything that sounded contrary; the words
“war” and “fight” in particular. The late nice but misguided senator, Paul Wellstone, seemed particularly fond of these terms.

An impromptu group calling themselves “The Wellstone Singers” even performed (although I can’t find it now) a tribute song called “Keep Fighting.” The song was liberally peppered with the term. Does anyone else remember that, or am I hallucinating?

  2. The people that they are declaring war on is their fellow citizens. This is an old leftist tradition, and is one of the defining differences between “Left” and “Right”.

  3. Not to mention the race war about to begin in St Louis. A race war the President and Attourney General have both stoked for the past six months.
