  1. I thought Harry Reid invoked the “nuclear option” and eliminated the filibuster. Why aren’t we punching back twice as hard?

  2. It’s Franken’s last chance to be relevant before the GOP majority takes his red Swingline stapler away and banishes him to the custodian’s closet….which will be greaaaat.

  3. Junior, minority-party senator from a small Midwestern state.
Al will find another job soon, I bet.
And he will never return to Minnesota again.

  4. I’ve seen a lot today about KXL and the GOP Senate Majority that has been headache inducing. I love this one from the linked article.
“Franken said in a statement after the vote that Congress shouldn’t sidestep the permitting process that’s underway on the oil pipeline.”
Um, that’s the issue Stu. The permitting process has been stalled by administration.
I also read this politico article, “Liberal ‘Hell No’ Caucus Rises.”

There are some real gems. The best comes from the end.
“The best news about a Republican majority in the Senate is that the Republican minority is now gone,” Whitehouse (D, R.I.) said. “They were just a god-awful minority.”
I also recently read an article saying KXL will only create 35 permanent, post construction jobs, therefore it’s jobs benefit is not worth talking about (sorry, I don’t remember where), not to mention all the people in the comments sections talking about the Evviiillll Koch Bros. owning KXL and their penchant for poisoning groundwater and incinerating teenagers out for a Sunday Drive.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take some Excedrin and then repair the forehead shaped hole in my wall.
